Amira frowned as she walked through the dry, dusty Savannah. Things just weren't the same after her sister left her. This hunting stuff wasn't nearly as easy as it looked. Amira hadn't had a decent meal in weeks! Maybe Fila was right. Maybe she didn't know how to look after herself. But that didn't help her any now! She needed to figure out how to live, and fast. Otherwise, if and when Fila returned, there would be nothing but fur and bones that remained.

And so, Amira was out hunting, not really hoping to catch anything big enough to make a proper meal out of. She did hope to at least catch a rabbit. Surely something as small as a rabbit couldn't be that fast.

She suddenly crouched low, the grass tickling her belly, as she slunk towards the sounds of small rustling feet. She could almost feel the rabbit in her jaws as she leaped out at the sound....but the rabbit darted between her paws as if she was frozen, racing towards it's freedom.

Flopping in the dirt, her face scrunched in a pout, Amira beat the earth with her paws. It just wasn't fair. Why was she such a clout? Why couldn't she catch anything? What was wrong with her? She didn't know. She sniffed. She didn't know how to do anything. That was the problem. That was why Fila had left her out here. Amira curled up, her head hidden behind her front paws so that no one could see the few tears beginning to trickle down her muzzle.

This must had been Keir lucky day! He found a dead zebra in the grass. Now this was just great for lazy lion like hiself to come upon. He really never like doing the work of killing something. It took to much time and work for him. He rip off one of the zebra's leg and walk off with it. He never like fighting over food so he took what he could hold in his mouth.

The smell of it was making him go crazy but he wanted to get out of the sun. He began to walk in the grass because he saw a tree near by that he could lay down and his meat. While he was walking a rabbit right into him. It look up at him and run to the right to get way. He giggle and shook hs head. He wonder what could make the poor guy run right into a lion. If he didn't have the zebra's leg with him it would been bad new for small guy.

Amira heard the soft thump of a collision. She lifted her tear-streaked face to see a lion, holding the leg of a zebra in his mouth. She leaped up off of the ground, racing over to him. "I'm sorry to bother you, but...is there more of that zebra laying around?" Her feet shuffling in place, she looked at him with hopeful eyes. Maybe she wouldn't go hungry after all.

"If you don't want to tell me, you don't have to. Though, I may not last another day on my own," she said, her voice highly melodramatic. "I don't really know how to hunt well, you see..." Was it really her fault she didn't know how to hunt? After all, her mother had died before she could teach her...and her father had never really been in the picture at all. Could she really be blamed for her lack of knowledge, if there had been no one to teach it to her?

Fila might have been able to, but she had left. Amira frowned. No, it wasn't her fault. How could it be?

Keir look confuesd when he saw this lioness runing to him. He tilled his head when he heard what she said. He lay the zebra's leg down and smile at her. " Yeah there is! Umm yeah ok so Zebra is somewhere over that way." He said as he point to the right. "But I can't tell you if someone might have gotten to it. So if you want to eat with me is ok too!" He said with a grin.

He could never let a lioness go without food! This was just not right. She look like she had been crying. He was worried about her and wonder what was wrong. He tilled his head again and ask " Are you ok? You look like you been crying." He said with a worry tone. "Did someone hurt you?

"You'd really do that for me? Oh, thank you!" she said, positively beaming at him. "I'd be more than happy to eat with you." She nodded, flicking her tail excitedly. Here he was, her rescuer! She wouldn't starve after all! She almost bounced with joy.

"Oh...I'm ok," she said, her face somber. "I was trying to hunt rabbits...but they're just too fast for me. Like everything else is. I suppose I just got a bit upset because I can't do anything a lioness is supposed to be able to do." She attempted a brave smile, her efforts falling flat. "You don't have to worry about me."

She eyed the zebra leg hungrily. "Do you mind if we eat and talk at the same time?" she asked politely.

Keir giggles when she said the thing about the rabbits."So your the one that scare that rabbit?"He giggle some more and just smile. He flet gald that she was ok and he was helping her. He really couldn't understand why she could not hunt but it was not he place to ask.

"Oh but I have worry about a yong lioness out on her own! You could get hurt and that would be bad! Keir would never forgive his self if a young lady would die on his accont. Oh What is your name?"He said as he bite into the zebra leg.

"Yeah we can eat and talk! I'm doing it now!"He said with a giggle.

Amira didn't really understand how it was funny that she'd missed her mark when hunting the rabbit, but she smiled along with Keir. He was feeding her, after all.

"But it wouldn't be your fault if I died. It would be mine. Mine, because...because I'm a lousy lioness. My name's Princess Amira! But since I'm not really a princess....you can just call me Amira, I suppose," she said, flicking her tail.

She smiled at the lion, chuckled at his giggle, then took a bite out of the zebra leg. It was heaven. The first real food she had eaten since her sister left. Insects and roadkill didn't count. She tore into the leg with a ferocious appetite, betraying how hungry she really was.

Inwardly, Amira chastised herself. I should really learn how to hunt, she scolded. She wouldn't be in this predicament if she had only learned to hunt before.

He bow to her. " Eat as you want Princess Amira. I am gald that I have some one to talk too. It lonely out here."He said as he look down. He start to think then with a smile said"You know that Princess should not hunt they should have lion and lioness bring food too! LIKE I DID!"He said as he rip some of the zebra leg and chew it.

She seem to be really happy with the zebra leg. He really wanted to why she hunt and he couldn't stand so he ask "Why don't you know how to hunt? If you don't want to say it ok.. I was just wondering..."

"What is your name?" she asked, laughing as he bowed to her. "It is lonely," she agreed, a sad smile on her face. Her sister's departure had taught her that. "I suppose real princesses would have someone do that for them. But like I said, I'm not really a princess...I want to be someday, though. Is that silly?" she asked, taking another bite of the zebra.

She sighed when he asked her about her abysmal hunting skills. "I never learned. My mother died when I was still a cub...so my sister took care of me. She never made me learn, and now that I'm grown...well, I'm kind of useless. What kind of lion is one who can't hunt?" She frowned, shuffling her paws uncomfortably. She felt so ashamed, like she was only half a lioness. She wasn't any good to anyone like this. But...wait! "Hey! Maybe you could teach me? Would you do that?"

"My name is Keir, Princess Amira." He said as he bow again making sure his head was lower there hers."Yes it is lonely but the best part is meeting with something and talking to it! Like the other day I was talk to a rabbit. I didn't eat hin because I ate that day so there no need to hunt."

He sat next to her and just smile and said"Nope. I don't think its silly at all. Everyone has a dream. I hope one day you make that dream come true. Now Keir just listen to her sad story. He felt bad for asking her. Then she ask him something that made him feel confuesd but happy and mad all at the same time. He not the one to do lots of work but if he had to or wanted to(which it mostly never) he'll do it. He sat up and look at her."You want Me to do what?!"

"It's good to meet you, Keir," she said politely, smiling at him. He was a rather peculiar lion. After all, she had never heard of anyone who willingly talked to prey without intent to cause it harm. She wouldn't do that. Of course, she couldn't pick and choose what to hunt, either. She wasn't nearly skilled enough.

She listened silently as he talked about her dream. Even if he didn't think it was silly, that didn't mean everyone else didn't. Fila had told her she was being ridiculous, and Fila was the most reasonable, logical lioness she knew. Amira decided that Keir was just being nice. It was sweet of him, but...she knew that her dreams might never come true.

She was startled at his reaction to her request. "I want you to teach me how to hunt. It shouldn't be too hard, not for an excellent hunter like you," she said, attempting to flatter him into teaching her. "I'll listen to everything you say, and do exactly what you tell me to! It'll be fun, like a game! You won't even mind at all, now will you? Surely you'd do this little thing for me?" She flashed him her best pleading expression, her eyes wide-eyed in mock innocence. If that didn't do the trick, she didn't know what would.

"Nice to meet you too,Princess Amira!"He begun to sway his talk back and foe. He was really trying to keep clam. Lazy Lion like himself don't teach let alone hunt! He laugh at walk said about him being an 'excellent hunter'. This was really hard for him should he help her or not. No he had! This is a girl trying to be Princess after all! He began to run off!

"Ok! Let see how fast you are! Come get pertty Princess! Can fine lady like you tag me? Uh! Pus I'm lazy so this should be good! This is you first task! NOW TAG ME Princess!!He said with a srimk. "HAHAHA YOU CAN TAG ME!!!!!he said as he bedun to ran faster!

Amira blinked for a minute. He wanted her to play a child's game...so she could learn to hunt? It just didn't make sense. Nevertheless...she couldn't let him best her, much less provoke her like that. A grin slowly forming on her face, she took off after the lion, her tawny paws stirring up sand wherever they fell. "I think I will catch you, Keir!" she called, her tail whipping behind her.

But she was slow, for she hadn't practiced running very often, and she worried that she wouldn't be able to catch him. He didn't seem all that thrilled about teaching her, and though she was grateful for his help, she didn't want him to feel obligated to her. Sooner or later, they would part ways, and she would be alone again. If she had learned something from their encounter, then good. But if not, she wouldn't be any worse off than she already was.

Amira ran as fast as she could, attempting to catch up with the black lion.

Keir stop running and look at her. "Now look around to see a way for you to jump on me! I now I'm not moving anymore but this be go good way to to teach you how to grain speed and way to jump on your prey to catch them." He began to move back and foe to make hard on to jump on him. He hope this could make anytype of since to her or he would have fail her.

"When to jump on me make sure you aim for my neck! That how you kill him! but don't kill me!" He said with a grin. Trying to more back and foe was hard thing to do but he did it jump hoping he she would know when to jump."You gotta make sure the timing is just rigth jump, Ok! Or it will be a miss! Just keep frocs and you can do it!!"He said with hope.

Now he wanted her to jump on him? What sort of training was this? But...if he could hunt, then he had a step up on her. So she would listen to him. After all, she knew nothing about hunting. Who was to say that following his directions couldn't make her a better hunter?

Amira nodded her understanding, then tried to double her speed. She wanted to tackle him good, so that he'd be proud of her success. She ran at him, then, using all her leg strength, sprang at his neck. She fell short by a few inches, landing on his shoulders. She rolled to her feet and, with a mock snarl, she snapped her jaws at him playfully. "Like this? And then I'd bite down?" She stepped off of him, prancing a few steps. She'd actually hit something! Sure, she'd missed her target by a bit, but she'd come closer than she'd ever come before.
