Here's a thought, as you may have guessed from the thread title, I propose that we all coordinate within this guild to join the same server, make our own guild, share the same link shell, and start in the same city-state so we might be able to play with each other when the game comes out!
From what I just read in the other threads about what race they'd like to be, and what city-state we all wanna start in, I think it's very possible for us to become one giant force of team work and have great success in the game overall as long as we can come an agreement.
Imagine it from right now; we have plenty of time to gather more info about the game, how the nationality (city-states) work, if we get racial bonuses from starting in our home state or not, the pros and cons of one are to another, and especially what race and class we are all going to play. Overall, I think we have a very wide coverage of the choices given to play the game so far, and the guild is only going to get bigger!
So as we wait for 14 to be released, let's coordinate and see if we can't start with a group of friends that can help each other out and make the overall experience as much fun as possible!

Agreed, that's one of the underlining reasons I created this guild.
I hope when the game begins we'll be able to actually choose the server we start on, rather than what XI did and just random throw you in a server, and then pay for an in-game item to cross over to another server and start over (though recently they allow you to actually bring your entire character over [and change your name if its already taken there]).

I'm going the server that myself and my group go to, hopefully yall will agree to follow.
To shed more light on my group, the count is up to 18, that is 18 people that want me to email them and let them know what server I go on so they can join the same one to play with me.
Our goal was to all be able to play together when it comes out.
So since they'll be waiting for me to email them all, I guess that gives us an advantage on which one we'll choose.
FFXIV site needs to release the possible server choices ASAP!

I definitely want to do this, it's the first thing I thought about when joining this guild. Just announce the server name in this thread when the game comes out, if you don't know the server names in advance that is.. otherwise if you do get to know them are you gonna vote for the coolest server name or something? lol biggrin

MandaButt As long as you guys pick a server with a cool name. << lol (kujata is where the cool kids are. ) And ooo they better not pull that "you get to be in what server I want you to be in" s**t. rofl I remember when i first got the game and was so annoyed with the fact i couldn't pick the server and to get to a sever with my friend i had to do the whole world pass thing. stressed

Unlike most MMORPGs I don't think it will be visible unless you check someone, like FFXI. I wonder if they will still use colored linkshell balls or if you can upload a logo like in other MMORPGs. I don't really mind the linkshell name or symbol but having a vote on that would be cool too (I'm thinking it should have some resemblance to Gaia, since that's where the members are from originally). I'm bound to end up with several different linkshells anyways, as I even want to make my own linkshell for my truth seeker guild, and get an event linkshell/guild too.

I wonder if they will still use colored linkshell balls or if you can upload a logo. uploading pics for logos would be unique compared to just colored linkshells and at least this way it would be easier to tell guilds apart instead of having to click on a person cause thiers another 20 guilds with the same linkshell color.

Alright so we've got some interest going with this idea, and even more ideas about making a linkshell with an agreed upon name, and even a guild with an agreed upon name, this is exciting to think about and plan! I've got a big smiling grin going just thinking about it! Camaraderie, gotta love it.
Ok so now that time has passed, I'd like to see who is still interested in moving forward with this idea. I've PMd the people that replied to this thread so that we can collaborate more right here and brainstorm about any possible plans for a LS (linkshell) and/or guild name.
So let's get right to it!
1). Server of choice
2). LS name
3). Guild name
(Of course these last two only apply if they show up in the game, which we hope they do.)
1). When it comes to the server of choice, I can only suggest that we vote on which one we like the most. Of course we will have our own likes and dislikes, but voting will help us get an idea of which server people like the most. Hopefully we can find the list of server names before the game comes out. ^^
2). If FF14 uses a LS system like FF11 did, that would be awesome, and again, we'd vote on ideas for the LS, meaning we'd submit names of our own idea to vote on.
3). Just like the first two numbers, if the game has this ability, we can make ideas and vote on them! Hurray!
What are your thoughts everyone??
