Living in Washington, surrounded by forest and cold, lives a odd teenage boy, surrounded by a school full of 'normal' students. X doesn't have any friends, he is considered an outcast, freak, goth, but he is just misunderstood. The only thing he really had for himself was his camera. X was always taking pictures, a long flower in a field of dead grass, a spider web with morning dew stuck to various parts of the web. And there was always that one odd Victorian style house that he loved. It sat at the very end of a dead end road. Nobody lived in it, but it was kept neat by the owner who hardly went in. X's teacher goes missing, is never found. His class gets a new teacher. Nobody has seen him yet. The old house that X loves is filled in with a new owner, the lights are and in some parts of the house. And oddly enough, he never sees any moving trucks. X lives a few houses down and sees the odd house everyday.
At the beginning of the week, his Art class finally is able to meet their new teacher. X instantly finds this man odd... very odd. He is sickly pale, but beautiful, with striking green eyes with deep brown hair, almost black. There are things in X's new teacher that makes him suspicious. Believing in old wives tales such as angels, demons, hell hounds, lycan, vampires, and even bean-nighes. He suspects his teacher of being one of those things that they are warned about as a child. At lunch, he remains in his room and takes a single black pill out of a small box. Occasionally, X catches his teacher, glancing at necks and even looking troubled just before lunch when he takes the small black pill. Then the perfect chance comes. He finds out that the new neighbor is actually his odd new teacher.
Taking pictures of his home, of him when he isn't looking, X, believes that his teacher is a vampire. What he doesn't know is that with every step he takes to getting closer to finding out the truth of his teacher, he takes a step closer to being thrown right into a wives tale.

Another cold... rainy... depressing day... perfect! Victor got out of his car, smiling as he looked at the new school he'd be teaching at. His bright green eyes scanned the area. Nobody. He smiled to himself, taking a deep breath. The leftover smell of young blood coated the school. The man walked briskly as he made his way to the administration building and asked the older, plump woman at the front desk for his attendance sheets. He wasn't new to this at all. He thanked her with a toothy smile and walked off to his class. It was in the basement of the back building, where he wouldn't be getting any sun at all. Reaching up, Victor dragged a long nail over his canine tooth scraping it before running his tongue over the front of his upper teeth then clicked them together. Pulling out the ring of keys, Victor unlocked the door to his class room. Taking another deep breath, the man shivered, his fangs momentarily exposing themselves, but with a quickly correction went right back to being normal, human teeth. Glancing at the clock, he got things ready for his students before they started to come in. He opened the cabinets for when the students would come in. Before the bell rang, a few students wandered in, slowly walking in as they spotted Victor. They didn't speak to him, and he just gave them large smiles. When the bell did ring and all the students filed in, he stood and walked to the front of the class. "Welcome, I know that you were expecting a substitute... again, but I will be your new Art teacher. My name is Mr. Chase. Now... why don't you all get started on your surrealism projects, and you are to paint with acrylics. Don't be shy to ask for help as well. " He asked as he look around at all the fresh faces, the blood pumping below their skin. A few girls in the back of the class giggled and leaned over whispering to each other. "Is there something you's like to say to the class?" He asked them, getting their attention and making them all blush and shake their heads.

A wonderful rainy day again. The temperature was just right. A young man was in some underbrush with his trusty camera around his neck. As normal people would be running for cover from the rain the young man stayed in it. The feel of the water going down his body, his neck and arms it all felt good. It had a soothing touch that only he knew. His camera was perched, looking down at a leaf with raindrops on it. Click. He got the picture he wanted. Alex checked his watch realizing that school would be starting in an hour.
Scrambling up from the underbrush he made his way back onto the path. The old house that he loved was close by. The house itself and the area around it was a favorite spot for photography. There was so much to choose from. He broke into a quick pace walk to his car. Once he was inside the vehicle and took his jacket off slipping on another one. Then he was off to school.
He got a parking spot like usual, though it was far away since it was a rainy cold day. He grabbed his messenger bag running into the school building. The bell rang just as he got into the classroom. He slipped into the back unnoticed as usual. He had a vacant seat next to him since no student wanted to sit next to the freak of the school. The teacher spoke, the new teacher. Alex thought that this went fast. His old teacher wasn’t gone that long yet they already got a new teacher for the job.
The boy shook his head and focused on the work that he had to do for the class. He was nearly finished with it. He use to have a deal with his old teacher that he could use his photos for the works of art, though with this new teacher he wasn’t so sure that he would allow that.

They all seemed to get used to their new art teacher quickly and were constantly asking him to come over to them so he could help them with their painting. Many had never painted with acrylics before, having trouble with blending and correcting mistakes. Finally when he had some free time, Victor walked around looking at everybody's paintings. He went over to a student that was practically done and was actually good at it, unlike everybody else. Victor set a large hand on the vacant seat next to the teen and looked at his painting. On the middle finger of his hand was a silver ring that had all sorts of knots, spirals and delicate designs. "Hm..." Victor's voice was low and soft. "you're quite good at that." He spoke to the male student. Now with actual words, his voice was smooth, deep and gentle. "Where did you get such an idea for a painting?" He asked him, his full lips slowly moving as his odd bright green eyes traveled upwards to the teen's face. "Alex... right?" he said with a small smile, his canine teeth oddly sharp. He had taken a look at the seating chart before going around and helping all of the students. He could still see that chart in his head. "You know, the school holds an art show in a few months for the first semester. I'm sure you can get alot more done to put into the show..." Victor let his large hand slide off the desk, the silver ring scraping against the false wood. He moved away from Alex and the nonexistent person, the empty seat, and moved on to others who needed his help. One of the girls in the front had purposely made mistakes so she could ask Victor for his help. "I don't know what I did wrong Mr. Chase." She spoke in her fake innocent voice. "Well... you dumped black paint over your drawing." He said as he looked at the paper with the drawing of her painting that had large black blotches covering over half. He sighed and shook his head. "Well now... you'll just have to remember what it looks like and fix it yourself." Victor wasn't the one to play games with stupid females that acted like they didn't know what was going on, which was why he switched over to males. "Okay class... it's time to clean up. The bell will be ringing in five minutes. And anybody who would like to catch up can stay for the next period. I have a free period next." Victor looked around at the bored, day dreaming and the admiring face of his students. "And I thank you for being such good students on my first day." He gave the class an odd, dark and creepy smile.

The class was going well as usual. His fingers made some lines on the painting. He used his fingers to blend the colors of the background together. It turned out to be like a sunset. Alex’s eyes were down on his painting, focused. So he saw the hand instead of the person first. He wrapped his leg around the chair. He focused on the silver ring that was on the teacher’s. Mr. Chase’s voice sounded something like a movie stars or something. “Thank you sir.” He replied still staring at the ring. He memorized how it looked already.
Alex moved his head a bit so that his eyes were actually on his painting. “It just came to me. Like most ideas do.” He said in a soft voice. He never liked when a teacher singled him out in a class. He nodded signaling that the teacher got his name right. At the mention of the art show he shook his head. “That sounds like a really nice idea, but it’s not for me.” That was the truth. He loved art, but rarely did he like other’s seeing his work. He was shy about it.
Why are girls so stupid? When a good looking teacher shows up they are head over heels for him. It’s ridiculous. Alex thought of it like a show gone bad that is. He felt bad for Mr. Chase since it seemed like a hassle to deal with these girls. Not to mention that he has to deal with them for the rest of the year.
He started to clean his area, which wasn’t very hard. He was rather neat when it came to his work. You better lock your door Mr. Chase or you are going to have girls fawning over it. Alex thought to himself. He looked up after he thought that and went a bit cold at the feet. That smile looks suspicious. He shook his head. He didn’t want to think about that.

Five minutes later, the bell rang and students began to file out. A few girls stayed back. "Mr. Chase? Could we stay... please?" They asked with big eyes. "Nope. You both have classes that you need to go to. they're important to your graduation." He said and nodded his head off to the door. "Now get going." He said in a stern voice. They pouted and complained as they left the room. Soon, all students were out of the class room. Sighing, Victor pulling out a medium sized canvas. He quickly sketched a Victorian styled woman and moved over to one of the back desks, closest to the acrylics and started to paint. Being alive for the time he had, he had mastered all types of paints and styles. He spent a long time just painting her porcelain face with a hint of marble pink in her cheeks. He wasn't sure weather a student would come in to work on their projects or not. Victor was bent forward, his hair pulled off to one side, a silver necklace slipped out from the collar of his shirt. It was of a silver rose with a bit of red. His dark brown hair slipped from over his shoulder a few times, making him stop to pull it back adn drape it over his shoulder. The bell had ran, he didn't even realize that time had gone by so quickly. Finally lunch time, each class being about two hours long. Victor put the paints away, and put his own painting behind his desk, keeping it out of the way. Taking out his keys, Victor unlocked a drawer in his desk and pulled out a small box, opening it, he then pulled out a black capsule, putting it in his mouth then swallowing it and put away the small box locking the drawer back up.

The bell rang? Alex looked around the room seeing the students leave. He rubbed his head wondering what happened. He might’ve just zoned out for a moment. The messenger bag was filled, so he was ready to go to his next class. Girls went up to the teacher, just like he thought. He rolled his eyes listening to them. It was ridiculous. He was surprised hearing the teacher tell them go to class. That got Mr. Chase some points in Alex’s book. The boy made his way out of the room soon after the girls. He didn’t want to be left alone with the teacher. Besides he had a class to get to as well.
Again he was slipping inside his next class so not to get yelled at. It was English. They were reading Hamlet was it? Sometimes Alex just spaced during this class. He knew the book and got good grades. Besides he didn’t have friends to distract him. He had some doodles in his notebook as the teacher read the suicide speech by Hamlet. He heard the bell ring and couldn’t believe it was that fast. The teacher was giving him a look that meant he really wasn’t paying attention.
Alex couldn’t help how spacey he was lately. He was thinking about the new teacher, Mr. Chase and what could’ve happened to the old teacher. Not to mention who moved into that house. It was occupied, it had that feeling to it. He had a suspicion about Mr. Chase, but there were apartments. It was lunch so that’s where he walked to. Did he have anything to eat? No not really. His feet brought him to the art room. That’s right he use to always eat lunch here since it was too depressing sitting by one’s self in the lunch room.
He walked to his usual seat his head down. He thought it was odd that Mr. Chase was still in the room, but it was his room now. “Hey Mr. Chase I usually eat lunch in here. I won’t be a bother.” He said in a soft voice as he sat in his seat. What he did was look through his photos. There was a new project he wanted to start, but wasn’t very sure yet.

Victor jumped in his seat and coughed when Alex walked in. The pill came back up. he leaned forward, setting his mouth of his hand to spit it out into it. He reached over, taking a napkin, wrapping the black pill into it then tossing it into the trash. "Okay." Victor looked at the teen, watching him as he looked though something. Quietly, Victor unlocked the drawer again gently pulling out the same box, then pulled out another black pill. He was being as quiet as possible so he wouldn't draw attention to himself. Victor glanced up occasionally, then quickly stuck the pill into his mouth, leaning his head back drinking from his water bottle. Victor cleared his throat and reached into his bag, pulling out another, larger, black box. He pulled the top off. It was a bento box. White rice, tempura, two spicy tuna roll, salad and teriyaki chicken. He pulled out two dark blue chopsticks and glanced over at Alex. "You don't eat lunch?" He asked him, setting the sticks down. "It's not very healthy to skip lunch." He said and looked down at his own lunch. Technically, he didn't need to eat at all, but it was something to do and he did like cooking and tasting different ethnic foods. "Would you like some Alex? I had a big breakfast and I'm still quite full."

Alex looked up when he heard the coughing. He didn’t mean to scare the teacher. He felt a bit bad for that. Adjusting his camera to suit the right angle he wanted to look at the pictures, his eyes went up. He had to pause for a second thinking about what he saw. It was just the teacher taking a pill. Medicine probably. He said to himself as he shook his head, attention back on his camera.
The boy looked through his black side bag to get his notebook and a pen. He had to put his ideas down before he forgot them. He wrote down a couple notes before replying to what Mr. Chase said. Honestly he has heard that from every teacher. “Not usually.” Alex rolled his eyes. “I’ve been doing it for a while. I’m very much healthy.” He added. Teacher’s couldn’t keep their noses out of other’s business?
Alex was shocked by Mr. Chase’s request. “Um no thank you sir.” He felt nervous from the offer. Not to mention he was paranoid. Something could be in it. No no, that’s just crazy. That stomach of his gave him away though. It made a growl signaling that he was hungry. He blushed a bit and tried to ignore it.

Being a vampire held many advantages, and he was able to hear Alex's stomach growl. Victor laughed, smooth, seductive and deadly laugh. "Your mouth says one thing but your body says another." The man stood and brought the bento box over to the teen, setting it down with the two chopsticks. "Have at it." He smiled at the teen, his canine teeth much shorter and duller then they had been when he first arrived. The man ran his tongue over the front of his top teeth then clicked them. Victor sat down and pulled out his water bottle, taking the cap off and downing the rest of it. He sighed and went onto his computer, looking at the past grades of the students and what work they had done. Not surprisingly, Alex was at the top of the class, the best grades. Looking back at the projects he did, almost all of them had gotten an A+. He was actually impressed. Victor glanced over seeing if he was eating. He looked back at the computer. He seeked out the people he should look out for. Thankfully the teacher made notes about them. Some of them would throw things at the teacher and mock them and curse at them. Victor gave a twisted smile. There was no way that that kid was going to be doing anyhting like that to him.

Alex cursed softly when he heard that laugh. It sounded really nice and he just knew that the teacher heard his stomach. He felt clued to his seat when he heard the man’s feet make their way to him. “But Mr. Chase, I’m not that…hungry.” He finished his sentence after a little when he caught that smile. It was the teeth that seemed to catch his interest. He looked away when the older man made that click sound. The boy looked at the bento considering not eating, but his stomach voiced it’s opinion. Letting out a sigh he picked up the chopsticks.
The teriyaki chicken was very good though he stayed away from the spicy tuna rolls. Spicy never mixed well with the boy. Not to mention raw food. He ate the white rice and salad as well. There was a small smile on his face as he ate. He hadn’t had such a good lunch in awhile. The bento wasn’t eaten clean. There was some salad and chicken left. Such little amounts were able to fill him.
He felt a little embarrassed that Mr. Chase gave him food to eat. He didn’t want to give the teacher the wrong idea about him. Alex picked up the bento box along with the chopsticks walking to the front of the room. “Thank you for the bento Mr. Chase...” He said softly putting the box on the desk. The boy quickly went back to his seat. He wrote down another idea for a project of his. It clicked in his head since it involved food. It could give a message.

Victor closed the grade sheets, pulling up solitaire. One of his favorite games. His chin rested in the palm of his hand and his bright green eyes were half lidded as he stared at the computer screen. His face turned towards the teen, but his eye remained on the screen. Finally he tore his eyes away and looked up at him, smiling. "Of course." He smiled and gently took the box, his cold hand brushing the teen's warm hand. The man quickly froze, memories of hunting humans down for game and for feeding came back to him. Victor coughed and turned his head covering his mouth with his hand. He kept glancing at the teen then back to the floor. From those memorize brought back the desire and with that came the extension of his fangs. His eyes were still wide, his free hand shaking as they picked up his keys, opening the locked drawer and quietly taking out the same box. Taking yet another pill out. They told him that these pills would prevent from this happening. Victor slipped the pill into his mouth, hiding his fangs. Swallowing it and waiting, they slowly went down back to the same and size or normal teeth. With a small sigh, Victor sat up in his seat, running his hands over his face as he sighed again. That was far too close.
