The dew sparkled placidly on the leaves as the sun rose on the forest, creating another glorious morning. The air was chilly and crisp, and the dirunal life was already wide awake, birds whistling away, squirrels chattering overhead. A pair of mischievous golden-orange eyes peered through the foliage, eyeing a little gathering of birds in the clearing ahead. Flint was always up to some mischief, and he laughed as he burst out and scared the little birds away, darting back into the brush on the other end of the clearing.

How wonderful life had been lately. The young colt was all alone, and it seemed as if he were having a blast. He cantered through the brush with a childish, carefree air, and stopped as he reached another clearing in the wood. This one had a toppled tree, and he bounced out to climb up onto it, laughing to himself as he did. As usual he was just barely paying attention to who might else have been around. So cocksure was the little colt that he believed he could outrun most dangers, be they predators, or other soquili.

While the colt might be able to out run many could he out fly a soquili? Not every soquili had merely four hooves after all. But that was no matter, at least not now, as the Soquili moving through the forest, seeking a clearing and water, was not a dangerous sort. Rather this soquili looked quite innocent and peaceful, like his mother.

Moving toward where he heard a lot of movements, energetic movements, Silvera yelped rather loudly, his hair caught once more in some manner of nature. This time it was a branch that his hair was dragging, how lovely. Pulling his tail hair closer to his body he started to work on untangling the branch from his hair.

With the branch untangled from his hair Silvera continued on his way toward the clearing...and the colt. What an energetic little thing, like his sister had been as a foal.

Flint heard the stallion before he even caught sight of him. At the sound of the yelp the youngster jerked his head, ears swiveling about to pinpoint the direction from which it had come. He hesitated for a moment, not sure whether to run off, or investigate. His curiosity got the better of him, as always, and he hopped down to go and see what had happened.

The sight that met his eyes made his heart race, and he was very much surprised. He had never seen a soquili like this before! There were parts of him that glistened like the dew, or the stars in the sky on a clear night...and were those wings!? Just like a bird. He tilted his head as he saw that the other soquili's long hair was tangled in a branch, and smirked quietly.

He danced back when the unusual stallion had freed himself, and went back to the fallen tree, leaping over it and turning to face the stranger. "Hello there, I see you!" he called, his eyes shining with mischief, and intrigue over the stallion.

It was those dew drops of shimmer and shine upon his body which he had gained from his mother, as well as many other aspects of his appearance. The wings however he was proud to say where from his father, seeing as his two siblings had their mothers wings. He was proud to have taken that aspect of his fathers appearance, rather than it die out and no one have those wings aside from his father.

Looking to the foal he tilted his head for a moment. Had they seen the predicament he'd been in? It wasn't that he was embarrassed, how could he be with how often it happened, but it was something he didn't like being teased about often. And that was only because it became annoying really.

"Hello young one." A smile in place he approached the foal, keeping track of all his long hair the best he could, using his wings to aid him in this endeavor.

Though the colt was prone to teasing, he was still too taken aback, and impressed, by the other's appearance to do so, and grinned as he looked him over once he had stepped out into the clearing. The wings were what got him the most. He never knew a soquili could have wings. Not even after being separated from his mother had he seen someone this different.

"I've never seen anyone like you before. What's your name?" he asked, not shy at all. He hopped up to lean into the trunk of the fallen tree, resting his fore hooves on it. It was not often that he conversed with an adult, or any soquili really, as sometimes they tried to interfere with him. He liked things fine, however, and always found himself fleeing. It was all too easy to lose someone, especially in a forest.

It was true he'd been stared at, how could he not ever have been stared at? But by a colt, that was something new. He'd never been stared at so intently by a colt. In all his time there were still soquili breeds he had not seen. He had never seen a skin walker, a kalona, a mer or any others that dwelled in the water.

Looking over the colt he smiled gently. "My names Silvera, and what about you little one?" He asked gently. Unfolding his wings, letting them drag the ground, they were white as the snow and soft as could be in appearance. While normally he'd expect to see a parent, he knew that sometimes foals were not with their parents all the time so didn't question it.

This one was the first unusual soquili Flint had ever met. And now he was noticing that horn as well. He supposed he would have to ask his mother about it, when he managed to find her again. He snorted softly, and hopped up onto the tree trunk. "My name's Flint. You're so...shiny! And those wings! I've never seen wings on anyone before. What are you? Can you fly?"

He was quite blunt, in the manner children generally were, and he let the questions pour out. He was sorely tempted to hop down and get a better look, to try and touch the wings. He watched as Silvera let them droop down, erasing any doubts he may have had of the feathered appendages somehow being fake. He could barely contain himself over it, it seemed so incredible.

How could he not chuckle at the child? Between the energy exhibited and the questions, the fascination, Silvera couldn't help himself honestly. He did remember what it was like being curious, and easily fascinated child. He supposed he should have figured he'd at least once encounter a foal like that.

"These wings." He gave his a small flap, letting them beat gently against the snow covered ground. "Are a trait I gained from my father and I can fly." Though not as high as Asa could, that was one draw back. "As for the shine that was a trait gained from my mother." Who surpassed him in shine, by a lot. His mother was really like a winter kissed star.

The youngster kicked a bit of snow that was clinging to the trunk, tilting his head as he listened. "Oh, I see....Where did you father get them?" he asked, and grinned, wandering toward the rooted up end of the tree. "I've never met my father." he said, flicking his tail. He finally leapt down on the side Silvera was, and trotted over to get a good look.

"Do you live around here?" he asked as he leaned in to nose one of the sparkling specks on the stallion's body with little regard to personal space. Silvera really was a spectacle to the colt. He couldn't help but wonder what his family might look like, as well as what it was like to fly.

"That I do not know little one. My father, I don't know of his parents." He said shrugging a bit. As far as he could gather his father had not been from here but had turned up here as a soquili. As for his mother he also didn't know of any parents, but also knew she had not turned up as a soquili as his father had.

"How is it that you never met your father?" Had this foal's father not wanted to meet his children and left the baskets and their mother? Or had he not even known he'd had baskets?

"I live deep in the woods, in a clearing. "We could go there if it pleases you." He offered with a gentle smile to the younger soquili. Such an inquisitive little foal but it was cute in a way as well, endearing perhaps even. Flicking his tail he lifted one wing gently. "If you'd like you may feel them, they are soft I promise." Seeing as it seemed this little one was so curious about his wings, he didn't mind the attention to be most honest.
