This is the salon where maiko/geisha can get their various hairstyles completed. It costs a maiko/geisha 5,000 yen per week to get their hair done, so a total of 20,000 yen per month is indebted to each maiko/geisha per month.
You can rent hair pieces or buy them. The rents are included in the weekly amount that a geisha/maiko is charged for the salon weekly. If you wish to buy them, they run about 17,000 each. They are charged to your okiya You can see the post of hair ornaments below for further details.
You see a small building up ahead and step up into the salon. The smell of wax and trimmed hair fills the small building of only four rooms. You see many others crowding in the salon. The Salon Keeper comes over to meet you and leads you to the customer book. She has you sign your name and has you step into the second room, where exquist hairstyles are made.
