In celebration of her new apartment, Varete had undertaken the grand task of house shopping.
While the rest of her bedroom was assembled.. The rest of the rooms were hopelessly barren. She had grown tired of the white walls, and the ivory tiles devoid of objects. "It's time to bring some life to this apartment!" She had announced with fiery determination.
And thus began a lengthy trip to the mall of Destiny City.
And three hours later, her shopping expedition had come to an abrupt halt as she took a seat on the floors of Sear's. Oblivious to the strange glances of customer's nearby, Varete took the utmost care in examining Sear's latest toy.
A <********> robot. An interactive robot, equipped with laser beams and rocket boosters. "How could anyone resist?!" She had thought with an incredulous expression.
But as attracted as she was towards the robot, logic also led her to believe that the chainsaw would be beneficial to her household. No doubt, due to the influence of the movie "Zombieland" she watched last night. Despite her negaverse powers, she was no match for zombies. And in the case of a zombie invasion.. She'd have a weapon in handy.
Never mind the fact that neither of these two objects pertained to house shopping. The issue was long forgotten.

Emily surveyed the mall with the air of military commander preparing for the day's battle. She inhaled deeply with a satisfied look, I love the smell of new plastic in the morning. And speaking of new plastic, she patted her pocket, taking comfort in the matte black credit card nestled there. Mr. Lee had given it to her in a non-denominational holiday card, with the sentiment of, "Only one large purchase a month. NO FLAMETHROWERS." She was a bit regretful over the flamethrower situation, but she could probably find some other way to acquire one if she ever found herself in a flamethrower-required emergency. Or if she needed to attend a BYOF event.
Taking out a writing pad, Emily looked over the notes she'd taken over the past few hours, comparing the pro's and con's of every item that had really caught her interest. After a long and rather painful internal debate, the list had been pruned down to two items. The BuzzPro ChainMaster (ultra limited cherry red Scarface edition!) And the new Ro-Buddy Uber Bot, which wasn't even supposed to be out in stores yet. They were both amazing. Equally so. Emily was in a quandary. A terrible, wonderful dilemma in which the only correct answer was "I'll buy them both!" Which she wasn't allowed to do.
Frowning at the robot display in consideration, she asked aloud, "What about a robot that comes with a chainsaw attachment?"

Having agonized over the two, Varete had decided to choose.. neither.
It had been a painful decision. But the way she saw it, either one she chose, she'd end up regretting the other. And it wasn't quite like she had enough money to afford the both of them. While she would have preferred to swipe the two objects, there was absolutely no way she was going to walk out of there unscathed. A girl walking out with a chainsaw was definitely bound to be labeled TERRORIST. If not well, madly insane.
She wasn't dumb enough enough to do something like that. She drew the line at being arrested or worse, taken to an asylum.
With her hands, she pushed herself up on her feet. "Ugh." She muttered as she attempted to dust herself and her clothes off.
Leaning over to grab her bag from the door, she made her way to the exit. As sad as it may be, she was going to ignore all of this and continue on clothing house shopping. She was going to pretend she never saw i—
"What about a robot that comes with a chainsaw attachment?" said the girl next to her, with a contemplative frown.
Oh! Varete said aloud to herself, one hand forming a fist as she lightly tapped the other in a sign of understanding.
A smart idea! Lightly tapping the other girl's shoulder, she gave her a friendly grin. No doubt, she appeared as a random character, to do this out of nowhere. but Varete Valentine was nothing if not full of random surprises.
"But the smarter question would be, what would said robot do with a chainsaw attachment, right?" Varete said, with a questioning tilt to her head.
In her opinion, the robot would an excellent addition to the zombie hunter force, indeed.

Emily turned at the tap to see a grinning blonde girl. She didn't appear to be a person who was trying to assist her, or one who needed assistance themselves. But the girl's question kept Emily from dismissing her out of hand. She sensed a certain sort of...kindred spirit, or perhaps it was just the wonderful bonding aura that shopping for extreme hardware provided. Either way, she felt it was important that this person realize just how amazing a robot with a chainsaw could be. With a small cough, she began to recite it's possible virtues, "It could remove unsightly furniture, boxes, people, and walls." Emily flipped to a new page of her notebook, and began writing something on it as she continued speaking. "If you lose a house key, and are unable to break in the normal way, you could have it create a new entrance. It could find and subdue rodents that burrow inside your walls. You could have it use the chainsaw on Angel to convince Tony to give you the money. That may backfire though. It could be used to create parking spaces, where before there were none. Or for dynamic entry. But," she paused to show the other girl her notepad, "I think this is what I really have in mind..." "... Extreme Landscaping."

As Emily launched herself into a fully detailed explanation, Val was taken back with her sudden manner. Clearly, this girl had more then the maid look going on for her.
The maid was an genius, she realized with a look on incredulity.
Fascinated by the girl's intense reaction to the issue of robots with chainsaws, she was glad to stay and listen. (Robots needed more looooveee, definitely!) But she would never have expected this of a person much less a maid. (Okay, so she stereotyped maids. BUT WHO WOULDN'T? She had only witnessed them in movies!)
It was good to know that she wasn't the only crazy person out there.
(Orrr, everyone else was crazy and she was just practical. As she saw it, she was preparing in advance. In the event of a zombie invasion, she would have her handy dandy chainsaw to protect herself! As for everyone else? They could go die for all she cared.)
Content to wait, she merely stood by the other girl until she was finished. While she was waiting, she distracted herself with the thoughts of zombies. 'Hmm. A chainsaw would be efficient but bloo-'
"But, I think this is what I really have in mind.."
The words snapped her back to reality, as she found a notebook pushed in front of her face. A drawing..? (Not only was this maid an evil genius, but she could draw too?!) Pausing to study the other girl's drawings, she felt the laughter bubble from her lips as she noted the girl's (immensely adorable) strategic drawings. Extreme landscaping? Eyes glinting with amusement, she chuckled. She was tempted to comment on it, but her attention was drawn to a different matter.
"Who is that other girl over there?" She questioned, as she gestured with her finger to the silver haired girl within the picture.

A proud glint appeared in Emily's eyes. She knew this girl was special, but for her to have noticed the most important part of Emily's drawing first...! Well, this was obviously not a person to be underestimated.
"That," she began explained with succinct satisfaction, "is my mistress, Miss Mindy." She considered waxing poetic about the shine of her mistress's long, flowing locks. The deviant smile with which she greeted the world. The confident timbre of her voice! Her amazing mind which confounded those who opposed her at every turn! But really, for all her superior understanding, the girl beside her would not be able to comprehend Miss Mindy's great and terrible presence unless she was to see her in person. So Emily settled for simply adding, "She's going to take over the world."

Still entranced by the drawing, Varete couldn't help but think of Miss Mindy as.. quite eccentric.
Why was she swooning over trees? Swooning over men was one thing, but over trees? Trees simply stood there. Doing absolutely nothing. Sure, they provided paper, oxygen, food, etc. But that was to be expected. But the quesiton here was: What quality did a tree possess for one to swoon over them?
An issue of complete bafflement, Val was tempted to scowl. Unfortunately, she could come to no conclusion.
Attentive to Emily's words (despite her distracted appearance), she was quick to reply. "Mistress?" She echoed, with surprise. They still existed within this day and age? In her experience, a mistress were woman who had belonged to man in exchange for his money. Was Miss Mindy a mistress?
But the expression upon Emily's face relayed no such thing. "She's going to take over the world." Emily stated, in a tone of utter confidence.
The world, huh? "That's some goal." Arms crossed over her chest, she chuckled. While Miss Mindy appeared to be a formidable opponent, she doubted Charonite would step aside to allow some girl to take his place. But it was quite the interesting idea, she mused to herself.
And with someone like Emily by her side, who knew what would happen?
Noting the soreness in her feet, and the glares of strangers nearby, it might have been better off to move towards a different location. "You want to get a cup of coffee, or tea?" Smiling, she gestured to the cafe nearby.
"Plans of world domination simply isn't the same without a cup of tea." She remarked, with a mischievous twinkle in her eye.

Not minding the other girl’s small laugh, Emily replied with all seriousness, “Yes, it is a large goal, but anything less would be beneath her.” Not that Emily wouldn’t support her mistress in such “lesser” goals. If Miss Mindy’s dream was to create the world’s largest wedge of cheese, then Emily would milk the cows herself. But she couldn’t help but feel a certain amount of pride in serving someone who was truly going the distance.
Giving the Uber Bot display one last glance, she gave a small sigh. Without a chainsaw attachment, it just didn’t seem as wonderful. Emily turned to her new acquaintance and held out her hand, “Tea would be excellent.” Word domination was more important than robots with chainsaws anyways. “My name is Emily Moffat, it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Well, unless they were part of a plan to take over the world.
Mental note: discuss the benefits of Chainbot army with Miss Mindy.

"Varete Valentine." She said, her hand extended out to accept the girl's own. But Varete wasn't one to simply be polite, she enfolded the girl in a enthusiastic hug of her own before turning on her heel.
On her way to grab herself some tea, she couldn't help but to giggle. World-domination? She had no doubt that Miss Mindy must have been someone extra-ordinary to have thought of such a feat. And with a maid like Emily, who knew what could happen? (MAYBE, A ZOMBIE INVASIIOOOOOOOON. It would have be a chainsaw for sure, she vowed to herself.) She would have to meet this 'Mindy' someday, if she ever had the chance.
Her shopping long forgotten, Varete directed the girl towards the coffee shop nearby. She was pleased to see the non-existent line, knowing there would be no wait for her. "Black tea, please." She ordered, giving the cashier a polite smile, before handing the girl a ten dollar bill.
"Here's your change, Miss." Said the cashier, as she handed Varete a few bills and coins. Tucking her change into her bag, she shifted herself over to the counter.
A few minutes later, gripping her drink in hand, she settled herself at a table nearby- The previous occupants having been asked 'politely' to move. (More like scared witless by what Varete would have threatened to do, if they had not gotten their asses off her seat, but it was nothing that Emily needed to know.)
Once Emily taken her seat, Varete didn't hesitate to get directly to the point. "So Emily, how is this plan of world domination coming along exactly?" She questioned, whilst sipping her tea. She was interested to hear more of this plan.
Testing the waters, or so to speak.

Emily startled a bit at the hug, eyes going dramatically wide. Was this an attack?! Ninja? Sumo???! But before she could react, the other girl had already turned and started walking, leaving the maid to stare blankly after her for a moment before hurrying to catch up.
While going through the motions for ordering and paying for her drink, ("Earl Grey, if you would.") Emily's eyes kept sliding over to regard her companion. That hug was extremely unexpected, and put her off balance, but, she didn't dislike it. Nor had her opinion of this girl changed for the worse. For Emily, this was really all very different.
Feeling a little awkward, Emily settled into her seat, wondering what the surprising Miss Valentine would do or say next. It was something of a relief when the other girl asked about The Plan, a topic that was not only near and dear to her heart, but also very familiar territory.
Coughing delicately to clear her throat, Emily began, "Slowly. It's been the work of years, and will continue to be so though..." Emily's thoughts drifted to the powered up beings running around Destiny City, not to mention the possibility of an elite chainbot army, "...it may not take as long now as previously thought." The maid took a small sip of her tea before continuing, "The specifics of The Plan belong to Miss Mindy alone, as it is undoubtedly both vast and profound. As it is, I just do whatever she requires of me in order to bring it to fruition."
Emily gave the girl in front of her a long look, before closing her eyes to contemplate the wisdom of what she was going to say. Maybe she could be of use to The P'an? Or become a leader of the Great Chainbot Army? In the end, her decision came down to this: she liked this person, and for some reason she wanted Miss Mindy to like her too. Giving a small nod, more to herself than anything, Emily opened her eyes and asked, "So, Miss Valentine, would you like to meet Miss Mindy?"

Gaze focused on the girl before her, "Sounds interesting." She commented lightly, as she began to pour sugar within her tea.
Busying herself with the stirring of her tea, she contemplated the girl's words. Years, huh? World domination was certainly a difficult task; if it could be accomplished within a short time, it would simply be too easy. Though it appeared as if Emily had a way to speed things up. Which led her back to the whole 'zombie invasion' idea.
Any girl with a fondness for robots with a <******** chainsaw attachment was okay in her book!
Setting her cup down gently upon the table, she propped up her elbows on the tables. "Hm." Hands folded together, she rested her chin within the support of her fingers. What to do.. what to do? She wondered, treating the matter with careful consideration. With a cheerful smile on her face, it was difficult to tell what she was thinking.
After a few minutes of silence, "I don't see why not." She answered with a furtive smile. It would be a fun way to pass her time, at the very least.
