Kiburi paused, legs trembling as she stood on the border of the pridelands, pausing to crane her head back to gaze at the towering rock structure behind her. The slow descent of the sun cast it with an orange glow and made it look even more spectacular.

The pridelander juvenile sighed, swishing her tail to curl it about her hind leg. She had finally told her brother of her plans to someday leave this place...so then why did she feel so low? Why did she suddenly feel like a traitor?

The white and gold cub sat down on her rump, turning to gaze at the horizon. What lay out there? What discoveries could she make? She hoped she would find someone who could help her on the way.

She didn't want to admit it but she hated being alone.

Having made it back with enough time to rest and spend the day, Ta'Ziyan had searched the lands around him with vigor as he wondered just what was in store for him. He promised Kami he would be back by sunset to meet her family, but until than he just wanted to explore, and hopefully get an idea as to what was to come. For hours he traveled, avoiding shadows as all of his childish fears suddenly raced back through his mind, his larger juvnile form looking quite funny while he avoided all shadows.

"This is stupid...They were avoiding me before, why would they suddenly attack me now? Can't they see that I found my place and They should just bug someone else?" He demanded with a growl, fur around his neck rising as he glared at the bush near by, stomping back towards the large rock and thankful it was there for a guide. Without it, he might never find Kami again.

While deep in all of his musings, Ta'Ziyan suddenly caught a new scent, one that seemed all around the earth and what he placed as a Pridelander scent, and his eyes traced out across his view, landing suddenly on one creature. She was petit, or maybe still growing as he could not tell, and right away he found himself compairing her to Kami. Kami was slightly smaller, though not by much as he could almost see the lioness as being Kami's older form, had her fur not been so patterened. Realizing suddenly he had paused his steps, he tried to turn sharply away.

"...maybe she wont see me..." He whispered softly to himself, hoping.

The small juvenile lioness however had noticed the other. Her slate-blue eyes rarely missed anything, perhaps a trait she had picked up from her mother? Anyway, inherited or not the lionness was blessed - or perhaps cursed - with a terrible curiosity and a naivity of danger that made her vulnerable to danger.

That is what came of living a pampered life in the Pridelands.

She drew forth both of her ears, golden dipped forepaws settling beside one another as the new scent invaded her nostrils. Then with a small mewling sound of greeting she stepped forth, golden tufted tail sweeping the ground behind her hind paws.

"Hello there." She chirped, canting her head to get a better look at the stranger. "You're not a pridelander are you?" She had never seen him before...so perhaps he was a rogue? Her pearl-white fur glistened in the ebbing light, glowing with an orange hue.

His ears perked at the light mew that filled the area, and his whole body stiffened visably. If anything could be worse than his self-infliced nightmares, it was getting caught when he wished to just sink into a hole. Slowly, he turned his dark eyes back towards the pridelander to find her looking right at him, and he swallowed.

When she moved closer, he couldn't help and moved back, tail twitching as his eyes were still wide, throat swallowing harshly as nervousness set in. He had no idea why, but before he could help it, he turned his gaze away, trying to will himself to fade with the grasses. He hated first meetings. However, before he could mentally whine about it, her voice broke through and his eyes roughly closed, but his ears were perked upright.

"A...pridelander?" He asked himself softly, gazing back towards her through his short lashes as his hair fell to obstruct some vision, before her finally spoke up, "No...no I am not a pridelander..." He tried to smile, but it only came out as a slight raise of lips. At least They were not bugging him anymore.

( I hope you don't object to my bringing Kipaku here. ;3 I'll try not to intrude too much~)

And there he was, the little cheetah Kipaku. Time had been long on him, and he had spent most with his brother, who has since been gone too. His ink tipped tail twitches as he sits up, slowly, the lightly colored, spotted pelt of his helping to blend in with the grasses. His bright eyes searching over the tips of the tall strings of the savannah and in his search he spies the two other lions. He did not know much of them, the different kinds, the different prides; his knowledge was not vast, but in fact, very lacking.

It's because of that lack of worldy thought that he decides to also venture closer to what are considered predators. He pushes to all fours, walking slowly forward with the stealth that all cats seem to possess. Oh so slowly, one step at a time, stopping in case they may look, staring. He was in a playful mood and even finds himself desiring to run and pounce and play but some deep instinct hit a nerve that told him to not stray too close.

(( you're very much welcome to post here Toushin! heart ))

She giggled as the other lion took a step back and canted her head once more, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. Well if he wasn't a pridelander he was a rogue and she had never pictured them to be so cowardly. He was scared of her! Little Kib who didn't even know how to use her claws!

"Good, Pridelanders are boring. Why are you scared?" The smile on her maw widened a little, ears twitching to take in the new sounds around her. Were there others around perhaps?

"I won't hurt you. I'm Kiburi...ex-pridelander...or soon to be anways. Do rogues have names?" She wrinkled her small nose, focusing solely on the lion before her. So...perhaps she did miss things after all.

He turned back to glare at her, almost, and snorted, "I am not scared!" He snapped soon after, pawing at the dirt once more and just looking quite ruffled. His fur started to puff up and stand on end as he felt his ears twitch. For some reason, he hated it when people called him scared, because in truth he was not, he was just shy and self-concious, or so he mentally told himself.

Glancing around once more, he sniffed the air and looked back to her, taking a breath to try and at least show some pride for himself. It was at that moment he finally saw her face, and he blinked. She was smiling, and just the idea of it made his head lower in slight shame, the snap he sent reminding him quickly to apoligize.

"I mean...sorry..." He meekly whispered, still looking at her through cloudy eyes.

She huffed and drew herself up, trying her best to make herself look bigger. "You should be, it's not nice to be rude." She stuck her tongue out at him and patted at the dusty ground with a forepaw. Then slowly she made to circle around him, gazing at him with a pure look of curiosity.

Finally! She had met a lion outside of the pride!

He was sort of how she had pictured a rogue, he had a mean tongue in his jaws and had the looks of one...yet that fear? Shyness? It was uncharacteristic of what she envisioned a rogue to be. She had expected them to be strong and mighty, backing down from nothing. Had this too been just something she'd dreamt up? Perhaps rogues were shy and fearful because they were alone?

Well if that was the case then it should be easy to go live out there if all the rogues shied away from one another!

"So no-name lion, what brings you to these boring lands?"

( Sorry you two. sweatdrop Gaia crapped when I finally had time to post. Doing so now though! )

The little cheetah cub remains where he is, watching, listening in. His eyes wide with interest and the dueling pair of feelings were still nagging. He really wanted to get closer, but he could tell that it meant trouble for him at the same time. But a cat always had curiosity, which normally outrules any sense of safety.

So, with his decision finally made despite screaming from his subconscious, he pushes up and starts to walk forward again. His steps are soft and quiet, that same stealth still applied, and doubled with the camouflage his body gives within the grass despite being spotty. It just works that way because nature intended it!

Slowly... closer... closer... hopefully he wouldn't be seen.

((Sorry it took so long ><;; ))

Stiffening at her words, he felt the urge to turn away and just walk back to where Kami was, for Kami was always sweet and paitent towards him. This new lion seemed to just flaunt a sort of higher class, and it made him just rethink all he was about to say. When she circled around him, his ears twitched once, and he closed his copper eyes, not really enjoying the stare down. Yet, when she made it in front of him, he couldnt help but let out a quiet clearing of his throat, resisting to comment for her to stop.

"I..." He started quietly, glancing around as if he heard something and narrowing his eyes, "...am simply here because of the princess, we are best friends since we met months ago in by the borders of this pride. She asked me to stay with her so we could play and have fun, and whenever she has classes, I am always out here instead...I guess you could call us...friends..." He seemed to trail off at the notion of them being friends as he thought it over, and than just glanced back up to her, "What are you doing out this far, planning on running off from home?" He raised a brow and let forth what many could call a roguish grin.

"Cos of the princess?" Her nose wrinkled and her eyes took on a thoughful colour. The only princess she knew was of fiery red and was a bit crazy - or so she thought - besides she was as good as any princess. She was princess of rogues!

"And yes, not that it means anything to you, but I do plan to leave home. The pride is a boring place for one such as myself." She flicked her tail sideways and sat down once more, flexing her small claws in the dirt. "I need adventure and this place traps me."

It was then that she sensed another pair of eyes on her and she swivvelled her head around to get a better look around. "You have friends here too?" She was on her paws again, feeling a little nervous. Was this some sort of ambush?

((I guess Tou Disappeared ^^;; ))

As she asked if he had friends, he gave her a steady look, and shook his head slightly, "I told you...Kami is my friend..." He spoke softly, looking to her now with a crazy one. This pridelander seemed to not be listening anymore as she turned to look away from him. Sighing he moved around her and started back towards Pride Rock, unsure what she was getting at as he decided it would be better to just leave her be for the moment.

She wanted to leave home, she could, he never knew of adventures, and the only adventure that was close was when he was attacked by that cub ages ago. Moving his paw up, he brushed it past his ear, pausing in step. It of course itched slightly, but otherwise it was all in his head as the cut was long gone.

Kiburi frowned, her small face wrinkled in thought. Weren't all rogues supposed to love adventure? If that was true then why did this one insist on staying here in this boring place?

She flicked her tail and turned around to watch him move towards the Pride Rock, a growl playing at her throat. "Stupid rogue! You're supposed to like adventure but there be nothing like that here!" Her vision of how things were supposed to be were breaking down.

Her growl continued, a strange squeaky sound that didn't really sound that threatening.

She didn't dislike the lion personally, just the fact that he had proven her theories wrong.

Stilling a moment in his advances, he turned back around to tilt his head at her, before frowning himself, "You think that a rogue's life is all adventure?" He asked before suddenly stalking towards her once more, his head lowering and his eyes darkening.

"Tell me how to live once you have gone down my path." He hissed darkly, pausing a few steps away as he at least respected her space, "You have no right to tell me what I am to like or not to like! Yes I may be a rogue, one who has lived on his own since birth and has gone through months of starvation and has even gotten into fights with others that left him beaten and bruised. Let me tell you this, once you face the life of a rouge, you will see what adventure is really like...and you wont like it." His breathing came out in pants now before he spun around again.

He merely wanted her to stop saying he was suppose to like adventure, because he did not. Adventure left you alone and injured. Though he did not angerly lash out at her, he tried to keep his voice even, tried to make her see just how wrong she was about him. When he got a few steps away though, his head bowed and his shoulders sagged.

Her blue eyes widened in shock as she gazed at the male. His words stabbed into her dreams, tore them from her grasp and left her trembling. She opened her mouth numerous times to speak but each time failed to find words.

If this lion spoke the truth then...then...what would she do?

She fiercely forced away the tears and trotted up to pad slowly alongside him.

"I'm sorry..." She murmered shamefully, now aware of what she had done. "I just want to do something other than lie in the sun all day..." She kicked at a small stone, sending it skittering across the floor.
