Have you ever seen anything so pure, or so white,
Falling from the sky?
Have you ever seen anything so beautiful, so soft,
Wherein darkness lies?
Snow is like many things in life; it always has two sides.
One to brighten up your life, to help your dreams to fly,
But the other one is simply there to drag you down...
And it will delight to help you die.
So now my question is to you,
In these dark time that we know;
When your light finally shines on through,
Will you stay, or will you go?
Winter Academy is a prestigious school, funded by the government for many, many years. However, it's not a school for normal students - it's a school for those who are not human, or not quite. And, when you receive the letter, offering a full scholarship, one thing is made clear; if you do not go, the government will hunt you down, for you are and will always be a danger to the sanity of the human race. Therefore, I now ask you the real question;
Will you die or will you go?

Winter Academy is set on a small island - however, this island is invisible to all human eyes, so it's never been 'discovered' before. And here it is where the snow makes the top ten list of heaviest snowfall in history, and that's in the world. Here, it's always cold and there's always at least three inches of snow on the ground, and the school itself was built on the side of a small mountain, overlooking a tiny village where others that are not human live - if you will, it's an island that was specifically found for non-humans. But because of the constant snow and near sub-zero temperatures, some people come to the school only to never make it out, for they freeze to death before their time. So, will you make it through and start your life, or will you die before you can ever begin?

• -- The Basics -- •
Well, you know these; No godmodding, cybering, killing without permission, blahblahblahblah. Just follow the ToS and you'll be fine, ja? Good. Now let's move on.
• -- Who's Who -- •
You can have up to five characters, but you must keep track of them all!!! Really, how confusing is it when you have one character talking to someone else's and they just suddenly die? Is it too much to ask? No, I don't think so - so just make sure you know who's talking//going where, and we'll be fine. Verdad? Bueno.
• -- Ooh! Pretty! -- •
I'm not asking you go all the way with plenty of icons and pretty pictures and stuff like that. All I'm asking is that you place your character's name in the post, as well as their picture, and add in their quote from their profile as well. It's really not hard to do, and if you're having trouble you can just ask and I'll help you, or someone else who's a pro at all the placement of the symbols and all that crap that I haven't learned yet (kudos to you!!). So, just to review; picture, name, quote, and color.
• -- Oh s**t! -- •
Okay, so obviously from the title of this rule I don't really care if you swear. But don't ******** swear after every goddamned line or i'll have to b***h at you like a ******** f**. Yeah, no one likes it when you talk like that, so please don't. If you have a passive-aggressive character, or just a plain ol' anger-issues abandoned character, please control them, too a degree.
• -- How Do You Pronounce This..? -- •
This is a mainly literate, but also semi-lit roleplay. This means NO ONE-LINERS!!! Spelling - eh, who cares. Try your best, but I know that not all of us are a walking dictionary, or use Mozilla Firefox with a built-in spell checker. But really, correct grammar isn't that hard, unless your character purposefully speaks that way. Oh, and one more thing: No chat, text, or leet speak. Entiende? Good.
• -- S as in Ending -- •
This is something that ticks me off the most. Third person, past-tense speaking is the way to go. No "I didn't know what she had said, so I asked again." No first person. Also no "She decides to think nothing of it, and goes on with her day." No present-tense. Confusing, non-literate in most cases, and annoying as hell. To be more correct; I'd rather see hell frozen over twice than have to constantly deal with decoding first person and present-tense s**t. Really. Just go and pick up any book older than five years and you'll see how you should post. I mean it.
• -- We Really Can? -- •
Romance, violence, twisted evil plots, sacrifice, bloodshed, betrayal, killing in the name of any god or goddess, killing in the name of revenge, killing to avenge, killing just to piss someone off, and cheating are all highly encouraged. Just keep it PG-17 (for those that are squeamish about blood and gore) and make sure you ask before killing. Also, I only put romance in there once for a reason - teary, weepy "I can't believe he dumped me! We were perfect for each other!" plots are not encouraged. That's unimaginative and unoriginal, and I know everyone can better than that. Why don't you be more creative, say....have your character injure the other guy/girl your boy/girlfriend is cheating on you with...? Yes, that'd be nice. Just ask permission!!!!

I'm your new official goddess! What I say goes, and that will mainly be with time, date, weather, and busting up fights if they're too graphic. I control all aspects of space, time, and weather on this forum, so don't suddenly screw up a nice day unless you're gonna put in the exact details of what you've done, so I can change the weather. Got it? Da? Good.

Have fun or I'm kicking your a** into hell. Not really, but who wants a boring ol' roleplay? This was created to cure boredom, not create it, ja?

Cold. That was all Emily could say about the weather. She hated the cold. She missed the warm sunny winters of Texas. Being wrapped up in a billion layers of clothes didn't help, either. 'Why am I outside?' Emily asked herself, shivering as she walked towards the school.
Damn the government. She wanted to leave. But, she had no idea how to get home from here. She needed to get to her dorm. She made her way inside the school, and it was really warm. She found her way back up to her dorm and she shed her last three layers and kept the first two. Then, she walked back down stairs, to see if she could find something to do.

Leilani Lotti "It's better to have few true friends than lots of acquaintances" Leilani had just arrived at the airport of this small little island, smaller than the one where she came from. At first she was excited to take her first step outside the warm airport, she had never seen snow in her life, but then she started to feel sick. Never in her life was she freezing and it wasn't a nice feeling, she guessed that since she was from a tropical island the cold affected her more. Not being able to stand the cold, even if she was covered in all types off winter clothing, she entered the airport again with her carry on backpack and her wolf-dog puppy Dane right behind her(the rest of her luggage would be taken directly to her dorm room), sat on a chair and tried think of a way she could manage the walk to the school. "What are we going to do Dane?". Her pet only looked at her and barked once, answering her in his canine way(which she understood perfectly as if he was speaking normal human English) that he had no idea.
Suddenly she had a great idea. Leilani walked to the bathrooms, Dane right behind her, shed all her clothes, placed them in her backpack which she then adjusted the straps and changed into a Polar Bear. She laughed at the faces of the people, but then again when was the last time they have seen a Polar bear with a backpack walking out of the airport with a wolf-dog pup following closely behind. In her new form she nodded to Dane and they both started the hike to the school.

_______________________________________ Bri was jolted awake as the tires of the taxi she was in rolled over a small speed bump. Looking blearily out of the window she was leaning against, all fatigue was forgotten as she saw the magnificent school before her, along with the mountain it somehow managed to stay perched upon. Covered in a layer of gossamer snow, it seemed to shimmer iridescently in the afternoon sun. "It's beautiful!" she exclaimed with a gasp, which made the taxi driver smile. He, too, was a part of this island, and he picked up new students like Bri from the airport all the time - yet still their reactions never ceased to get a chuckle out of him.
Soon, the cab had pulled up to the front of the school, where Bri saw a few students lounging about in heavy winter layers, normally with at least one other person. Smiling, she quickly handed the driver the correct amount of money before slipping out and getting her bags. With a quickly muttered incantation, all bags were up in her dorm, which she already knew to be number 102. Stepping lightly through the several inches of snow - rather floating, really, in her wonder - she skipped up the steps and into the main office, where she received her dorm key, map, and schedule, as well as a few school rules. In a matter of ten minutes, she'd gone up to her room, put everything away, and come back outside to sit underneath a large evergreen with her writing journal. Happily, she unlocked the leather-bound book and started writing, waiting for others to arrive. ____________________________________________________ You've left me here, it's over with, darkness is my light,

Leilani Lotti "It's better to have few true friends than lots of acquaintances" She arrived at school after 30 minutes of hiking in the snow. She was amazed at how big the school was. "It looks like it came out of a fantasy book, doesn't it Dane." The pup only nodded a yes. She entered the school, shaking the snow off her bear coat before entering and Dane doing the same, and noticed that it was very warm. Still she continued to the main office, since she didn't know were the bathroom was so she could change.
Leilani guessed that the secretary at the main office was a bit startled when she heard an "Excuse me miss" from a bear, but guessed she was use to seeing unordinary things like this. "Um, I would like the key to my dorm and stuff, please. My name is Leilani Lotti."The secretary had given her all her things and also placed them in her backpack since Leilani didn't want to slobber on it. She then instructed Leilani to the nearest female bathroom.
Leilani went into a stall, changed into her human form and got dressed, Dane waiting for her outside the stall. She then took out everything the secretary had given her. "Look, Dane, we have a map, our dorm key, a rule book and my schedule. Why don't we find our dorm room first? Then we'll go to the cafeteria, cause I bet your hungry." Dane wagged his tail furiously and barked to times, which meant: "Yey! Food! I'm Starving!". So they started they're search for dorm room #100.
