It's passing through our town tomorrow between 9:30 and 10 on the main street. I'm super excited. Talk about once in a lifetime, eh? XD
Bloody hell, that torch still has a long ways to go, especially if it's going to be in vancouver. For you foreigners out there, it's currently about the distance from Cleavland to Seattle.

Just compare Toronto (bottom in Ontario) to Vancouver (far left in British Columbia)
So discuss: Who is excited for the olympics?
Let us pray our canadian hockey teams kick a** once again, eh? >D

So I not only got photos of the torch runner, I CHASED IT FOR A KILOMETER AT THE LEAST! D<

All to get pics for you guys.

The first torch carrier of the day. This was the start of my chase.

They stopped for the first torch passing, which I have as a video btw. XD The heavy breathing is me because I just sprinted a good 200 metres down a hill to catch up with them.

Second passing of the torch.

This little lady was my favourite. I got the best shots of her because she was a slower runner.

The last runner I got before I lost them on the main street. Too many people there.

Yay! My once in a lifetime torch photos!
If anyone knows how to make the images actually show and not be lame on gaia (methinks it's chrome though), please tell me.

It's not until february. But as I said, they're dragging it across Canada.

Only team that we ever really need to worry about is Russia.

went through my city too xd but it was at like...seven in the morning and there was no way in hell i was getting up that early. and apparently one of the torchbearers got assaulted by some protesters while running through, though she wasn't seriously injured.

honestly, despite being Canadian, i don't really care about the hockey. give me the other sports like speed skating or skiing, because you don't see THOSE everyday.

o___o that's sad. *read the articles*
I hate how there are always people protesting the olympics for one reason or another. It's a point in time where the world is being brought together, and I think it's a very good thing.
I feel awful for the woman who was knocked down, i'm glad the torch didn't go out, but i'm reading about more anti racism protests that have been cutting a lot of torchbearers out of the relays and stuff. It's sad.
For example, my ex tried to tell me that he wouldn't support the beijing olympics because of how 'evil' china was, how they apparently shun christianity, and how it was a terrible place to live and blah blah blah. He was being dumb about it and i don't think I had ever been so pissed off at him.
but yeah. it's really disappointing.

the world is one giant Unpleasable Fanbase. it seems no matter what you do, you're rubbing someone the wrong way for some ridiculous reason that only seems to make sense to them...occasionally. i know there are times where people do have a valid point, but really >.<

They went through my town a while ago. But I am in like, super-Eastern Canada.

Anyway, don't really care much about the Olympics, but I do love it when Canada kicks a** at hockey. It just seems so fitting. XD

I so second this.

I feel horrible for the gal who got hurt, I got done reading about it after I saw the post before where she was mentioned. That's just wrong. The Olympics is a time for the world to come at peace with one another, if only for a small time, unite and perform honestly with everyone else. Who the hell would be against the Olympics?

It's a time of unity, and if people don't like it they should just watch from the side and not hurt anyone. (( no offense to anyone, not trying to start a fight))

I was actually waiting to see the camera fall and here the sound of a body hitting the ground in the video....sounded like you were going to pass out....anyway nice pics...and if you want them to show up on Gaia you should get a Photobucket account cause I think Gaia is still iffy about pics from other sites due to a certain "invasion" from another website
