Chaesha yawned slightly, getting up from the rock she'd been half-napping on all day. She didn't mind the sun, actually ... she simply ... preferred the night. The darkness. It spoke to her in ways that daylight never could. It made her feel more alive, and the part of her that loved the kill and the blood seemed to almost... stir in excitement once the sun went down. Tonight... she rather thought that she'd like to hunt for a while, before moving on.
She'd been searching for some time, for a place with others like here. Others who liked the night, who felt something -more-, who enjoyed pain ... but she hadn't found it yet. Soon, perhaps...soon.

Tormenting the weak was always so much fun. Watching them wiggle and writhe in agony, moaning to be set free. Ukukwi, unfortunately, knew nothing of the real pain she loved to pretend she could inflict on others. At most she tormented her food and the odd smal animal she came across in the rogue lands. There was nothing fun about it, though, not like she knew it could be. If only she had more strength in her frail body!
How she loathed being unable to fight, her delicate frame too weak to handle any real amount of damage. Sighing heavily, she moved slowly over the land, glad to know it would soon be night. Night was the time she could feel more alive, at one with the darkness. Though it seemed she would not be alone- there was another female not too far from her.
"Oh," she grumbled, "great. And here I thought I would get some time to myself. Who are you and what are you doing around my home?"

Chaesha paused at that... and turned veeery slowly to eye this new lioness who had suddenly shown up. She raised a brow. "Your home?" she asked, flicking her tail back and forth once. "Who says that it's yours? There weren't any markers that I noticed..."
Cajanic
"I say that it's mine," she replied with a huff, as though the whole thing had been something the other lioness should have already known about. Filling her in now was just a waste of time, "this is where my den is, this is where I live, so that means that this is my home. What's the matter? Don't you know what it means for someone to have a home of their own? You don't need to put out markers or anything!" She watched the other, keeping her tone neutral for the time being. Just because she was grumpy didn't mean she needed to be completely rude to this stranger. Especially since she looked like she could kick her a**.
Manda
Chaesha snorted. "You do if you want to go around getting all pissed off at anyone who's just passing through here," she pointed out with a little shake of her head. This lioness was -obviously- no threat to her, so she didn't have a problem with standing around arguing. That could be fun sometimes. "I was planning to go hunting too... you going to tell me that all of the prey around here belongs to you?"
Cajanic
"Of course not, only retarded lionesses would think that all the prey could belong to one creature," she informed the other rather rudely, sticking her nose in the air as she debated whether or not she would allow the other to hunt. "Anyway," she said once a decision was found, "I think I would like to see how you hunt now that you've bothered me this much. The least you could do is put on a show for me, right? I'm not asking you to share or anything, just let me see what you can do." She smiled at that, tilting her head to one side.
"You up for a challenge?"
"You up for a challenge?"
Manda
Chaesha blinked at that. Whaaaat. So now this little weakling wanted to watch her hunt? Why? Just to watch..? That was kind of ... stupid. She didn't -mind- really, she just... didn't get the point of it. But when the other put it in the terms of a challenge... well. She snorted. "Fine. If you want to watch, watch. But don't get in my way."
Cajanic
"It wouldn't really be watching if I got in the way, now would it?" she grunted with a shake of her head. This whole thing was rather strange, but who was she to complain? If she wanted to see how stronger animals hunted, this was the only way to go about. How else was she supposed to learn on her own? Moving forward, she motioned for the darker lioness to follow her, heading slowly towards a small section of dying trees near a watering hole. "The gazelle usually like to gather here," she said, "looks like they already have."
Manda
Chaesha narrowed her eyes at that - wondering why this lioness didn't just hunt for herself, if she knew exactly where the gazelle gathered. But then again, she looked rather like a weakling. Hmph. As long as she didn't try to steal any of Chaesha's dinner.
Eyeing the herd of gazelle, Chaesha circled around them a time or two. She was looking for the weaker gazelle, or even a young one... sick .. something.

Ukukwi sat down fairly far from the herd, though still within sight range. She didn't want to get too close and disrupt the main event. If she could see how other animals hunted, maybe she could make her own technique better. She caught food well enough, but it never seemed to be good enough for a large animal. There had to be something that she hadn't learned from her parents.
She watched the search begin, smiling to herself. This was going to be interesting. This lioness looked like she knew what she was doing.

After a couple of circles, Chaesha spotted not one ... but two young gazelle. Together... and conveniently wandering away from their mother a bit. She was still far enough from them that none of the prey-beasts had caught her scent or seen her yet. But now... it was time to get closer. Moving slowly, the dark lioness crouched below the level of the grass and worked her way in. She was careful not to make any noise and paid attention to the wind, keeping herself upwind of the herd.
Cajanic
Watching, Ukukwi couldn't help but tense up, like she was the one on the hunt instead of the larger lioness. She smiled as she saw the other lock onto her target, wondering which of the two she planned to pick off. A small animal for a kill. Not a bad choice, considering how easy they were to take out when they wandered from the herd like that.
Still, it wasn't enough to simply know which one to go for. It was the attack that she really wanted to see. The waiting was the hardest part. Shifted her claws into the dirt, she continued to observe, hoping to see something she couldn't do on her own.

Chaesha wasn't planning to get just one of them, though. She was hoping to get -both- if she could. It would be more meat, that was for sure. And they were both pretty stupid to wander off ... they should be paid back for that. Smirking, she crept ever closer...
Until finally she was just a few feet away from the young gazelle. Still, even then ... she waited. Waited for the perfect moment... before leaping out of concealment. She went for the gazelle that was farther away first - aiming for it's legs. If she could hamstring this one so it couldn't run, she could take her time with the other.

She wanted to shout- cheer the other on. In the heat of a hunt, when she wasn't the one doing the work, so much energy built up it was hard to know what to do with it. She could see the other getting closer and closer to her target. It was like waiting for something really exciting to happen! So much trouble in just waiting around!
But she needed to hold tight and silent, or she would ruin the whole thing.
Biting her tongue, she sank against the ground, hiding herself in the tall grass while keeping her eyes locked on the other female. It was close now. Soon she would see what a real hunter could do.

Chaesha managed to get a paw under the farther of the two young animals - actually tripping it so that it fell over with a cry. Hm... not quite what she wanted, but it would have to do. The other was already running. But in its panic, the small animal didn't realize that it was darting right by the hunter. Spinning, the lioness jumped onto its back and bore it down to the ground - biting at the back of its neck for the kill. This young, it wasn't hard to do at all...
But by that point, the one she had tripped was getting up. And she spun again, leaping onto it and repeating the bite... even as the rest of the herd thundered away. Raising her head, Chaesha roared at them in triumph - already thinking of how she would feast upon their young.

It was amazing! Two kills in one hunt- now that was something she could never do. But she had studied the style and the way the lioness moved, so she would at least have something to attempt to mimic the next time she got around to hunting. She knew she would need to do something to improve herself, though, if there were hunters out there who could move so well!
Slowly, she headed towards the two kills, having no interest in the meat itself as she locked eyes with the other lioness. "That was very impressive!" she admitted, though it pained her to do so, "I don't think I've ever seen someone take down two at once, even little babies like this."

Chaesha smirked as the other lioness came closer. "It's just a matter of skill," she purred in satisfaction - having already started to pull chunks of meat from one of the gazelle. She rather liked hunting young animals...their flesh was always tender, and they tended to be stupid and make themselves easy to catch.
Cajanic
"Well, that's really all I wanted to see, so I suppose I should leave you to your kills. I have other things I need to be doing," like cursing her inability to properly hunt on her own, or practicing so she might be able to catch two things on her own as well one day. Maybe she would find her den and just take a nap, first, as she was starting to feel tired. Her body wasn't built for prolonged time standing. Turning, she started back towards her home, tail swishing as she went. "If you want to come hunting here again, I don't have a problem with it. Like I said before, I don't own the animals that come around here. Just... let me know anyway, okay? So I can watch. Nothing more than that."
Manda
Chaesha blinked at the other lioness, then shook her head just slightly. "Sure, whatever," she replied - ripping off another chunk of meat. It didn't even occur to her to offer some of her kill to the other, since the watcher had said she didn't want Chaesha to share. Why help, when they were all on their own anyway?
