Heels/Faces
Faces are going to be over the Heels a lot.
Good guys triumphing over Bad guys, a story told throughout the ages but in wrestling...

Not always so, remember to do an even split between faces and heels.
If there are more faces in a guild than heels, then have the heels win more matches and vise versa.

Give a reason why the face needs to triumph over the heel.
Perhaps the heel won a title from the face by "devious methods" and constantly outsmarts the face in every attempt to get the title back.

Give the face a fighting chance and perhaps a few cards down the line he wins it back.
(I'm sure you've seen enough wrestling on tv to put your own spin on this)

Am I right in saying standard WWE-style ring psychology is for the heels to lead most of the match and then the faces have their big comeback at the end?

Quite often when I play heel this can be over-looked by others, but if I play face I try to let my opponent get the upper-hand, as long as they don't try stupid stuff like DDTs as their first move etc.

It depends on how its played and what story you're trying to tell. Take Chrono owning EEW. Many people challenged him and 9 times out of 10 he wouldn't even bother with him. Was he playing the cowardly heel? No, he just didn't see them worth his time.

Cause that's how he is. I have preferences in who I face and I often choose to face someone I know I can get a story out of rather than the first person that challenges me.
