He settled into one booths in the warmly lit back end of the cafe, letting his head rest back against the cushioning. He set his phone, a set of keys and his cigarette case onto the table, emptying his pockets so he could slouch in peace.
"You got a good voice, you know that? Still doin' those auditions.. Prolly next Tuesday. You got a phone, yeah?"

Josh was glancing around from his side of the booth. The dark orange paint on the walls was strangely pleasant, like warm pumpkin pie. Despite the dark clouds outside, the first patters of rain on the roof, the place was brightly lit, warm. The smells of coffee and baked goods, though extremely prominent, were not enough to cover the smell of smoke on his shirt. Josh had nothing in his pockets but a few coins, and he let them stay there. His pants were tight enough that he could feel the coins pressing to the side of his leg, and it wasn't uncomfortable, it was a good feeling. Having some money of his own.
"No I don't got a phone. Juss figured I'd show up though, not hard to get there on my own." Josh's stomach told him to get a pastry of some sort asap.

"Oh, God, you're one of those. Nope, not puttin' up with that s**t." he muttered and picked up his phone, beginning to drag his fingers across the screen to change a few things on it.
"Oy! Hey, Casper! Give a man somethin' to eat, yeah?" he hollered towards the front of the shop, enjoying the fact that even though they were the only ones in the place, he could still fluster the teenager working with his yelling. "Sandwiches, love!"
He snickered at her angry reply even as he heard her beginning to move about the kitchen. "She loves me, honestly. Regular, that's me... See.. Lemme text Lav real quick. She can pick another up for me while she's shoppin'..." he trailed off and continued to fiddle with his phone.

"One of whats?" Josh frowned, scrunching up his nose. He looked to the front at Reg's yelling, still frowning. He hadn't even noticed the person working when they came in, but then again, he was oblivious to details like that a lot of the time. At least this place wasn't closed. The rain started to really come down now, and it was like a pleasant rhythm on the roof.
"Pick up another what?" Josh couldn't really figure what Reg was talking about, his mind too focused on getting some food. And afterwards he was thinking he could use a cigarette. But his mind picked it up after a moment, and he lifted a brow, still frowning. "A phone? Reg you don't gotta do that, the hell do I need a phone for anyways?"

"Thank you, baby." Reg smiled, looking up to Casper when she brought over two large sub sandwiches with everything on them and a few bags of different flavored crisps. She set two cups down and a large pot full of vanilla roast coffee between the boys before stalking off, her fox-colored hair swishing like an angry tail behind her as she went back up front.
"I'll tip good, you know I will!" he laughed before sliding the phone across the table to Josh. The coffee pot was warm in his hands, unpleasantly so, but he poured himself a cup anyway.
"So you can talk to me. I'm not always at the CBGB, Joshie. Unless, you find all this trivial and you're just really ********' bored an' that's why you're hangin' with me." he sipped at his coffee, not adding anything to it as he held it with both hands.
"'Sides, Lav wants to get me this other phone anyway, so we match. Her's is all pink and got checkerboard, there's this purple one... Been buggin' me about it for two weeks since she seen it."

Josh watched her come with the sandwiches, adding a small "Thank you" before she retreated. The sub looked absolutely insanely delicious. Like a commercial for a sub sandwich and you know it will never look as good as that when you go to buy it but this one did look that good.
Josh picked up the phone, looking at it. he set it back on the table and grabbed a packet of sugar, flicking ti to shake it down before opening it and pouring it in the coffee. "'Course I don't find it trivial. Don't be stupid." He eyed the phone as he sipped his coffee. It burned his throat at first, hot, but he got used to it by the second sip. It was delicious, the warm vanilla scent flooding his senses. It warmed his hands as he held it, and he couldn't imagine a more relaxing moment in his life.
He set the cup down so he could look at the phone more, pressing some buttons, fiddling with the settings."S'cool. Thanks, man."

Reg smirked as he watched Josh, amused that he told him not to be stupid. He loved it when people just said whatever the hell it was they wanted. Politeness had to be earned as far as Reg was concerned.
"Don't mention it. I just hate not bein' able to call or text someone if I want to talk to 'em. Drives me batty, man." he glanced at his plate before pushing it over to Josh and picked up a bag of cheddar flavored crisps instead.
"Phone's got a Ton of music on it, hook some headphones up to that b***h if you get bored, yeah." he popped a chip into his mouth, chewing for a moment before swallowing it down with more coffee.

"Your friends and stuff aren't gunna be callin' me on accident now, are they?" Josh put the phone on the table so he could tackle his sandwich. He picked it up with both hands, turning it so he could figure the best place which to begin where he wouldn't get a mess everywhere. It was just as delicious as it looked, everything fresh. he didn't normally like sandwiches with everything on them like this, but this was exceptional, and besides, he was really hungry. He managed it with minimal mess, only a few bits of lettuce and cheese falling out with dripping tomato juice along the way.
"Didn't realize I was hungry." Snatches a crisp from Reg's open bag, crunching it noisily. "Anyways, remind me again why you're having auditions or whatever. Not like you need another bandmember? I forget."

"I'll mass text them when Lav drops off my new phone. Take like two seconds." he watched him eat, totally content even when Josh grabbed some of his chips. He ate another one, but ended up setting the bag aside and pouring himself more coffee.
"Need a guitarist. I can do it, but I like bein' able to move around on stage. 'm thinkin' it would look kinda ******** if I went up there with a kiddie guitar just so I could jump around without the ********' thing draggin me down with it." he snorted, but continued to sip at his coffee, talking behind the mug. "I want someone else in there, anyway. Need some new blood, help strengthen the dynamic and I'm gettin' ready to tour out of country...maybe in the next year or two depending on some things."

"You're not hungry?" Josh took a couple of bites of the other sandwich before he really felt full. He licked the juices and crumbs off his fingers, smiling. Damn good sandwich. He washed it down with some more coffee, which was just the right temperature at this point.
"Sounds good. I'll definitely be there, then. I don't like going to school and all, the whole magic thing, s'just... no good." He took another packet of sugar and added it to his cup. "I was thinking of finding a way out of there anyways, so hopefully... M'pretty good on guitar and all, I'll practice something for you... any requests?" Josh watched Reg thoughtfully from across the table, his heart speeding up slightly with the thought of being part of his life. Part of his band.

"Nah, I gotta be pretty ********' starved to really eat much. You can ask Alicia. I eat like a bird." he yawned, setting his cup down to stretch properly before slouching in his seat. He felt cozy.
"Do a song that makes y' soul, babe. Somethin' that you think will hit an audience as hard as it hits you. S'what Coversluts is, ya know. We sing the songs that everyone already knows they love and we just add ourselves up into it."
He picked his cup back up, considering it for a moment before he took up one of the sugar packets near Josh and tore it open to dump into his cup. "You'll get a lot of criticism for it, so be ready for that. The wizarding press is a little harsher than the Muggle press since we're still just an underground band to them, I think anyway."
"I honestly think ya just need to learn the basics of life to be able to get by, but don't tell anyone I said your Hogwarts education doesn't mean s**t. Jesus be damned if I say that." he grinned, remembering how the owner of Jello Fishes kicked them out the first and final time. p***k.

"Yeah, guess I shoulda figured that much about you, SkinnyMinny." Josh grinned, picking a poppy seed out of his teeth. Josh didn't usually eat much himself but when he was offered food he didn't usually turn it down. He was getting less and less picky about things, as well. Or maybe his tastebuds had stopped caring, whatever.
"I'll find something good to do. Something with some mad guitar in it." Josh didn't think he'd mind the criticism, or the attention. In fact, he wanted it. he always wanted to be in a band, to get famous, to do what he loved and get paid for it. And he did not want to do anything with magic. At all; he sucked at it anyways, it was all so stupid. "I'm no good with the magic s**t, anyhow. Not my thing, I guess."
Josh finished off his coffee, the last sip basically pure sugar leaving the most pleasant taste in his mouth. "Feeling any better now?"

"Yeah, loads, actually. Love it in here. Can just kinda chill out and lounge around in here. I've rented the place out a couple of times, me an' 'Lo. Give 'em what they make in a week in a day just so we have a quiet place to shoot the s**t."
He smiled, thinking about the nickname and liking it better some of the other things people had called him in reference to his thin frame. "Magic's not for everyone.. Usually works best for people when they panic and s**t. I'm a bloody mess when it comes to dueling. s**t, did I get my arse kicked in that last war. S'why I did mostly sneak thief s**t instead. So easy to get offed with a flash of green."

Josh stretched his arms up high until his shoulders shook with the effort. He figured he could stay here for hours just talking to Reg and listening to the rain. He was happy and excited for what the future held. His thoughts flashed briefly to Godfrey again, wondering what he was up to. He didn't like Hogwarts but he did like Godfrey, and was wondering what he'd have to do about that. They'd talk about it, maybe even tomorrow. Besides it wasn't something to worry about until after the auditions.
"Yeah, I dunno. M'lucky when I can get something to accio right or whatever. Doesn't matter though, s'not like I didn't get by alright without magic before. I imagine you're pretty good at bein' sneaky, Reg."
He had this odd urge to move across the table to sit next to Reg and went with it, getting up and sliding in next to the singer, setting his arms on the table and laying his head down on them. He looked over at Reg, those lavender eyes even more intense close like this. "Too bad that piercin' place was closed, but I'm thinkin' this was better anyways. When's Lavender coming back?"
