With snow on the ground, and more coming, it was a wonder any soquili were out and about, given how cold it was, much less a tiny Usdia such as Chimere. Long hair wind tossed, and twisted, Chimere was out in the cold freezing to be honest. But she wouldn't give up this time outside in the snow for anything! She loved the snow and bounding through it, sending drifts of snow into the air in large plums of white shimmering poofs of snow.
Why was it that she was out, aside from her love for the snow? That was simple. She was looking for holly and mistletoe to decorate the teepee's entrance with. She knew one, or possibly more, of the soquili she lived with were looking for wood for the fire just outside of their teepee so they could keep warmer, as if their body heat wasn't enough.
Once she got back she was having Asa move one his wings so she could curl up under it, let it act as a blanket for her smaller form.

How troublesome it was to have short legs, especially in the Winter season. As lovely as the snow was when it fell, it was quite a burden to walk through it, especially when it got deep enough that it reached his chest or even higher.
This wasn't going to hinder his high spirits. Camarin trotted casually through the snow that covered the ground, getting surprised every now and then when he would sink into a deep patch. Now, he knew that apples didn't grow in this cold season, but he was certain there were other things that soquili liked that grew in the winter, so he was determined to find and gather some before the day was over.

Feeling her legs give out slowly, and having no way to pull back, was a rather scary sensation. Crying out Chimere felt her legs sinking into a deep drift of snow. It was this snow drift which caught up the Usdia and held her father, stuck within it's cold powdery embrace. Now, she supposed maybe it wasn't such a good idea to have gone out.
"Is anyone out there, please help! I'm stuck!" She called out turning her head this way and that, the snow covering a good amount of her small body, most of it infact was covered.

The bright stallion's search wasn't going so good, but he kept at it. Getting further along, he hummed a small tune in his head, being wary of large drifts of snow.
Not too long after, his ears perked at the sound of some one calling. It was a distress call! Without any hesitation, he rushed off in the direction it was coming from. Soon enough, he reached the source of the cry, a mare stuck in the snow. "Oh my! Are you alright?! Hold on, I'll try to help you out!" With that, he started to dig the snow out away from her as fast as his short legs could.

Oh! Someone had heard her! Oh good! She would hopefuly be free, even if it took some time. Struggling and trying to move around in the snow to get some sort of gap between her body and the snow.
"I was fine, until I sunk into this drift!" Chimere called out of the loud wind, the sound of it filling her ears for a moment and causing them to tuck back as far as they could. "I didn't think it was this deep!" The snow thus far hadn't been this deep, though close. Maybe she should have figured there were some pockets of deeper snow fall.

Camarin circled the trapped mare, continuing to dig the snow out from around her. A puff of steam erupted from his nostrils as he breathed heavily from his frantic effort to rescue her.
"Just stay calm, I'll get you out as soon as I can!" He comforted. Now was one time he wished he had longer legs, but he was making some progress. Her struggling helped loosen the snow around her as well, so that was working toward her favor.

She had hoped her moving would loosen the snow, and help. As it seemed to be helping she smiled and continued her efforts to help free herself. Giving herself more room, so there was air between her and the snow.
"Don't worry. I'm calm now." Knowing she wouldn't be stuck here, and she would soon be out, she wasn't panicked or scared. It was cold, yes, but she would be out soon and that was good enough for her.
"Shouldn't be much more." And with the ability to move her front legs she started digging at the snow infront of her. She was digging at the bottom of the snow, on level with her hooves, but it brought the snow level infront of her down as the snow fell into the gap she'd been making.
"Thank you for helping me!"

More and more progress was being made with every scoop of snow he would pull out from around her. He nodded to her in affirmation when she comforted that she was calm. He couldn't help but admire her bravery and determination, seeing on how other Usdia mares would probably freak out if this were to happen to them.
"We're almost through!" He confirmed, pausing only briefly to shake the snow that was collecting in his mane. Quickly returning to his task at hand, he moved to start digging around her sides and hind legs when she was able to use her front legs to dig as well. "You're very welcome!"

"When this is over, and I'm out, we should seek shelter. I'm afraid I'm terribly cold and I'm sure you are as well!" She spoke loudly to be heard over the wind. Indeed, she was colder then she liked and she was sure her savior was cold as well.
Perhaps a cave could be found, or she could find her home and they could warm themselves there with the fire that would surely be blazing. It was the least she could do, bringing him home to where she and the rest of the herd she was part of lived.
When finally she was able to get free and find proper, stable, footing she went to thank the other, she wasn't sure but a brief nuzzle seemed proper, it was right?

"I agree whole heartedly." Camarin answered, also raising his voice over the howling gusts. Though he was sure she was much colder than he was and his digging helped with keeping him warm, the time out in this weather was gradually taking its toll on him. It also did not help that his bright fur reflected what little warm rays from the sun there was.
He did no care where their shelter was or what form it took, all that mattered now was getting the mare out. Also, he would appreciate any relief from the snow they could get.
Once she was out, he stepped back to catch his breath and to let her regain her footing. He was about to ask if she was alright when he was welcomed with a nuzzle, though brief. A dark blush appeared on his cheeks, but mainly from not expecting it. Regaining his composure, he nickered softly and gave her a quick nuzzle in response. "You are very welcome."

"It means a lot, I did think I would be stuck there for a long time." She had not figured she would be saved at all to be honest. Her thoughts had indeed taken on such a dark nature, and why should they have not? Who else would be out in this deep snow?
"We can hurry and get to the teepee I live in. There should be a blazing fire and lots of soquili who can help warm us." She said quickly, teeth chattering. The idea was a nice one, and the thought of it warmed her just a little.
"Follow me and I'll lead us there."

"It is surely no problem at all! I am sure that you would have not been stuck for too much longer." He replied cheerfully. He was not the kind to think grimly, even if the situations seemed as such.
At the image of the fire at her tepee, he smiled warmly, "that sounds delightful. I thank you for inviting me." He answered with a nod. "I will follow you." He stated and moved to stand close, now waiting for her to head toward her home.

She couldn't help but think of her situation in negative ways, it had been a doomed situation as far as she had thought it. Now instead of her freezing she was leading her savior home to a warm fire and other soquili, they'd be nice and warm.
"It's only right that I should invite you. You did after all save me from that trap I was in." It was a snow trap, and not one she ever wished to fall into again.

"We must be careful when it comes to snow. Unfortunately our shorter legs are not able to help us climb out of deep pits of it much like are longer legged counterparts." He warned just gently as he followed her. When she mentioned it being right to invite him, he nodded just slightly. "True, but it was still no big deal. I am sure you would have done the same for me if the roles were reversed."

"I never thought of that. I don't really remember that in situations like this." Meaning all the snow that was on the ground. Saying this as she tossed her head about and smiled over to him.
"Of course I would have. I'd have even helped a soquili if they were in the snow and stuck." Though it wouldn't be likely she'd be able to, as she'd be well and truly sunk into the snow herself. If it would trap a soquili it would certainly have her sunk.
Deep into the woods and into a clearing. Thankfully the snow in the woods wasn't as deep, the trees did help with that. The clearing she lead them to had a very large teepee in it's center.
