Simu Fan Art Contest!

How about we try and run a small fanart contest? Everyone could donate a minimum amount, and because we have the problem of some people having not much money to spare, we'll make it so that everyone's donations count the same. If you're very generous, and you can spare more, then we'll love you! :O We'd try and make sure everyone gets fanart.

I'd love to have a category for each Simu, so that they've all got their own prizes. In fact... if we can somehow manage to raise 10k for each Simu, it could be entirely up to the guardian of the Simu and companions to decide what the catergery is.

Say... you might want it just of that Simu, or you love Chibi art, or realism, or black/white art. Or, you'd like to see a certian scene... costume. For example, 'Best Chibi Aurora' or 'Best Emme/Ray'.


Ideas are...
Best overall, Best Child Simu, Best teenage Simu,
Best Simu/Guardian couple, Best Simu/Simu couple. (And that is not limited to romance, a hate-hate, or friendship couple would be pretty cool.), Best Group picture, ( XD Neith'd love to see this-) Best Light Simu/Dark Simu picture.



But we'd need to brainstorm for this idea, so what do other people think? ^_^

I love the idea. Ronin art would be interesting to see !

A picture of him playing the flute would be great. Just tell me how much gold I need to donate ^_^

A 'siblings' category would be nice as well, showing e.g. Ronin and Nobu ( another character of mine ). Some kind of group thingy too

So, is this going to be open in the art contest forum or something? Or just aorund here? And would we be able to enter if it's the former .. or even the latter? I'm game however it's being planned out and most the catergories so far seem pretty damn good and such.

OMG! I just started an auction so I could RUN a Simulacrum FanART contest!

I didn't even know about this thread!

If no one has gotten too far with this idea, I'd like to take over this thing, if you don't mind. I'll put a LOT of my personal funds into it as well as everthing that I get from the line art auction I'm running, and the last simulacra auciton I just ran.

I ran a contest last summer, and I ran one before that for my wedding. Art contests are most of the reason I do this gaia thing. *shrugs* I'm weird. I don't even enter them. I just like running them. ^_- I ran a ton of auctions last summer to support my habit and fund my ever growing contest furnds. I'll likely do the same with this one.

Anything you guys might want to donate would be wonderful.

I think it will take at LEAST a month to get my funds together to see what I can offer as prizes. AS it is, I've got over 100k worth of gold from my last auction. If I sell my december letter and scarf, that'll probably double or tripple that. I've got a few more letters I'll be giving up as well.

I'll set up the contest thread within the month so we can start asking for donations and spreadding the word.

I think the contest should last 2-3 months AT LEAST to give the artists enough time to produce quality work.

Also, to encourage the owners to RP and clean up their journals for the contest(not that i think any of the journals are ugly, but a little friendly competition would be fun!), I was thinking of offering an art prize for the best Journal here at the guild. Probably a full body low resolution commission of your choice. Maybe with 2 rnnner up prizes.

Also, I'd like to finda way to encourage donations from the simulacra owners, since you guys WILL be the ones receiving the fan art!

My first idea would be that we make an art category for the best drawing of a simulacra owner (that way you can get art of YOUR avitar OR your simulacra) Though obviously, this category would have smaller prizes unless I get some awesome donations.

My second idea would be that the best donator would also be up for Art commission prizes from myself, probably like the journal prizes. I'll keep track of all of it. ^_^

*hugs* don't worry! that dept is what is funding the contest. ^__^ You don't have to worry about contributing more. Just suggestions and such are enough.

I'd think, as far as 'couples' go, we'd need to have it pretty much in general. Then we'd have a list of couples? Maybe?

But we do need each Simu's profile gathered somewhere, and how they interact with the Simu they know.
