This story takes place in a planet not so far from our own, yet several hundreds of lightyears away. This planet had speacil metals and properties, that gave life forms the ability to morph if they learned from the old teaching, that were forgotten. Only rare, can a person now morph anymore, only teaching by word of mouth. On this planet, there are other creatures, such as dragon, trolls, dwarfs, elfs, and humans, that dont look completly like us, that also slaughtered and killed many of the morphs, afraid of thier power. Now there are so few, they are honored. We are now at a setting, where a few mercenary morphs that find each other, and forever, change the world of thier planet

On the only continent that everyone knows, Azeion [AZZ-ey-on] is split up in multipal area's, where each race has thier specailties. The Northern iceland, known as Snow Drift, is a barren ice waste land, only the brave travel. The near by troll warriors, once they retire, walk in the barrens of the ice, surviveing if they can. noone knows if they have, or have not.

further south, from the mountain side, to a great lake know as Lady Luna, lies the Troll Leigion. The Trolls mainly have one mega city, known as Troplian, and tribes and smaller town scatter the area, perserving life, and trying to make thier barren ice land, green.

the mountains, that go from the barren plians, to the sea, are the Father King Mountains. Long, tall, and wide, no other land gets higher then these mountains. the Dwarves live inside, selling thier black smith goods, and fishing goods, where most exotic fish are caught and sold that you get only from the sea.

where the lake ends at the south, starts a forest, that hits a dessert so harsh, no living thing has said to live. However, the elfs in the forest thnk otherwise. The elves are known for thier exotic fighting stlye, and the way they perserve life, and thier longivity. When a elf elder decides to wonder, they go into the dessert, to try to spread thier forest, and turn the dessart into a wonderland.

The Humans take up the rest of the space inbetween, making multiple city's, and exspanding. they are known for thier farming, and vegitable goods, that cant be grown in a forest or mountain side. The humans have no real tradition, and usually folow one of the trolls or elfs tridition of walking the lands, although not comitting suicide.

the Lands furthest south are unknown and unclaimed, due to the dragons. the dragons have a harsh magic, making them tough to kill and defeat. they are very territorial as well, making sure noone enters thier boundry. with no way to comunitcate, until maybe soon, every race has a common enemy, The dragons.

We begin our story on a outskirt of a human city, before enturing the elf forest, a human city called Mayes.

Aradom finally reached the town of Mayes. He needed to resupply to go to the city of fortune, the first elfish city in the woods. In human tounge, its called the city of fortune, but in elfish tounge, he could not pronounce it. After dealing with bandits all night long, he needed healing slaves, medical kits, his weapons taken care of .. Aradom shook his head. There was too many of them, and it was going to cost him. Cost him so much, where he might not have rest, until he actully got to the city. Aradom entered the town, although being the first time in the town, was lost. He asked a city gaurd where to go, and decided to service his weapons first. Without his weapons, he was nothing.

Katiera* was just finishing up her shift. Selling fruit and vegetables for that old fool wasn't the first thing she would have picked but when you stayed in one place for so little time you took whatever job you were offered.

It hadn't always been like this though. She'd had a family once, and a home, and friends. Back when she thought she was normal. Before she'd discovered her gift, her curse.
She'd read about Morphs, studied them in school, but never really believed they existed, at least not anymore. But that all changed when she stumbled into her own abilities. At first she thought it was great, and she shared her secret with her best friend, but unfortunately some high up members of the town caught wind of it. One night she awoke to the smell of smoke, realizing someone had set the house alight. They had done it out of fear, for the tales passed down through generations had always depicted the Morphs as evil, as something to be feared. She understood why they would want to kill her, but her parents were innocent, they carried the gene to her but they were not Morphs themselves. She managed to escape the fire, but her parents were not as lucky.
She'd been on the run ever since then, she knew if anyone found out her secret she would be hunted. It was this 'gift' that got her family, her home, her life taken away from her, and no longer did she view it as a 'gift' but as a 'curse'.

As she was attending to her last customer, her eyes drifted passed him to a young man she didn't recognise. There was something strange about him, something not quite right, but she couldn't place her finger on it. She stared for a moment as he wandered.
"Ahem, my change please?" The customer urged, snapping her back to reality. She handed over the mans purchase and change absently before he waddled off impatiently. She scanned the crowd but the man who had caught her attention was nowhere to be seen.
She just shrugged and waved him off as some newcomer who was lost. It wasn't like he was the first anyway.
She grabbed her pay from the boss and headed across the marketplace. She couldnt wait to get back to the hotel and rest.

Aradom was always different. The first reason was his skin color. Almost as grey as a Trolls, but light enough not to be a troll. It was a silver color, which when he morphed, he turned into a silver dragon. But that wasnt all the differences. He had golden eyes, that not alot of people reconise, Until they see him at night. And he had no ears. Instead, they were inside his head. But he always told them reasons. His ears were cut off, and he was a morph, Just a lizard though. Which was half true, technically. Dragons are just oversized fire breathing dragons right? The other differnce, was his armour and battle gear. The average Mercenary couldnt carry this much, as he needed alot of strength to carry and move as he did. One of the qualities of a dragon morph. But more then once, he wished he was a cat morph, for stealth and speed reasons.

Aradom came too with his thoughts, as he saw the Blacksmith sign on the over head door. He walked in, and saw it was a small blacksmith. Not the work he wanted done, but the work he needed done would suffice. He walked up to the counter, and waited for the man to finish with an axe, before coming to him.

"I need these serviced, and brand new. Headed to the elf city of fortune, so i kinda need them in perfect shape. Think you can do it?" He asked, now knowing the man's skill.

The man just smiled, as he brought out his own, hand crafted sword. It was beautiful, and had all of the knicks and knacks Aradom needed. "Alright, looks like im not dealing with an amature. Ill give you all of my weapons, pay for your charge, plus an extra 100 gold coins if you get them done by mid day tomarrow."

The mans eyes grew larger. "I-I can try. But this was no hasty work. Exspeaclly to three weapons."

"Try is all i ask. Extra 100 gold coins if you can." Aradom needed to leave the next day, and usually tipped well for that, but he gave the guy an extra 50 to make him do it, and to challenge him. "Ok" was the man's simple reply, as Aradom left the door, to go to the herbs and alchemy store for provisons and slaves.

By the time Katiera reached the Inn, the sun had started to sink. She hurried past the attendant, down the long stone hall and into her room. It wasn't the prettiest place, or the most comfortable, but it was one of their best. She was feeling a little tired, but it wasn't time to sleep yet. It was her last night in Mayes, and she had a few things to set in order before she left.
After packing her things and running a few errands, she changed into something a little more fitting - an elegant sapphire dress, embroidered with tiny crystals around the shoulders (something she picked up from a rather wealthy traveller back in the last town) and matching sandles - then she headed out to The Half Moon; the most expensive restaurant in the town. She'd worked hard and now had a sturdy sum of gold coins as a result. She deserved it, and what better way to leave this place than with a big expensive meal in her stomach.
She seated herself and it wasn't too long until the waiter approached, handing her a flashy off-white menu.
"Dining alone, Madam?" He asked with a posh accent.
Katiera gave only the slightest nod in response as she skimmed over the menu, the waiter leaving to give her a moment to decide.

Aradom left the alcchemist store an hour later, his bags full of potions and herbs. After that, he went to a butcher shop, and ordered a week's full of meat. Even though it was more or less three weeks to a month to get to fortune city, with another town along the way, he usually hunted at night, leaving the meat for emergencies only.

After fulling his sack with provisions, potions, herbs, and stuff of the like, he decided it was time to go to sleep. The sun was well beneath the horizon now, and he wanted some sleep if he was to get up and leave by mid day. The sooner the better. Aradom asked around what Inn he should take, and it seem like a decent sized inn was the best place. The beds were comfortable enough to sleep well, yet wake up in time if he heard something. The hall was also made out of stone, perfect for defense. lastly, his door had a lock. Alot more then what other inn he has been in have.

He picked the very last door to the right of the up stairs hallway, being by himself with an exception of one other person. He thought it was perfect, and tried getting info on the one staying near him, but not much was said, besides she was a female, and her name was Katiera. Aradom shook off the fact that it might be a hostile, and decided to relax the night. He got his herbology book, and started to do some light reading, as he was trying to make his own potions, as herbs were startibg to get harder to find and the price for potions increasing.

The bill set Katiera back a pretty penny, but her stomach had no complaints whatsoever. After returning to the Inn, and feeling like she'd doubled her previous weight, sleep was all the could think about.
As she approached her room and fumbled for her key, she heard a faint but unrecognizable sound coming from the room next to hers. It was odd, since she thought she was the only one occupying this floor. She put her ear to the door, hearing nothing but the low steady hum that she couldn't place.
Could be anything. She thought to herself, turning back to her own door. And i don't have time for this, i must get to bed, i have an early start tomorrow.
Once she got inside, she didn't even bother to change before dropping onto the bed and drifting off.

Aradom heard the footsteps of the girl come near his door, and then go away, into the room. Figureing it was weird to have a neighbor, s/he went to bed. Aradom, at the thought of bed, decided that he would as well, getting up and going to his own bed, taking out his knife that was in his boot, and put it under the pillow. he got in bed, layed on his back, with his right side facing the door, and his right hand on the dagger. he was ready for rest now, and slowly drifted off.

Katiera awoke bright and early the next morning. There wasn't much noise outside, except for a rooster and a few other birds chirping. There were a few golden rays of light beaming around the heavy curtains, spreading enough light around the room. She changed out of the blue dress from last night, and put on something a bit heavier. She had a lot of travelling to do today, having no idea how far away the next town was, or even what town it was. All she knew was that she had to keep moving. She couldn't risk anyone else finding out her secret. She knew she was still being hunted.
She gathered up her things, placing them all in her bag and headed out the door. But as soon as she opened it she stood still, staring straight into a pair of shining golden eyes.

Aradom Got up before the sin was up. A bad habbit he had, but did it on purpose. He sacrificed Sleep for safety and preparedness. Aradom strapped on his armour and provisions. when everything was set, he waited until the was at least some sun rays. his eyes glowed in the dark, setting an ancient power from the dragons to work.

Aradom thought alittle, and listened to the sounds of nature, until he brought himself to the door, and stepped out. as he did, he heard the oppisate door click, and immediatly went for his blade, but did not draw it. he then stared into an eyes of a pretty girl, ready for travel. Aradom immeaditly thought it was another morph, but had no proof. "Hello." He said politly, wondering if it was light enough for his eyes not to sparkle.

Katiera was frozen, trapped in his devastating beauty. The way his dark hair stuck up, the way his shirt emphasised every muscle and there was something about those eyes. Something odd, but strangely familiar. And for a brief second she thought she saw them flash.
Don't just stand there like a moron. Say something! The voice in her head scolded, and it took her a moment to act on it.
"Um... Hi." She replied awkwardly, trying not to stare.
You idiot! Is that the best you can do? The voice snapped again.
She looked him over again, oh god he was hot! And those eyes were mezmerising. She couldn't just go. There was something about him.
"Um..... Im heading down to get breakfast." She struggled to get the words out. "Would you like to join me?"

Aradom thought of the best way to approch the matter, and how to get her away without reveiling his abilities. "No sorry, I got some business to attend to, then I'm leaving town. However, breakfast would have been very nice."

He decided to reach into his coin purse, and get out three gold. "If we did have breakfast, one gold coin would cover both of us, and two extra for good company. Also, please dont speak about me, I dont want any complications."

With that, aradom walked away, downstairs into the dawn light. With a sigh of relief, he knew now his eyes wont give him away. He wondered if he was too suspicous, and decided to head for the armory and leave town as quick as possiable.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 04, 2010 6:07 am

Katiera stood frozen for a moment after the stranger left. Part of her was disappointed, for she hadn't made many friends since she began running and she just blew another chance to make one, Not to mention how good looking he was. Yet part of her was relieved. It was an awkward moment to say the least, one she could have made a lot smoother if she hadn't been caught off guard.
He probably has someone already. She thought to herself. Lucky girl.
She tried to just let it go. He was just one man on his way through, just like her. And it's not like it should bother her, there were plenty more where he came from. Surely she would find some company somewhere along the track.
She let slide the awkward moment in the hall, and the chance to make a new friend... Even the fact that he was the best looking guy she'd ever laid eyes on, but there was still something odd about him. Something she couldn't just forget like that.
She decided not to let it get to her, though it remained in the back of her mind, and continued down to get the breakfast she would now be having alone.

Aradom went to the Armoury, and knocked on the door. It was so early in the morning, that he, and most stores, were still closed. When they guy came, and opened the door, he looked shocked. "You wernt joking when you said you would leave early huh? Come take a look." He said as we walked hehind a metal counter, and picked up his weapons and placed them on the bench "You said mid day, so the small axe aint done, but the other two are." Thats fine. I forgot I said mid-day. Continue your work. It looks very good by the way keep up the good work. Extra 25, if you get this done in one hour. Ill go have some breakfast." The blacksmith nodded, and went to work.

Aradom was now sad that he declined the poor girl's invintation. She was pretty, and wouldnt mind having comapny around. He went back to the Inn, and looked for her. When he saw her, he went and sat down. "Sorry, looks like I do have time. My wepaons wont be done for another hour. Names Jack by the way." Aradom never used his real name.
