This is just random writing for me and that other one to edit.

Chapter One - "TORINE"

TORINE:

I will never, ever forget the day I first met the...interesting Captain Sparkalay and the rest of the crew of the Violent
Pony. For me, it was a day of terror, of death, of fire, and of...being referred to as Sir Mushroom.

--/--

I was wandering through the jungles of Planet Chloranthus, after our ship, the Silver Spoon, had crashed into the planet
after some engine trouble. I'm not sure what exactly caused the problem, but I believe it involved our Cook, Sprig,
the mainsail, and a radish...anyway. Sadly, everyone on board was killed in the crash, with the exception of myself,
and the Captain's dog, Boots. I sent him off to seek help, but it seems that the plants on this planet have the most
curious property of being carnivorous. As soon as the poor dog reached the edge of the clearing the ship had made, I
saw him scooped up by one of those monstrous weeds, and, well...there went my hopes of being rescued. With no other
option available to me, I armed myself with whatever small things I could salvage, and set off into the jungle.

A long, terrifying trek and three plant bites later, I was in dire need of a rest. Finding a nearby log, I poked it
with a stick until I was sure it wouldn't spring to life and devour me, before sitting down for a while. After a few
minutes, off in the distance, I heard someone yelling and cursing loudly nearby. Curious, I stood, trying to find the
source of the noise. "Try to eat me, will you, you little bastards? Well, let's see how you like it when I burn you and
your children to the ground!" Somewhat amused, I took a step towards the direction of the sound, only to have a
wild-eyed man burst through the vegetation near me, brandishing a rather small device spewing out fire in each hand.
Waving these about in the air, he froze rather suddenly when he saw me. I attempted to introduce myself. "Er...hello,
sir. My name is Torine. My ship crashed, and..." I stopped, having noticed his face twitching in a most unusual manner.
"Um..are you alright?" Suddenly, he seemed to snap out of it and leaned close to me, squinting. "Now, you're an odd
little mushroom...but, you look trustworthy! Yes indeed! Want a job? Excellent! Here, take this. Burn them all!".
Thrusting a flamethrower into my hands, he then turned and ran back the way he had come, laughing maniacally and
torching plants left and right. Desperate for help, and rather curious, I followed. I must admit, I wanted a little
revenge against those plants, so I did my fair share of the torching, too. That little wasteland on Planet Chloranthus,
these days? Yeah...I'm pretty sure that was us.

Anyway, eventually his mad dashing about came to a stop, and he looked around wildly. A little scared by the look in his eye, I approached cautiously, only to have him whip around and sniff the air. "Now, Mushroom...Jack's here somewhere. We have to find him!"

Blah blah blah....led me to a bizarrely tiny ship, flying the pirate flag on the mast. He stopped
in front of it, throwing his flamethrower carelessly aboard, before turning and speaking in an oddly calm voice. "Well,
that was excellent work, Sir Mushroom. Welcome aboard! Let's meet the crew, shall we?" With that, he bounded forward
rubbing his hands together, and ascended the gangplank shouting for the crew. Hesitant, I stopped here. Sure, I was desperate to be saved, but what kind of life awaited me on a pirate ship? Unsure of whether or not to to trust the questionable man I'd already met, I stood undecided for a time, then decided that while I would undoubtably die left alone on this carnivorous planet, I just might have a chance with these people...and, that beside, I was rather curious, I must admit. Having made up my mind, I followed the eccentric stranger up the plank, hoping for the best.

When I reached the deck, they were all assembled. From this, and the captain's hat he had mysteriously acquired in the last few seconds, I gathered that he
was the captain of the sorry lot. "Crew! This is our newest recruit," he barked, "He's capable, smells alright, and
best of all, she's good at burning things! Now, attention!" he started walking down the row, naming each person as he
went. "This is Tully Gillan, our fine Technician. Doc James Whittlins, Jackie here, Gino the cook, Squeeky the small
assistant...thing, Lewis the Rum Keeper, and I..." At this he jumped up on a nearby barrel and struck a pose. "I, am the
amazing Captain Sparkalay! Welcome aboard, what's your name, son?" Peering at the nametag I was still wearing from our
old crew, for some reason, he looked at me oddly. "How do I pronounce that, girl?"
"Toh-rin. Torine.", I answered. "Well, lads, show Torine to her quarters. G'night." With that, he disappeared into his
cabin. I followed the crew down below decks, where a corner with a hammock was available for me. I lay awake, thinking.
"I was once a respectable writer," I thought to myself, "and now I'm to be a pirate?" Pausing for a moment, I had only
one more thought before slipping into sleep.
"Awesome."

CAPTAIN SPARKALAY:

I was skipping joyfully down to the Captain's quarters when suddenly, the voice of First interrupted my merrymaking. "Sparkalay!" he said, "What
are you doing? Haven't you learned from planet Denosa not to trust talking fungus?" You see, First is the person who talks
in my head. He has been my best friend for... well, lots of time. "First, this isn't the time for your nonsense. I am
busy singing 'Happy Days..'!" I said to him, before singing again. "Tuesday, Wednesday, Happy Days! Thursday, Friday, Happy Days! Doodoodoo... Doodoodidoo.. "
I was quite annoyed with First, until he told me "Just listen, I think this 'Torine' was sent by...Other". I stopped skipping, then.
Other is the evil thing that hides under my bed when I sleep, by the way. "Ya think?", I asked him. "No sir, I know it. Have I ever been wrong?" he replied.
"Well now that I think about it..." I said, beginning a flashback...

Ten Days Prior...

Tully jumped up joyfully from the machine he was working on in the corner. "AY! I finished the ol' navigation system, that I did, Capie. Come 'ere, I need to show you
how it works." He was working on this project for a good...well I'm not the best at math, but he was working on it for
a long time, I think...I really never paid attention, and his inventions always bore me, but I walked over to humour him
anyway. "Fine work, Smithins, fine work" I cried, for no particular reason. "Smithins? Who are you talkin' to? My name is Tully! I have been on this ship
for five years now, how do you not know me name!?!" he yelled at me, and looked rather angry too. I was shocked. "Is it...? Well...whatever your name is...how does this thing work?"
"Well, Capie," he said, "You enter the coordinates to the place you want to go here, in this little pad, and then you enter your
current coordinates here. Simple enough eh? Just don't press that big red button righ' there!". He looked kind of worried, for some reason. I wondered why.
"Why," I asked, "What does that do?" "Just...please don't. I know you never listen to me, but Just this once please, trust me." He looked almost scared, by this point. How odd.
"Fine, fine. Go away and let me play with it." I said, shooing him away. "It's not a toy! It's a very complex too-" I stopped his jabbering by pushing him
out of the open door, and slammed the door closed. "Now..." I said, rubbing my hands gleefully, "Now it's time to...press buttons!" I clicked away joyfully, and
found that they made delightful sounds when pressed. "Captain," said First, "Dear Captain, you should press that big red button. I bet it makes the best sound of all!" First
made sense, so I said "Okay!", and started to put my finger toward the button, until I remembered something...
"Didn't Smithins say not to press the button?" I asked First. "What does he know? He's just a kid." he replied.
I thought this made sense also, so With that I slammed on the button. After that, I heard lots of big bangs, like fireworks. "Ooh how amazing!", I exclaimed.
Then, I heard something like people screaming... "Ooh, joy!" I cried, "even the crew is screaming with joy!". It was odd, though, because later that day, half the crew were in the
hospital room, and a part of the ship was missing...ah well.

"That was a good day!" I said, tearing up a bit from the memory. "Nope, I guess you have never done me wrong.
What I am wondering is, if she is a spy, then what is It trying to get?"
"It's trying to steel your lucky charms..." First told me, and First is always right.
"I wont let it! That mushroom has to go!" I yelled! I ran as fast as I could, hoping that the mushroom has not already taken my lucky charms! When I got to the crew's quarters,
I saw the mushroom sleeping, looking deceptively innocent. I took out my laser sword and put it close to Torines face.
Getting ready to swing, I yelled "None of your mushroom friends can help you now!". I took my sword up as I got ready to swing.
Torine woke up then and opened her eyes, before she sat up and gasped, "What are you doing!?"
"I'm making sure you don't take anything of mine, you dirty spy!" I swung down with force, but the
mushroom jumped to the right, off the bed, barely missing my blades edge. As Torine hit the floor, the other crew members
woke up, groaning. "Jack, Seize Torine, she's a spy!" I yelled. Jack got up out of his bed and picked Torine up, putting her
over his shoulder. "She's a spy? How do you know that?" he asked me, sleepily. "First told me that Other sent her!" I told him.
The whole crew gasped as
though they all believed him, But Squeeky shook her head. "What? I don't even know these people! I'm not a spy!" Torine protested.
"Lies! You want my lucky charms!" I yelled at her. The crew gasped again, except for Squeeky. who kept shaking her head, but did nothing, probably because she
knew she did not have the power. "Take her to the lucky charms room and lock her in there. If she wants them so badly,
she can stay in there with them...forever!"
