Now, Catrisa Newsom would never be the one to admit that she lived a sheltered life, because she was allowed to visit her friends and the city on her own. In fact, her parents never seemed to nag her about her studies, even though they taught her themselves. No, she loved her life and grew up happy and pampered, but she always missed one thing. The girl, while on her travels to the city, watched from afar the creatures that lived among humans, but never got the chance to have her own.
The girl had never really experienced all that was pokemon.
Settled on a bench in the park, the hooded 14-year-old swung her legs and watched the owners, her eyes wide and her mouth set. It was almost depressing, to see her friends get more and more pokemon and be the only one without. They would play games and have battles, and yet here she was on the side lines, like a child in time out.
"This is so frustrating!" She cried out suddenly, and crossed her arms with a noticable huff. People paused from their walk to stare, and she blushed before looking to her feet. One day she would get a pokemon, she knew that much, but for some reason she was ready to have it be today.
"Fat chance that will happen..." She mumbled a moment later, raising ehr eyes to look at the trainers in the park once more.

Oh park. How I've missed you.
It had been the first day he had gotten to be back in his element, the outdoors, since he had went to the new city. Only being one day he felt as though it had been a week since he'd gotten to smell organic air and see real vegetation. Inhaling deeply the almost adult male took in all he could. As his metal knee high boots clinked on the cement of one of the various park trails, he ignored all the stares he got. Mostly from women. Sure he wasn't wearing a shirt, but he didn't care. Who'd want to in this great weather. This way he could feel the pulse of the ecosystem. The Sun's obnoxious beams didn't phase him either, as his tan skin glistened from the starting of persperation, for he'd been used to it. A dark grungy bandana held back his short crimson curls, and caught any sweat that dared to run down his forehead. Aviators on, his eyes were fully guarded and free to wander as they pleased.
Continuing on his path, hands in his pockets with his thumbs peaking out, he slowed and turned to a girl who had made a scene a bit ahead of him. Giving only a glance, he wrinkled his nose in annoyance and pressed on, a bit more cautiously incase she was a nutcase. The luxury ball that dangled from a chain on his belt loop glimered as the Sun's rays bounced off of it playfully.

The blush that lined her cheeks slowly faded after her outburst drifted away with the people who walked. It was at that moment that the last heat fell, that a strange glint caught her eye. She looked around quickly, her hood falling back as she stood and her short brown locks catching the light breeze. It was than her eyes landed on the man, and she simply stared. He was walking toward her, and she could tell he was a trainer much like everyone else.
Suddenly, she got the inspiration to ask him questions, hear about his life and learn what might happen if she chose to go down that path. Grabbing the bottom of her dress nervously, she took a deep breath before a grin crossed her features, attempting to work on the charm of a curious girl to get all the answers she needed.
Hey, it worked on her parents, why not work on a stranger too?

Having returned his attention back to the path he had started, his eyes remained straight infront of him. But one could not tell, due to his aviators covering. In his periphial vision he could see that the girl now stood, with a look of intent in her body language. Oh man... please don't beg me for somethin`.. please... His teeth clenched inside his closed mouth, causing the corners of his jaw to twich out slightly.
The clink of his metal boots continued as he prepped himself to pass by the girl without giving her a glance. The grin on her face only made him even more uncomfortable, but he maintained his constant pace. Maybe if he just tried to blend in with the passerby's around him she would go to someone else.

Her grin faltered as she noticed he was making to ignore her, and she resisted the urge to let out a huff and stamp her foot. It would not do if she wanted to befriend the man and learn about pokemon training. Thinking a moment longer, though keeping it quick so he wouldn't pass her by, she made the decision to be direct, and quickly stepped right in his way.
"Hello! You are a pokemon trainer right?" She asked softly, waving her hand and hoping he would notice her this time. She wouldn't be too pleased if he continued to walk by, buy maybe he couldn't see. All these thoughts raced through her head as she kept her hand high and waited for his reaction.

Cringing as he saw her pull infront of him, his body tensed. Dang.. so close... a silent sigh escaped his mouth. Straightening up he took a look at her. Well there was no getting around this. Might as well take it. Removing his glasses, he blinked his turquoise eyes lethargically. "No, kid. I'ma breeder.." Placing his sunglasses in a belt loop, he looked to his conceiled Pokemon. Of all the people in the park it had to be him who was chosen by this little small fry. Looking the girl over, he thought she couldn't be any more than twelve. Where the heck were her parents? Why was she all by herself? His eyes scanned around them quickly for any sign of someone coming to claim her to their party, but he found none.

Eyes narrowed at the statement of his job, as well as the tone and stance he took with her. If she knew better, she would have realized he didn't want to be bothered, but he did answer her question. Because of that, she simply smiled and looked at his belt.
"A breeder? Isn't that just like a trainer? You have your own pokemon, and you try and collect them all...? Sure, you aren't battling, but you still are trying to get pokemon...right?"
She was full of questions, and her voice was full of excitement at the prospect of answering. Maybe, if she was lucky, he would even show her a pokemon and let her pet it. Though she was smart enough to not push her luck too much with the adult.
