Her steps made a crisp crunch as she stepped out into the biting cold of the winter air. Her eyes scanned around her surroundings. Taking a deep breath, she let it out slowly and smiled inwardly as she ventured out further from her warm hiding spot. New to the area she's been a bit shy at first and so hid in some underbrush that she found to be rather warm after awhile. After a while of walking, she came to a frozen over stream. lowering her head, she sniffed at the ice some before pawing at it to break a hole and get something to drink.

Cold, it was the bane of her existence.
The much larger than normal mare was not happy about the cold, snow or anything else. it often meant less food for her, as well as her feeling lethargic because of her kalona blood.
She snorted, a large puff of heated breath floated in before her as she wiggled in place to try and keep warm, her ears picking up the noise of a rather tentative creature getting a drink from the frozen spring. She snorted, so few creatures worth while were out when it was cold. She peeked around a tree to see what was drinking and saw a mare with a ridiculously long white mane, and roses in her hair...and tail...Why the hell... She stood there narrow-eyed and contemplating whether or not to intrude on the creature, or pass it by.

Finally breaking through the ice she bent her head back down and began to drink. Her ears gave a small twitch as she listened intently for any would be predators. Having her fill of water, she looked up and around to decide on what to do or where to go next. She didn't seem to notice the other mare off in the distance or if she did she didn't seem to care because she headed on by the mare without even giving a second glance. As a soft breeze began to pick up, she gave a small shudder and stopped n her spot, debating returning to the brush she'd spent the night in.

Eviotil rolled her eyes, "She's either a snob, or has no survival instincts." She ignored the mare, it was a better option, the last mare she'd gotten involved with had made it very clear that she needed to keep her distance from stupid ones that never noticed her at all.
Her eyes narrowed as she caught site of a rabbit who had made it's way up from a burrow. She grinned and slowly began to creep up on it, keeping her steps light and airy she would sneak up and have a fresh meal.

Looking around and actually taking things in more clearly, she finally noticed the other mare and made her way rather loudly to the other mare. Snow crunched under her hooves as she walked, and puffs of steam came from her breath. "Hello" She managed a cheerful look though she was now slightly shivering."I hope I'm not bothering you.. but I seem to have gotten just a bit turned around." It had dawned on her that when she'd hidden she'd forgotten how to get back to her two legger. The girl had been nice enough but the area was strange and cold which had her spooked.

The rabbit scampered away at the noise of the loud female approaching. Eviotil cursed. She had just managed to find a meal and now this denser than dirt female had stuck her nose where it didn't belong.
Taking it as a sign that she needed to be patient, "Lost your way. Alright, what direction do you remember coming from?" Eviotil turned to the smaller mail and used her tail to point, "Was it from up stream or down stream?" She was too cold to be menacing, and this one seemed to ditzy to even bother trying to intimidate and play with.

"Um.... truthfully I don't really remember.." She looked rather sheepish. it was bad enough that she was lost in a new area but now she couldn't even remember what direction she had come from last night. "It was dark when I came looking for a way to get away from the camp of the two legger. The stream was just a ways from where I had slept last night...."

"Two legger...Oh, the mushy pale skinned things. So you want to get away from it or head back to the camp?" Eviotil plotted where she could go in order to get a bit farther from the two leggers as most of the Soquili referred to them, she knew of one, but it was a crazy female that most didn't care for, much like herself.
"Because given the smell from that direction, there's a fire built by a camp of them." She tried to smile, it was more of a half hearted smirk since her face was frigid.

Her ears perked some. "Not really so sure. The two legger was nice enough but.. I think I'd like to spend some more time getting to know my new surroundings.." She thoughts for a long moment before looking around and once more at the other mare. "You think you could show me around some?" she looked rather hopeful. "Oh forgive me my rudeness.. I forgot to tell you my name...I'm Shoshana." She smiled politely.

Eviotil cringed, she was cold, and now the dense little mare was trying to be friendly. Good god not another one.
"I suppose I can show you around, but aren't you in the least bit frightened of me?" She gestured to her spines and sharp points, "I'm Eviotil ver Spitfire, A Kalona." She silently hoped something of what she said would percolate through the mare's seemingly thick skull and send her in a panicked run into the woods.

Shoshana shook her head some. "Just because you're a kalona doesn't make you completely and utterly horrible and frightening. There's some good in everything around us we just have to look hard enough to find it. I'm pleased to meet you though." She shivered just a bit more. "Which direction should we head in first?" She might seem rather thick to most but she liked to think that there were redeeming qualities in all things that were normally given a bad reputation. She saw them more as misunderstood than evil really, at least she liked to think they were just misunderstood.

Eviotil could not believe her ears. What was with her ability to find these twits that thought there was good in all creatures? Was there any other Kalona who found anything like that? I mean sure she could disillusion the thing if she worked really hard at it...but it was cold and it just...
One could see the gears in her head turning to fast and a look of utter defeat passed over the larger mare's facial features. Well it wouldn't be the first time she'd gotten into it with a stupid mare, this time she was going to avoid her nose getting involved.
"We'll head up river a little, there's a wider part of the stream that doesn't freeze over where it's easier to get a drink, there's also so grass that you can snack on if you're hungry." since you chased off my dinner. She sighed and headed up, waiting to hear the footsteps of the other behind her.

A small grin appeared on her face at the mention of grass. "Sure beats snacking on bark..." she followed after the larger mare without hesitation. As she walked, she looked around familiarizing herself with the locations of things so she could remember them later on. New places were some times a bit sketchy for her to get use to but when she did she knew she'd be fine.

Eviotil snorted hearing the mare's footsteps, "I wouldn't know, I'm a carnivore." She could only hope the dense twit knew what the hell she meant. If the mare didn't, well then, maybe she'd show her and that would get rid of the nit wit.
Coming up the the larger bend she nodded towards the bits of green that peeked out from the snow covered ground, "It got just warm enough that they popped up a few days ago. They might be a little frost bitten and soggy, but it should serve as a decent snack." moving to the bend she leaned down her head and sipped a few of her feathers floating gently to the ground, melting the snow and burning the ground beneath it before disappearing.

She seemed to shrug off the fact that the other mare ate meat and happily trotted over to nibble on the new blades of grass. Looking up and swallowing what she had in her mouth and looked over to her left some and spotted a bunny cautiously peeking out from under a bush. "Well, if you're careful enough there's a rabbit under that bush over there." With a small smile she went back to munching on the grass.
