In one of the tower basements, just above the Tactics Training Room is the League of Tactical Heroes War Room. This is where missions are planned and members are sent out on recon. The room is relatively dark, allowing for the holographic devices to be seen clearly as they demonstrate the locations and needs of the mission. It is composed of a massive table, oval shaped, and capable of seating up to 200 people at once. On the table in front of each seat is a holographic display device that shows whatever image the presenter wants everyone to see. In front of that is a computer screen that is completely touch activated.

Sara was having lunch at a deli when the call from the Strategist caught her attention. Due to her condition she couldn't see the screen, of course, but she heard the audio just fine. His message was as blunt as ever, as expected, but if he was calling all members then that meant something big was going to happen, something that Nova would not want to miss out on. She finished up sickly sweet soda and headed back to base. Once she got through security she heade straight down to the War Room as instructed, finding it already bustling with activity. Without a word, she found herself a seat and crossed her legs, waiting to hear what all of this was about.

Archive floated his Tactics cell up to eye level with his telekinetic powers. He quirked an eyebrow noticing that even on New Years Tactician was still as brusque as ever in his messages to the League of Heroes. He was perhaps more used to it then anyone could be due to the multitude of minds he had within himself. Shaking his head slightly the member of the Leadership council floated about through the tower till he came to the war room. Upon entering the room he noticed Nova was one of the first here. He sent the seated heroine a mental greeting. While perhaps colder then Strategist at times he at least made the effort to be polite. Good Morning Nova.

Unknown teleported to the front of the tower. He would've teleported inside, but the tower was meant to keep those unwanted out, so teleporting inside was somehow impossible. He walked to the front and was sent through security. The Strategist's message was new to him. There were few times when he actually saw the hero himself. He was busy, Unknown assumed. He found his way to the War room, only after getting lost a few times. He saw some other heroes there, but he went to the side and sat, waiting for further instructions.

As a telepath, Archive had picked up on all of Nova's secrets when she first requested membership into the League of Tactical Heroes. It was necessary as part of a screening process; having a telepath scour each new member's mind ensured that the organization could not be sabotaged from within. At first, she was rather offended at the mental intrusion, but came to accept it as a necessary precaution. The fact remained, however, that Archive was now one of the few people who knew about Nova's condition, specifically the terminal illness which came with her powers. For this reason, she was perpetually paranoid that Archive may be feeling pity towards her, as pity was the last thing she wanted. Because she was not a telepath herself, she could never ascertain his thoughts, as numerous as they were.

Good morning to you as well, Archive, she responded in her head, stiff and formal but not openly unpleasant.

Archive of course knew of Nova's condition and while he held some pity knowing that her life would be snuffed out so early he never expressed it. He though only being alive for 32 years had in his mind lived many many times longer then that due to the legion of people that now existed inside his head. He in someways envied the peace that death would bring. However he not once wished to die before his time. There was none who understood all sides of humanity better then one such as him. Some might say that would drive a man to evil however he had of course become one of the shining beacons of hope for the country.

He noticed another being enter the room and greeted them in a similar manner. Good Morning Unknown. After said greeting he floated over to his seat and gently slid his body into it telekinetically. He created brief links with the two others here and updated himself with the events that had transpired for the two individuals since he had last downloaded their minds. Of course he had become so skilled in this that nothing but another psychic could possibly know its happened. True he got a lot of flak for being a privacy invader but he cared not. Knowledge was power after all.

Not realizing it was a telekinetic greeting, he said ouloud, "Hello Archive." He noticed the action occuring with the Second-in-command changing his seat. He had seen this man many times before. He was doing things for the Strategist and just wandering around. Though, he never seen him in action before. he always hoped to fight alongside heroes such as Archive. He wanted to be the one to save these heroes and be praised for it, like his father would have. Man such a long time ago, not realizing his mind was being read.

Katran walked in, taking her seat at the table. She made sure to greet everyone before doing so, and once seated, tried to start a conversation. "Archive, did you try the chicken in the cafeteria? It tasted like rubber."

Joseph, or rather Quickdraw, was busy practicing in a small firing range when he received the call from the Strategist reached him. He pressed a button on his comm-link, or rather 'Tactics Cell' and listened to the message. It was nothing more than an order to assemble in the war room, and that meant they were most likely going to be heading out soon.

"Wonderful. Another chance to fight, another chance to lose part of the team."

He placed his communicator back onto the shelf in front of him before stepping back a few paces and taking aim with his rifle. A buzzer sounded and a targets started popping up and falling down. Quickdraw quickly dashed between each station, hitting each target the moment it came up. Half a minute and three magazines later, forty targets had been perforated with bullets. He stared at his handywork for a moment before picking up his comminucator and placing it on the belt of his suit and slinging his rifle over his shoulder. It was time to make it to the war room.

He slowly made his way through the Tactician's Tower, taking in everything along his way. Quickdraw was always moving fast, everything around him was usually nothing more than a blur. He enjoyed taking time out to simply walk, like normal people do.

After taking a bit longer than he needed to, Quickdraw finally reached the War Room. He checked in with security and left his rifle in their possession before entering the room and taking a seat somewhere around the massive oval table in the middle of the room.

"Sorry I'm late. I had to finish some target practice. I haven't missed anything, have I?"

Good morning Katran and no I did not personally try the chicken. If Katran was trying to make small talk to pass the time till Strategist showed up she certainly picked a poor person to start with. Archive might be trying to be polite at the moment but he felt no need to begin a conversation starting with the cafeteria's subpar food. Sensing the entrance of Quickdraw the powerful psychic turned his head to glance at the speedster. He briefly contemplated greeting the man in the same manner as the rest of the group of heroes currently assembled here however he really didn't feel like individually greeting every hero as they came into the War Room anymore.

User ImageThe ceiling in the center of the room had a large circular machine attached to it. The device was composed of metal, but the visible side of it, the side pointing downward, was a white plastic. Just as Quickdraw took his seat, the device lit up, sending a visible column of blue light straight downward to the floor, in the center gap of the room where no tables or chairs were. Amidst all the light appeared Strategist, or at least a projection of the man. He was presumably in his office, doing something he wasn't about to discuss. Despite his eyes being covered by an opaque visor, it was easy to tell that he was glaring at everyone in the room, his eyes piercing right through them.

Strategist was not a bad leader. He was extremely tough, stern, and goal-oriented to a fault, nearly, but Katran, his third-in-command, was almost a polar opposite that helped offset that demeanor. Strategist never asked anyone to do anything he wouldn't do himself, had he the means or ability. Overall, he wasn't a bad leader, he just wasn't the easiest person to make friends with. And you certainly wouldn't think to invite him out for drinks, despite how much good a little alcohol might do him.

"Listen up, League members," the man said, his voice as clear as if he was standing right there. "I received a report that Positron is tightening the border down the center of the country. Intelligence confirms that he intends to strike at one of the states that are still under dispute sometime in the near future, using the same surprise tactics he used during the beginning of the war. Meanwhile, we're making no progress in breaking through the force field covering the country. I'm going to assign you patrol routes for today, so listen carefully." Strategist's image vanished, replaced by a map of the country that highlighted sections as he mentioned them.

"I'm sending teams to several other locations, so I'm leaving Kansas and Nebraska to you. Archive will lead the first team to Nebraska, and Katran will lead the second team in Kansas. I want Nova and Unknown with Archive. Quickdraw, you and Katran will head to Kansas together, and I'll send backup when I can. You are to patrol the major cities in the state as quickly as possible and keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. If you receive a call on your Tactics Cell regarding an attack at some location, get there immediately without hesitation. If there are no questions about your assignment, head to your locations immediately." Strategist's face reappeared alone, zoomed in on in the hologram, appearing as nothing more than a disembodied head looking around the room at each member present.

"I have one question. Red Dot Sight, ACOG scope, or a Holographic Sight?" Quickdraw let out a quick laugh as he stood up from his chair and started for the door. "Anyway, I'll be waiting for you, Katran." He glanced over his shoulder and gave a slight wave to the rest of the heroes before leaving the War Room behind. He reclaimed his rifle from security and started to slowly make his way through the halls, heading for the room that had been assigned to him.

"So many choices, so little time. Red dot? ACOG? Holographic? Under-mounted Shotgun? Grenade Launcher? Maybe a thermal scope?"

Unknown was surprised, but didn't show it, when Strategist appeared. Man, this guy sure knows how to make an entrance. He listened carefully to his instructions. Nebraska. In all honesty The Unknown never left the East coast of the United States. Let alone past Michigan. But he was ordered to, so that what he must do. Archive and Nova were his partners. He knew some about them but not enough if a tactical situation was to arise. He nodded to himself as he was assigned to go with his team and sat patiently waiting for his new teammates. Hopefully he would be a part of the battle against Positron. He wanted to make a dent in this war.

Archive merely nodded his consent at the holographic display. While Strategist probably had audio pickups there was no guarantee he had psychic ones in this room and last time Archive checked the man's office was also shield from psychics. Since he didn't really bother using his voice there was no other way to acknowledge the mission at the moment. Floating out of his chair he sent mental messages to both Nova and Unknown at the same time. Nova, Unknown make any preparations you need to and then meet me in the transporter room for transit to our designated locale.

The powerful psyker floated out of the War Room as he passed by the cafe to pick up a meal. He hadn't eaten yet today after all. After obtaining his breakfast he floated to the transporter room and waited for the other two on his team to arrive as he ate his food with out using his hands. It seemed using telekinesis for everything was second nature to the man.

Ever the eager trooper, Nova stood up and gave a quick salute to the Strategist. "Understood, Archive," she responded mentally to his suggestion before heading out. All she needed to do was change out of her civilian garb, really. She had just had a 700 calorie meal and as such, was quite fueled and ready to go. She made her way to her living quarters, took off her outer clothes leaving behind the costume underneath, and went straight for the transport room. She picked up a cheap energy drink on the way, popping the cap open and sipping at it as she arrived. The thing tasted horrible, but it was full of sugar and was a quick way to top off the energy necessary to fuel her powers.
