Kona was happy she had done it at last she had found her companion, well technically she hadn't but she was as close as she had ever been. She had met someone who had seen her, she knew she exsisted it was brilliant it was going to happen and she knew that she wasn't far from her home, her home was where ever that wonderful little cheetah was.
With her happiness surrounding her Kona was walking towards where she was sure she could find her firend, not paying attention to what was going around her, she walked to the beat of a song that was being sung inside her head.

The massive lion slowly trotted along, covering the paces of three normal steps in just one. His large paws gently touched the ground, and he was careful to look for things so he wouldn't crush them. It had become the one thing in life he feared- crushing small, defenseless animals. It's why he was always so careful when around the cubs of the pride, and his own beloved Kana.
His dark eyes traced the ground, flicking systematically between the ground and the horizon, not really sure where he was going for the day. He just wanted to think about things, and make himself feel less guilty about loving such a small cub. He had gotten the approval he so yearned from her mother, but he couldn't help but feel on edge as he roamed about, not wanting for others to judge him.
Going along, his eyes crossed the striped pelt of something small, and he stopped immediately in his tracks. The small serval was about the size of one of his massive paws, its head like a toe.

Kona froze when she saw the huge lion. She was frightened to say the least, the lion was so huge, she had never seen a creature so large before. She was drawn to him, but yet she was still afraid for her own life, and the life of the unborn ones inside her, the ones she had yet to tell anyone about, the ones that made her realize how importnant it was to find Hetal. Finding Hetal would mean finding home, home where her kittens would be safe.
She froze and watched the large lion moving, she couldn't beleive that he was able to move all that mass at once without injuring himself. She wanted to greet him to talk to him but she was afraid that he might cause her harm.

"Ah..." Teleza sighed, glad that he hadn't been distracted. Though, looking down, he didn't know why small creatures froze up when faced with danger. If it had been reversed, Teleza would have run as fast as he could away from another animal as large as he was. It's not that he was menacing, not anymore, but he knew well that his size could intimidate others. Except his Kana. She had been the one little one that wasn't afraid of him.
"You shouldn't just stand there like that when someone is about to accidentally step on you." He smiled, his deep voice echoing. If this experience taught her nothing else, it should teach her how to move out of the way. "Or at least make a sound. Are you just going to stay quiet the whole time?" He laughed a little, not feeling the need for his normal manners around such a small thing. It was more the fact that she wasn't a lion that made him not care to speak first.

"I am sorry, it was rude of me. I just have never met someone quite as large as you." she smiled why she said that she really didn't mean to sound rude, but he was quite huge. Clearing her throught she sat down, "I guess that it was surprising to see a creature that was easily one thousand times my size, I mean look my head is the size of your toe." she giggled.
"My name is Kona." she said finally settling down a little and treating the lion before her as a normal creature opposed to the gaint he was.

"The same excuse for everyone." Teleza laughed it off, knowing that everyone seemed to say the same thing. He had come to be less and less offended by remarks about his size; he saw it as a great asset, a power that could only be used to help his pride in dark times.
"Well, little one, size does matter out in the savannah." He raised an eyebrow to her, a small smirk on his face. It was out of character for him to be so happy and smiley, but it was probably, again, the fact that he wasn't talking to another lion.
Kona? Kona. Kana. Kona. Kana. Ooooh crap. On the one day he thought he could have a clear conscience, Teleza found his thoughts tracing back to the small, gray, beautiful cub. His dark eyes, drifted up towards the sky, and his mind faded even more.

Kona noticed an change in the lion before her, had her name somehow offended him was there something wrong with him. Her brow knitted with worry. She hoped that he was going to be ok.
"Are... are you ok." she mummbled, today of all days she wanted to be happy, she was on her way home, a home with her Hetal, she knew she was getting close, but if this lion had a problem she would have to help him before moving on, no matter the size of the creature in the savannah she would never leave anyone in need it was just not the creature that she was.

His eyes widened for a moment, then, hearing the voice of the other, came back to where he was. He looked around for a few moments, then his smile returned. "Hm?" He leaned down, so his head was on a level better suited towards the small serval.
He hadn't heard what the little thing had said past her name, so whatever just happened didn't phase him at all. "So your name's Kona, hm? It's pretty." Pretty, namely, because it was extremely close to Kana's name. "My name is Teleza." His smile shrunk as he said his name; thoughts of how the queen of his former pride used to say his name. Teleza's dark eyes twitched momentarily, hiding the dark past that he wouldn't reveal to anyone.

"Well its nice to meet you Teleza." Kona said in a voice louder than she usually used when tlaking to others, but she felt she needed to talk loud to ensure this lion would be able to here her, his head was so high compared to where she stood.
"Do you live aorund her Teleza?" she asked, it was one question the Kona asked many creatures, home was somehting that Kona thought was very important and she was always interested in finding out what others defined home as. She sat waiting to hear what the large lion would have to say, everyones answer tended to be different and she found it so interesting.

"Ah, so you think." Teleza smiled brightly, his meaning hidden behind his happiness. He hated to hear the words, not wanting others to know who he really was. "Well, I do believe it's a pleasure for me, then. You seem like a sweet little thing." He flicked his tail, trying to change the subject and move on to her next topic. Teleza hated talking about himself.
"Yes, my pride is near here." His pride gave him a sense of purpose. Teleza had become a dog, and there were only two that could command him. "It's quite a wonderous thing." After Teleza had witnessed the slaughter of his pride years ago, he didn't know what he would do. But the rebanding of the survivors had given him hope for the rest of his life.

Kona smiled, another soul from a pride, she quite enjoyed when she found these. Few who lived in the savanahh out in the open all alone understood what it fetl to be in a pride, to have a sense of belonging and worth, it had meant so much to her when she was young to have that home. As her thoughts driftened on about her old home her face became sadder and sadder, "I miss my pride, my home, its been so long." she found herself saying. She didn't want to be sad she wanted to be happy she knew that she was close.
She shook her head lightly, "I am sorry, I slipped away for a moment there. You see I too come from a pride, but my pride ended a long time ago and I lost everyone that meant something to me, including the young cheetah that I was in charge of at the time. I have been searching for her for years, and I am finally so close, I have caught her sent a few times in the past few days, I still remember it like the back of my own paw." she smiled talking abotu her Hetal... it was really only a matter of time now.

"Don't lose hope, my dear." Teleza smiled, knowing all too well how she felt. "As long as there are those that live, your pride lives on. I know that for a fact." He dipped his head. His cubhood friend had been the one to run with him, albeit in seperate directions. He was also the one to gather them up again, years later.
"Well, if she lives, you will find her. That, too, I am certain of." His smile calmed, and his eyes eased. "I think it's that determination that will bring you to her." Teleza wasn't determined. Not at all. He was frightened, beaten, and had a killer look in his eye when his pursuer had found him. "I think that you'll be fine." He could tell by the kind nature she had shown him.

Kona smiled thankful for the kind words from Teleza, "Thank you my dear" she said quietly. "With those words I should take my leave, if I am going to find her I must keep looking." she said with a smile.
Kona didn't waste anytime she rose to her feet and got ready to depart. She gave Teleza one quick nod before turning and heading to the last place she had been able to smell Hetal from there she was certain she would be able to find her.

"Ah, goodbye small creature." Teleza smiled as he watched her leave. It had been an.....interesting time together. He felt 'superior' to the small thing. Not in rank, but he didn't feel threatened by her, so it was easy for him to talk to her. It helped that she was sociable, too.
Knowing she had her own trek, Teleza remembered his own. He wanted to change, if only for that small cub that waited for him back at home.
