But what constitutes assimilation?


As a Reform Jew, I don't keep Kosher. I light candles for Shabbat but I don't really observe it. I only wear my kippah in Synagogue or in Judaic study. I don't grow peyot.
In fact, I throw out a whole damn lot of what Leviticus says.
But I believe in YHVH in my heart and I am religious and spiritual.

Is a Reform Jew assimilated?


What about a Messianic Jew? Is that assimilated?

Reconstructionist?

Conservative or Orthodox? xd (No way)



What of the 10 lost tribes who blended in to Assyrian and related culture in exile? The tribes we think we're starting to find? Like the Torah reading Ethiopian Jews? were they ever really assimilated?



Does it matter what you practice? Or just what you believe?
