Drizzt opened up the contest decision-making to you members, and this is my favorite idea so far.
Here is how it will work out:
1: You will join the contest by posting in this thread.
2: You will write a short story.
3: You will send it to me and I will read over it, then send it to a friend who does not know any of you (except one) so there will be no unfair judging.
4: Deadlines for joining are January 10th at 10PM Central time (which is 6 hours away as of right now)
5: winners will be decided on and given a prize.
I am looking for GOOD short stories. Guidelines:
1. A storyline of some form is required.
2. NO randomness. I don't wanna read about how your dog was burping up coca-cola if it has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STORYLINE.
3. More than 3 paragraphs unless acceptable by me.
Prizes will be as follows:
1st prize: 40k unless I decide on a higher prize.
2nd prize: 25k "_________________________"
3rd prize: 10k "__________________________"
I may decide on a higher prize. You are writing a short story, which is mostly off the top of your head probably. Were you expecting a larger prize?

Uh... There's no specific theme or such to follow?
Just anything that stays on topic no random and minimum of 3 paragraphs?

No randomness as in it needs to be a literate story. I don't want a random story to read... You can put a random story, but unless I like it, or my other judge likes it, you will most likely not win any of the prizes
