It had been a long time since she had asked her mother for advice but she thought it was about time. Everyone was growing up around her and in many ways she felt like she was still a child. She -knew- she was better than that but she had nothing to prove it with. She had done nothing her mothers had expected of her. Her only plus had been that she had not made a stupid mistake like Moto and Mlinda.
Stupid girls falling for some male's charms. She'd expected better of Moto. But at least she seemed to regret what she did and was making up for it without complaint.
Shaking her head she wandered toward the small grove where her mother and clan leader was often found.

Things had been quiet around the pride. With their new leader they seemed to be going on without fault. None of the silly little mistakes that her mother had made ... a smirk crossed her lips as she remembered being asked for advice. Ah well. So long as no one was upsetting their way of life she could go on happily.
The cubs had grown up nicely. Her son had sent off where he belonged and as far as she knew he was getting on well. Moto's girls had promise, one more than the other, and she was glad that they could see their mothers mistake and hopefully never make it themselves. Mlinda's litter had come up much the same. The boys had been sent away and the girls had learned their lessons well.
Humming softly to herself her ears twitched back as she heard footsteps. "Kijicho ... already seeking me out for advice?" She smirked when she heard her daughters footsteps falter.

She had forgotten her mother paid far more attention to her surrounds than she let on and jumped when she was addressed. "Yes.." She had no idea how her mother had known she was there for advice. Had she been doing something before to give it away?
"It has been quiet lately. I have been helping teach the youngsters, who aren't anymore, and now i am .... at a loss for what to do." There. She'd said it. Without cubs around that she could teach she didn't really feel like she was useful for anything. She was just a sore spot on the bright pride.
"So you feel useless." She laughed as she set down the flowers she'd been picking. Some of the grown cubs would need their tattoos and she would need more pigment for it.
"If you feel as if you need cubs about to make yourself useful then perhaps you should do something to bring more to the clan. Though there is no guarantee that they will not be in the same place you are." She smirked. She knew Kijicho hated that she had been born white. "You are old enough to make those decisions are you not?"

"That isn't .." That wasn't what she'd meant was it? She'd never spoken to the males except for the cubs in the clan. She couldn't just walk up to one of the ones she'd watched grow up and ask for that could she? It would be ... strange.
"I was hoping you would have something else i could do. You are gathering flowers are you not? I can go further out into the jungle to get them." Then she wouldn't have to think about speaking to a male of all things.
"Is it not?" She raised a brow and turned to look at her daughter. It was obvious that she was jealous of the females that had given the clan more females. Kijicho just didn't want to admit it to herself. Ah well.
"Changing the subject does not get you away from it. But i am and you should. Only these though." She waved a paw at the bright yellow flowers she'd already gathered. "And any feathers you find that will be of use to us. We need all that we can get with how large Mlinda's litter was."

She opened her mouth to argue before closing it. There was no use in arguing with Kichaa. Not unless she wanted a reminder who was the leader of the clan and who knew how things were suppose to work. She remembered well lessons she'd learned under a hard paw.
"Do not argue with me little one." She eyed her daughter for a moment before her mind seemed to shift somewhere else.
"Have you seen your mother? She has been quiet of late. She should come speak to me...." She had been busy tidying her alter and had not had time to spend with her mate lately. She should remedy that. The youngsters couldn't have all the fun right?

"I saw her yesterday morning. She seems to have been busy herself lately." She hated it when her mother switched subjects so easily. She never could keep her mind on something for long enough when you really wanted her to. "I am sure that your alter is clean. You could go seek her out."
She hated that too. It was so easy for everyone else in the clan to find a partner. But not her. No, she was such a horrid color and no female woudl want to take her as a mate.
"I will do that then. I have missed her company ... perhaps she will help me grind flowers...."
Her head tipped to the side as she thought for a moment before moving past her daughter. "Live up to your potential and your color will not matter" She looked at her daughter for a moment before disappearing into the underbrush.
"Wh...." She stared after where her mother had gone. "How -does- she do that?"
