Sirius was on patrol, everything seemed a little quiet today which was good as her mind was elsewhere. She looked down at he arm and at the small scratch which looked like it was going to give her a small scar. At least it was easy to explain as a cat did it. She never had to mention the cat was from the negaverse, in fact hadn't she promised to forget about him? Maybe that was why she was thinking about him. Cats gone bad... did that mean senshi's could to?

She shook her head and stopped to look down at herself. She looked awesome. She smiled and nodded, she didn't need to be thinking about bad things now. She was a senshi and that was something to be overly happy about. She was someone now, she could do things, try and make a difference. She was special!

She let out a small chuckle as she reached the end of an alley. Didn't look like anyone was about. No chances though. She turned, ran back down the alley and jumped right up on to a roof of the nearest house. She could see better up here.

The whole Senshi thing was something that Sailor Aquarius was still getting used to. She knew it gave her an insta-family that was more dysfunctional than her real one, a crapload of hazy memories that she was struggling to sort through, and responsibilities that she only sometimes remembered. And a fun costume and cool powers, which was definitely the best part of the deal, and therefore the one she experimented with most.

So far, however, most of Aquarius' patrols- if one could call wandering around, henshined up, looking for god only knew what a patrol- had been quiet. She wasn't sure if she liked that. On the one hand, no monsters had to be a good thing. On the other hand... "It's quiet," she said to herself, mostly for dramatic effect. "Too quiet."

Of course, having said that, Aquarius wasn't sure what to do about it. Sighing, she found a fire escape and yanked down the ladder, wincing at the noise it made. If nothing else, she'd have a better view from higher up.

Sirius had sat down on the roof, she really wasn't in the mood to keep wandering and what calm would there be in having a small break. She could still see quite a lot and would more then happily stay here for a while but then she heard something. She stood up quickly and looked around somewhat. Was someone there?

She walked over the roof to the other side and looked down at the ground, there was someone there and they were coming up! Part of her wanted to jump down and tackle the person there and then but it could cause her problems. They were on stairs and Sirius didn't want to be the one falling down them. Instead she got up and crept closer to where the stairs reached the roof and crouched down.

She took a deep breath and waited, hopefully it would be someone from the Negaverse, she really wanted to meet one and take them down.

By the time Aquarius reached the top of the building, she was tired. Senshi abilities and cheerleading practice aside, one did not climb six sets of rickety stairs without feeling it. Swaying a little bit, she paused at the topmost landing and sat, looking over the edge at the streets below. It was a bit dizzying, both because of the height and the fact that she was winded. But more dizzying still was the fact that she wasn't playing around. She was on a mission.

Her guard was virtually non-existent, despite the fact that her tramping up the stairs was practically a siren in the otherwise quiet night. Aquarius knew that bad stuff was around, but since she hadn't encountered anything yet, she was relaxed. It was almost like a field trip instead of a patrol. Breathing in the night air, she pulled her hood around her face to keep out the chill and waited for something to happen.

Sirius had never seen a senshi look like that and she wanted to go push the girl over the edge but she couldn't really risk it. What if it was an odd looking senshi? But with a hood? There was only one way to find out.

Sirius jumped out from her hiding place and shouted the two words she was use to saying by now.

"Collar Bound!" The collar appeared around the strange girl within seconds meaning she couldn't move too far from where she was.

"Now who are you?" Always best to attack first and ask questions later. It wasn't like her attack could hurt anyone anyway so if she had got a senshi she would just let the barrier down earlier. It would be fine.

Aquarius was careless, and she knew it. She liked to think that she was prepared for an attack, but when one came, it took her by surprise. Fortunately for her, it wasn't a painful attack. At first startled, her amazement turned to curiosity as she examined the energy surrounding her. Fascinating. Then she noticed her captor, and shock crept back into her expression. "A terrorist!"

Perhaps that was not the best thing to say in her circumstance. Oops.

"My bad, my bad. Force of habit, you know?" Aquarius shook her head sadly and touched the ring of energy that bound her. "A defense mechanism?" she questioned aloud, talking more to herself than her captor. "Between Taurus and Cancer I thought we had that covered. This must be something different. What's your shtick, anyway?"

It didn't occur to her that she was asking questions rather than answering them. Keeping Aquarius focused was a nearly impossible feat, and trapping her in a ring wasn't going to cut it.

So this wasn't quite what she expected. The girl didn't answer her question but started rambling about Cancer and Taurus? What was she going on about? Sirius hadn't heard about the Zodiacs, she hadn't met any and seemed to rarely bump in to other senshi and so hadn't heard about them either. For a girl who liked to take photos for newspapers she really didn't hear much about the news itself.

"Who are you? I am not saying anything till you tell me who you are. After all you are the one who is stuck." Sirius thought that was a good point. The girl couldn't go anywhere so why not answer the question. Once Sirius learnt that the girl was a senshi then she would let the collar go but for now she had a senshi stuck, and one that was already more powerful then her and Sirius could feel it. Especially when the girl touched the collar.

"Some kind of loop premise?" Aquarius muttered to herself, touching the ring again. It didn't look solid, but it also put up physical resistance when she tried to move past it. She would have loved to give it more thorough testing, but her captor was talking again, and it was difficult to focus. She sighed, withdrew her fingers, and looked appraisingly at the other senshi.

After a few moments she seemed satisfied, and gave a mock bow. "Sailor Aquarius, Zodiac Senshi of Science. At your service, since, as you said, you have me stuck." Aquarius wondered if she'd be able to break out of the ring somehow, but didn't feel like testing it at that particular moment. Clearly the Senshi didn't trust her- why, she wasn't entirely sure- but she was trapped on a rickety fire escape, six stories up. The circumstances were not in her favor.

"Since I've given my designation, could I know yours?"

Sirius was curious at why the girl seemed so interested in the ring around her but at least she did finally give a name. Senshi of science? Well Sirius was senshi of canines! She smiled and nodded and as she did so the ring disappeared.

"Sorry, I am Sailor Sirius, senshi of canines. I apologise for the collar, I have never seen a senshi dressed as you are. I wondered if you were one of those negaverse people." There she had said sorry for capturing a senshi. Better safe then sorry in the end but at least she knew who she was talking to.

"What do you do? Power wise being a senshi of science?" Sirius was a little curious to say the least. Sirius as Louisa wasn't the best at science. Maybe if she made friends with a science senshi she could get homework help? That wasn't a bad idea at all!

"Sirius. The dog star. How fitting." Aquarius wasn't sure what part of Sirius or canines enabled her to trap others, but she didn't feel like asking. Surely a problem as simple as that could be solved without any help, especially while she was stuck-

Aquarius blinked, noticing finally that the ring had disappeared. "Not bad," she said admiringly, though a bit disappointed that she didn't have a chance to try to break through it. Maybe another time. "Don't worry about it. No harm, no foul."

Considering she'd called Sirius a terrorist, being taken for a soldier of the Negaverse didn't seem too bad. Maybe she'd be able to use that to her advantage sometime. Aquarius made a mental note of that idea, which was promptly lost as the next matter came up.

"Well, you see," Aquarius said, looking around. "This isn't a good place for a demonstration. Messing with the laws of physics can get... well, messy." Saying things like that still gave her a jolt of excitement. Messing with physics. No big deal. All in a day's work for Sailor Aquarius.

Sirius nodded as she mentioned the dog star. It seemed it was true, that was why she was senshi of canines or at least why she thought that anyway. She just continued to nod as Aquarius said there was no harm.

"Do you blow things up then?" That was all that Sirius was use to in science. Science was just a fancy way of saying blow things up. She wasn't great at science but it was a subject that she was okay in.

"I wish I had an attack that did something. Collaring people really isn't all that useful!" She let out a sigh, maybe one day she would develop a way of attacking.

Aquarius shook her head, feeling amused and a bit superior. "Is that all people think science is used for?" she asked, not really expecting an answer. "You know, chemistry is only one branch of science. There's also biology- that'd be the branch you're most connected with, Miss Canine- and astronomy, and geology, and meteorology... I could go on. But my branch leans more towards physics. Laws of motion, gravity. You get the idea."

Lecture concluded, Aquarius blinked. "I think containment is a highly useful ability." Granted, she wouldn't have traded her own powers for it, but it certainly wasn't as boring as Sirius made it sound. "You trapped me good there. And I bet if I tried to break out, it would have hurt. If you teamed up with someone who had an offensive energy ability, you might even be able to make a rebound effect that would be highly destructive." Aquarius gestured with her hands, bouncing one off the other rapidly. "And if not, at least you can control the distance of the battle. That has to be useful, right?"

Sirius listened, she wasn't the best at science but she also hadn't realised so much came under science. Astronomy, geology and meteorology, of course she had heard of all those things but for some reason had never tied them all together.

"Yeah, I guess science and blowing things up seems to just stick in my head." She looked a little awkward but smiled anyway. It seemed so stupid talking to someone who clearly knew a lot of what she was talking about when Sirius really didn't. Though when Aquarius started talking about her powers, Sirius saw them in a new light. She had never thought about how they could help a battle just defend or hold for a while. The way Aquarius spoke though they sounded rather useful.

"You have made them sound much more interesting then they have ever seemed." This was interesting conversation, Aquarius seemed to have a completely different view on things.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 20, 2010 11:30 pm

Brightening considerably, Aquarius nodded. "See, most people think it's boring, but that's because they don't take the time to think about it. Science is anything but boring, and so much more than blowing things up. If you just think about things in a different light, you can find answers most people would gloss over."

This was Aquarius' happy place. She enjoyed trying to bring people over to the light side. And she felt good about Sailor Sirius, who seemed genuinely interested in what she was saying. Aquarius liked to be taken seriously, and was thinking of a way to seal the deal.

Nothing came. With a lack of any better ideas, Aquarius scanned the roof, the rickety fire escape and rusty water tower and all. It was a sorry sight. But it would have to do. "Since you asked," she offered, grinning widely, "would you like to see what I can do?"

Sirius nodded and smiled still and then her face lit up when Aquarius offered to show her what she did.

"That would be awesome!" Sirius looked like a child at Christmas. She had found that senshi's powers were really interesting and she had toyed with the idea of making some sort of list of the different powers but had decided against it in case the wrong person got their hands on it. She was still really interested in the attacks though, each senshi's attack was so different and unique to them!
