A wide expanse where various grains such as wheat grow. There are rolling hills with man made structures interspersed amongst them. This is so that, while training, Lerato can teach himself, one way or another, to use zanjutsu properly and to not just learn the basics, but to learn everything he possibly can about the art.

[This is a prp so please don't post unless your on my designated list. The list of people who can post if they wish are Mastur Sage seeing as how he is the Zanjutsu Master and as such is my teacher, and Zaine93 because he is, afterall, my captain.]

Current Zanjutsu being trained: White Rook Style

It was late in the day and the sun was giving in to the power of the moon. The sky was painted a variety of hues ranging from violets to gold; the stars just barely starting to make themselves visible in the sky. On the earth below a breeze swept over the ground making the wheat sway in the light wind. Had someone been around, they would have felt the pressure of the world press down on them just a little harder; a pink mist blanketing the training area.

'~Try harder Lerato. For both our sakes you must learn to do this properly.~' 'I understand that Kaichou. Just give me a break. I've been doing this for hours...' '~ And you will do it for hours more if you keep taking breaks like this. Now get up. Don't make me come out there.~' 'Yeah, yeah.' He bit, getting to his feet and withdrew his zanpukato once more. He knew that she was right but it didn't make it any less taxing on the body. 'You realize if you were to materialize yourself out here, I wouldn't be able to practice properly, right?' '~What are you talking about? You don't need a sword to practice Rooks Castle.~' 'Maybe, maybe not. Do you want me to let Kusari down by not practicing as I would fight? After all, going into battle without a sword is like going into battle without the will to do what must be done. It's suicide.' '~Just get to work.~'

Laughing into the wind brought about by his reiatsu he focused on a wheat stalk that was three feet in front of the tip of his blade. The barrier popped to life a few seconds later stretching out a foot from either shoulder and standing a good three feet above his head. Without stopping to think about it he willed the barrier to come forward while he concentrated on the stalk of wheat again, forming yet another barrier of the same size. He kept this cycle up until he was physically exhausted, only a slight hint of reiatsu even left within his body.

'~Get up. If you're going to master this, you're going to need more will power then that.~' 'I'm almost dead here...' Even inside his own mind, he was panting from exhaustion. '~Then lean on me. Borrow my strength, get up, and practice.~' A feeling of strength swept through him, novel and yet familiar at the same time. The area around him started to smell of sweet roses and lilies and the same power which came from entering his inner world.

Pulling himself to his feet he looked around at the rolling hills and the stars up above him. Everything had gained a new clarity and intensity that he had never seen. '~With my strength you will see like never before. You will train until you start to bleed for me. When that happens, your debt shall be repaid and you will be allowed to stop. Now, practice.~' Nodding his head he once again rose his blade and concentrated on the thick pink mist washing over him. Barrier after barrier dissipated behind him without using it to amplify his shunpo. That is until he felt the prying at the corners of his mind once again, '~Shunpo, Lerato. Just as you must get used to focusing your reiatsu, so must you get used to traveling at such speeds.~'

[Alright, time for metal and training...]

'~Stay along the contours of the ground Lerato. They are your safety when your out amongst the hills. The less time you have to be in the direct sight of someone the better.~' Her points were valid and opposed to her usual commanding tone she seemed almost caring. '~Think of it as though you're on a bike; ride the hills and keep your speed up and your opponent will have no chance of keeping up with you.~' Doing as he was told he kept close to the ground and used shunpo to get from one barrier to the next. Having gotten used to the distance needed to form a barrier he was now able to string together Rook's Castles together three to four at a time before he started to loose focus and would tumble from his perch on top of his condensed reiatsu and would crash into the ground.

After a particularly nasty spill Lerato found himself looking up at the stars which twinkled up in the vast black sea above him. "You know, I never really took the time to look up at them before. They seem so... overwhelming." There was no real reason to speaking aloud other than to just be able to. It's true that silence is suffocating, especially to someone as naturally talkitive as he was. '~Yes, they are quite something. You should see them from where I stand.~' Through the training Lerato was starting to see Kaichou as more of a person and less of the irritating b***h that so often irked him. '~Come. Stand and continue your training while we still have the will power.~' Something new in her voice. Laughter perhaps? "Alright, alright."

Deciding it was probably safer to move on to something else the ex-captain instead decided it was time to train for all-out sprints. The sight must have been something out of a movie; a lone man shrouded in pink mist with only the backdrop of stars on a blanket of onyx behind him, the scent of roses and lilies permeating the air while he rose into the air. Once he was at a height the was far above any possible obstacles such as buildings or hills, he gathered his reiatsu into his feet and formed the barrier in front of him. Once it passed over him both the spiritual pressure around his legs and from the Rook's Castle exploded, sending Lerato flying. Without having to worry about staying along the curves of the ground he was able to easily double his speed. The feeling of the wind was addicting. It was easy to get wrapped up in the sense of flying through the air just like people did in their dreams. He never took more then two steps before concentrating to form another pink wall-like structure that he exploded through once it had passed just underneath his feet.

Minutes turned to hours which turned again to days. Finally the cloud of magenta slowly faded bringing Lerato closer and closer to the ground until finally the weight of his person was too much for it and he collapsed on to the soft wheat covered field. All was silent, the scent of Youkou Kaichou's power finally succumbing to the nature fragrance of wheat and open air. Droplets of crimson slowly leaked from his eyes and nose, ears and mouth as well as his feet and legs. '~That'll do for today Lerato. You gave it a good go. Hopefully you'll be able to maintain longer next time.~' She laughed for a few short moments and then left the man to his bloody slumber.
