"Cogito Ergo Sum" (I think therefore I am) - Rene Descartes

This phrase became one of the founding ideologies of western philosophy by the father of modern philosophy himself, Rene Descartes (also a primary figure in your math classes). This statement claims that an entity can exist if capable of thought, encompassing a social production of space as introduced by Henri Lefebvre. There is, however, a counter-claim that states "I think therefore you are", based on the fundamentals of perspective that other people (that think) are necessary to define you. Although the counter-claim may be disproved through first person singularity (idea that a person comprises of multiple personalities), it continues to be a leading statement towards existentialism.

Discuss the necessity of thought in relation to existence. Additionally, choose a side between Henri Lefebvre's idea of relational space and Rene Descartes' idea of absolute space; each of these theories greatly supports the different ideas of existence.

I think that when debating in words, everything is relative. Such is the limit of language. Words and meanings do not exist until we compare them to other things or experiences. Hence relational space will find a home in here. However, when in the physical world, there existxs only absolute space.

We as humans believe to much in what is to come, trying to unravel the mysteries of life without real understanding. We try to analyze, but never look at the direct truth, straight in front of us.

We look too much into the future and forget about the present. As such, information and discussion in much further detail is completely redundant.

PHEW~ Tell me what you think of that^^

A word from the real me:

Uh... Analyze? I'm 13. For all intents and purposes, you should have no more trouble reading my writing than decoding something "LYK3 D1S."

What I'm saying is that we should be more concerned with the physical world, because in all, that will be what counts.
So many people have tried to fathom the mysteries of the universe, and wasted the only life they have.

So philosophy is a waste of time? I think if it makes that person whole and complete in a sense, then its not a waste as long as their happy = ]

Happiness is also relative. What does it do to the world if you die feeling all warm and fuzzy? I suppose this brings us back to the question "what is the meaning of life." After all, why are we born into this world? Why do we work so hard to prolong the life of our species. Why do we bring children into a world full of pain?

Because it naturally happens thats life, and there is nothing we can do about it.... razz And as for benefiting mankind, well for obvious reasons that can be counter claimed because it's through their eyes not the worlds... Think about hitler who as you say wanted to change the world,to better it or einstein who made the A-Bomb ....They dedicated their lives to mankind and by the end they regretted ever doing so. Though i would say i think each had their own view of what was right for mankind,..= ]
