There are many kinds of guilds that are all around Gaia and possibly on the rest of the web as well. Knowing what a guild looks like could give you either great pain, or great joy in your Role playing Career.

First off, if you receive an invite from someone that you don't know, take a look at his or her profile first. If they are of the age of say around 13, then it might be likely that they are n00bs themselves.

Alternately, you can take a look at the guild yourself if you have the option. Take a notice of the various members of the guild. If they can type in proper grammar, then you are safe...for now that is.

Of course, take a look at the number of shows that a guild has. More than 2, excluding inactives, is not a good sign of the guild's success.

Take a look at the number of titles. It should be proportionate towards the number of active people there are in the guild. A safe rule, in my opinion, is that if a guild has more than five (Heavy, Light, Tag, Womens, and other), then you should not join.

You should also see how many literate people there are in the guild. If most and I mean 99.9 percent of the people in the guild can type in semi proper grammar, then you are in the clear.

Definition of proper grammar in layman's terms, type every word out except for some internet slang.

Take a look at how a card is book and how active people are in the guild. Look for the most recent posts. If people post on their matches after a day or two the last post happened, then you are in the clear.
