Cinna carried Miniel out of the cave and down to the river. "You need some playmates, other than your brother." The child smiled and Cinna laughed. She was used to the smile...she saw it in the mirror when she was alone and thinking about Phim and how even through everything she loved him...and he loved her.
Cinna carried her to the water and let her down. "I think a lot of paes hang out here. I hope some have kids." She needed to get out of the cave not only for Miniel but for herself as well.
Miniel ran to the river and splashed her feet in it. She was happy to be out of the cave and really did want to make some playmates...whatever those were.

Amapola holds Masozi by the hand as they walk to the river. Things had been going fairly smoothly for them since that...fiasco with Criofan Damn-His-Eyes O'Kane. Masozi had grown up nicely. Polite to adults, shy around other children, and the distance he was willing to wander away from his mother was growing every day.
She'd decided today would be a good day to head down to the river. She sees other Pae there nearly every day. Perhaps Masozi could make some friends.Masozi kicks at pebbles as he walks with Mama down to the river. She'd said maybe he'd find other children to play with. He doesn't really want other children to play with, though.
Looking at his feet, he doesn't notice the purple-skinned girl until he's run into her. "Oof!" he exclaims, trying to backpedal quickly enough to avoid falling on her.

Cinna saw another pae and she brought a child with her! Cinna was happy and let herself smile. She walked over to the girl, "Hi, I"m Cinna! Is that your child? He's so cute!" She was back to her sugary self when Phim wasn't around.
"Whoa!" Miniel said when another pae child ran right into her! Her mom was right when she said others came to the river. Miniel smiled and looked at the other child, "I'm Miniel! Who are you?"

"Um, yes," says Amapola, resisting the urge to pick up Masozi protectively. "I'm Amapola, and this is Masozi. Nice to meet you."
"Um, Masozi?" he says, unsure of what to do with the sprightly, outgoing child. He looks up at Mama for support.

"It's nice to meet you." Cinna said as she took a seat near the children, but not too near that they couldn't play. "I can out today to find Miniel a playmate, I'm really glad they ran into each other." She giggled as that was literally what they did.
"It's nice to meet you Masozi, are you a playmate?" She knew her mom wanted her to make one and she wasn't sure what one was. Did you make one like this or did you have to build one?

Amapola nods her agreement. "Masozi doesn't have many friends, aside from me and my sister and my sister's...son..." Sure, that's what Kieran was. "And my sister's son is a terrible influence, always encouraging him to make mischief and whatnot." She sits down next to Cinna.
Masozi blinks. "Wutsa playmate?" he asks. "I don't think I'm a playmate..." He looks down at himself, shrugging.

"I have a son too, but today I thought it would be nice to find my daughter a friend." She smiled at the girl and pulled out a lollipop, "Would you like one?" Candy was Cinna's thing...her weakness if you will, she had to have it with her everywhere she went.
Miniel shrugged, "I dunno, Mama said I need one and that's why we're here today." She looked at the water and splashed it a bit with her hand, "Wanna play?"

"Oh!" exclaims Amapola. "Sure!" Not that she hadn't had any candy lately...Masozi had unloaded all the kinds of candy he didn't like from Halloween upon her. "That's sort of random, isn't it? Just to pull out a lollipop?" She smiles a bit.
"Um...alright." He bends down and touches the water. "It's all cold and stuff...." he says, shying away from it.

Cinna laughed as she handed her a lolli, "Well, it's sort of my thing." To show why she closed her hand over the lolli and then when she pulled them away it was now in the shape of a rose. "I can bend candy. So, I usually have some on me." She also loved to consume mass quantities of sugar, but she left that part out.
Miniel smiled, "But, that makes it fun. It's cold but then you are warm. So, fun." It didn't really make since but that was Miniel, she liked things that didn't go together, like her mom and dad. They really shouldn't have found each other, but they did.

"Ooh!" exclaims Amapola, delighted. "That's absolutely lovely!" She stares at it for a moment. "Oh, but now it's too pretty to eat! I'll definitely keep it though. I'll put it in a little vase or something." She smiles. "That's a neat power, though," she says. "Bending candy. Mine's that I can make other people sleepy." A wry smile crosses her lips. "Very useful for little boys who don't want to go to bed."
"But I don't like cold things," says Masozi. He squats down by the water and pokes at it. "And it's all wet. I mean...I like wet...but only warm wet. Like bathtime."

"That does sound like a good power. I just use mine to make things pretty." Oh course if she wanted to candy could be turned into a pretty mean knife or something. Cinna only thought of those things when she was with Phim.
"You don't? Why not?" She waded in a bit deeper with a big smile on her face. She shivered and then came back to the boy, "Ok, it is cold. You wanna do something else?"

"But pretty things are good," says Amapola. "So....does Miniel have any brothers or sisters?" she asks. And immediately wishes she hadn't, since then Cinna would ask the same about Masozi. And she really didn't want to talk about it.
Masozi nods. "What d'you wanna do?" he asks. "As long as it's not cold..."

"Yes, she has a brother." She smiled and then felt that the girl didn't seem happy about the question. "He's with his Dad. I thought it would be nice for the girls' to have play time today. Are you having a play day today too?"
"Well, I have this thing..." Miniel walked out of the water and close to Masozi. She held out her hand and showed him a gasphon capsule. "This is magic! Do you want to see?"
((Ok, so I wanted to throw in her power...but it hasn't been approved yet. So, it might just backfire in Miniel's face for now. LOL))

Amapola smiles. "That's sweet." She nods slightly. "We decided we'd been inside for too long...just wanted to get outside." She nods again and watches Masozi play with the little girl. She smiles softly. He's behaving rather well--normally he cries when people talk to him.
"What's a magic?" asks Masozi, tilting his head.

Cinna smiled and nodded as she looked at the two playing. "It is a rather nice day, isn't it." IT was better than being cramped up in her cave.
"Magic?" Miniel pondered the question for a minute. "It's stuff that happens for no reason! Mama shapes candy with her magic." She held the little capsule, ready to show her magic.
