Feya fluttered over mist covered plain. These few days were so warm all snow melted away but that brought heavy mists. She couldn't see too far in front of her what made her almost crash in few trees standing in her way. Thanks to her fast manoeuvres she managed to avoid disaster and continued forts determined to get out of this thick white vail that covered the land with only a hope she wont come across any new obstacles.

Fastosus was roaming the land, as he was wont to do, enjoying the fact that there was no snow for the moment. He really only minded snow when it was melting and making a mess of things. As far as things went, he actually enjoyed the effect of snow on the landscape, though it tended to build up on his armor and wings.
Now the world was covered in a cold mist, that hid most things. The green accents on his armor would, if the intermittent sunlight obliged, show through the mist and reveal his location to anyone who might be out there. Even his armor would help clue a stranger in, former darker shadows against the mist that didn't quite correspond to a human or Soquili form. It was his grey hide that would be the hardest to see in this kind of weather.

Feya soon got tired of all the fluttering around with no result. It was obvious she won't get out of this mist until it decides to lift away as the day grown older. On top of all it was so early that the sun didn't get a chance to take a higher place in the sky so it was pretty dark. Best she could do now is to find a place to take cover and wait.
After some more fluttering Feya spotted a place she could take a rest. It seemed as a big rock with two tree like things growing on it. So not thinking too much about it she fluttered towards it and found a nice spot to land on. But as soon as she did that the ground she found herself on felt kind of too soft. What could it be?! She tapped her hoofs on it just to make sure she wasn't imagining it and lowered her head to inspect what was she standing on. Instead of the moss she was expecting to find she was standing on... fur?!

Fastosus was completely unaware that he wasn't alone in the mist until he felt something on his rump. There shouldn't have been anything back there, much less...footsteps? Immediately suspicious, the stallion craned his head around as best he could without removing his armor.
There, on his furry rump, was a miniature Soquili. Adorned with flowers and delicately translucent wings, she was clearly a Flutter mare. However, that certainly didn't explain what on earth she was doing treating him like a landscape.
Clearing his throat, they grey stallion addressed the problem directly. "What, madam, do you think you're doing?" Between the narrowed eyes and the annoyance in his tone, the stallion had the capacity to be somewhat intimidating - if his audience allowed herself to be intimidated.

Feya felt shudder cross through her spine as she heard the voice. Her mind was screaming run for you're life but her legs were paralyzed so the only thing she did do was turn her head slowly to see what was going to eat her. Sight of the stranger got her even more scared.
'' Monster! ''
Such scary looking expression she never saw before. Was this what her mother was talking about when she mentioned all the dangers that wait in outside world. Was this how the evil ones looked.
'' Don't eat me mr. monster! I'm too small and not too tasty! ''

Fastosus had to wonder if the mare was ignorant or stupid. Either way, it didn't raise his estimation of females. He debated momentarily what sort of approach to use. Given how terrified she seemed, he chose a less...fearsome...reaction.
The stallion snorted, a puff of warmer air that left his nostrils to join the mist around them both. "I'm no monster," he retorted, a touch of exasperation in his voice. "I'm a Soquili, like you. Or like you would be, if you weren't a little Flutter mare."
He eyed her, judging, and continued. "As for eating you, I'm no Kalona to add meat to my diet."
"Now," he went on, changing the subject, "why are you standing on my back?"

'' You're not? ''
Feya turned around to face the stranger and get a better look of him. Still he didn't look any less scary. Expression on his face did not look friendly but at least it didn't seem he was planing on eating her.
Feya totally forgot where she was standing until stallion pointed out she was on his back. She looked in the fur ground she was standing on and than back at stallion.
'' Oh... Oh! I didn't realize you were alive. I thought it was just some random rock. ''

Fastosus closed his eyes and swallowed his anger. It wouldn't do any good to hurt the mare. Besides...she was somewhat pretty. And he did like how intimidated she was...this could be to his advantage.
"Rocks don't generate heat or grow fur," he pointed out sternly. "And no, I'm not going to eat you because not only do I not eat meat, it would be a waste to eat a mare." He didn't explain the entirety of his logic, that mares were necessary breeders for the continuation of the species which would quickly become extinct without them, as well as being ornamental and pleasurable to look upon.

'' Well I suppose that is true... but... oh... well it is hard to see anything in this kind of weather. ''
Feya shifted her weight between her feet. This was an uncommonly situation she experienced for the first time. And she actually had no idea what to do exactly.
'' I do apologize if I disturbed you in anything. ''

Fastosus raised his eyebrows - difficult to see beneath his headpiece if one wasn't looking for it. What sort of excuse was that? He was perfectly capable of observing the lack of visibility for himself. Really, the question was, why had she remained on his back when he was clearly not a rock or other inanimate object?
He could feel her shifting her weight around on his back. He could see that she was uncomfortable. And it gave him a sense of power, to loom over her and see her so offput. Only long habit allowed his smile of superiority to stay off his face.
"Oh, not at all," he replied, charming with a steely undertone. "It is difficult to be disturbed by a lovely mare. But I would appreciate it if you would cease to use my back as a standing place. It is most inconvenient to have to crane my neck around to speak with you, my dear..."
The stallion allowed his voice to trail off, inviting - no! demanding - that she provide her name.

Feya relaxed. By now she was sure there was no danger to hand around this stallion.
'' Oh! Right! ''
She giggled to herself. How silly she must have acted. Still it was no surprise she forgot to introduce herself with the way the met. Leaving stallions back she fluttered in front of him so she would be in his sight. Putting a big smile on she spoke confidently.
'' Ahem... well hello there. My name is Feya. ''
Stallions face still looked scary and Feya tried to figure out what was missing on it to make it bit more friendlier. Smile fell on her mind. Yea smile. But somehow she had problem to imagine it. The more she looked at it the more her smile faded. And soon he started to remind her of her mother when she made her really angry. She felt an urge to ask ' Was the thing I did really that bad? ' but she swallowed the question.

Green eyes followed the flutter's flight path as she left his back and migrated around to be in front of him without encouraging or condemning. At least the mare was capable of following direction. That was certainly a point in her favor, though not unexpected.
Manners required that he introduce himself as well, and the stallion inclined his head. "I am Fastosus." It seemed that she continued to be intimidated by him. That was helpful. He didn't much care for a mare who would act on her own or contrary to his wishes.
"Now, what has you flying around in this weather, searching for rocks to land on?" The stallion's voice was not quite chiding for Feya's earlier mistake, but his tone made it clear he remembered and would not forget.

'' Well I was hoping to run away from this mist. It seems as if it is everywhere. ''
Feya felt that her wings are getting heavy again and she looked around to find a comfortable place to land. This weather was surely not fun and moisture was really getting on her nerves. Landing on soft grass not to far in front of the stallion she raised her head. The stallion was four times bigger than her. Wishing she could find a higher place to stand on Feya looked around and soon gave up when she couldn't find anything usable.
'' Well it is nice to meet you. I am sorry but I'll have to remind on the ground. This moisture in the air makes my wings heavy. ''

Fastosus raised an eyebrow. Someone watching his face might notice it this time, given that it was only a single eyebrow and not both, leading to a difference between how the two eyes appeared. Outrunning mist? Mist was not something to be outrun but outwaited. He considered that folly as he watched the mare grow weary and forced to land on the grass below. It really was such a long way down.
Still, he had some interest yet in prolonging the conversation. So, to that end as well as to be polite, the stallion folded his legs beneath himself and knelt upon the wet grass. It was no worse, he judged, than when she had stood on his back, though this time he didn't have to crane his neck to see her.
"You cannot outrun mist," he pointed out once he was comfortable, not responding to her admission of weakness. "Mist is to be outwaited by the patient. The impatient become lost in it and cannot find their way out." A nice metaphor for life. All things came to those who were patient.

'' Really? Well that isn't fun. ''
Being a flutter Feya was always full of life. If she had nothing to do she got bored pretty quickly. Frowning her little face for a second she wished it was late spring already. Winter wasn't so fun as she used to remember it. But no matter how much she tried to figure it out she couldn't see what was could be cause for so big difference. Maybe this was what her mother was trying to tell her when she said that outside world is so much different from they're little hidden land.
'' What do you do while you wait? ''
