Will doctors just, like, GIVE you birth control if you ask? Even if you're not doing anything that can make babies?
'Cause I want this b***h of a period GONE. Or at least the cramps. Or not 7-9 days long. neutral

Yeah! Birth control can be used to treat PMDD and bad ance, and some medicines like accutane actually require you to be on birth control before they can be taken.

HELLS TO THE YES.
Check: another thing to ask for when I go to the doctor in a few days.

Another question: Is it all super expensive?

You have to have a pelvic exam, just so you know. Also possibly a blood test.

It's about $35-$50 a month depending on the brand without insurance. It's cheaper with insurance. The stuff I got is going to cost me $5 a month through my insurance.

You might consider Implanon? It's known to eradicate periods and it lasts for three years, but it's a high upfront cost. It's a plastic stick about the size of a match that they implant under the skin in your arm.

PELVIC FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Maybe not then. >>
Insurance shouldn't be a problem. Mine tends to like non-psych drugs.
And um no match sticks in my arm thanks I'll stick to pills. D;

I just went to renew my prescription and my doc said I didn't need a pelvic exam. I've been on it for 3 years and never had one. Some will do it if you are over a certain age and some will do it when you start having sex.

I think mine is roughly 15$ a pack with insurance.

I went on originally to reduce cramp pains and have them more regulated.
I didn't have to take any tests or anything. s:

Mine is like $20 a month but insurance pays for some months. Not sure how much we actually have to pay. Originally, I got it because I had a boyfriend and we were going off to college and I thought I would need it, but now it just helps me figure out when my period will be. 4laugh

Well doesn't matter really at our age but hormones are a carcinogenic and can cause strokes so if you smoke your not suposta take BC cause the combination increases your risk of cancer and blood clots.

by a tiny amount.
and the risks are tiny to begin with and the links aren't still fully proven.
they just make a note of how much you smoke.

My current dermo meds could potentially turn my skin blue (like big blue spots on my knees and shoulders?)
so she suggested birth control, as it has no side effects and might even do a better job than the s**t I'm on now.

Brought it up to mom, she gave me a sex talk.
And how if I miss EVEN ONE DAY I will get pregnant (and die)
Even though I told her it came up at the ******** DERMO not the gyno.

I have not brought it up since.
