Kamiko had been on a trip for several months, and she had missed a lot--most of it not terribly important. But she had missed out on one very important event, and Eli knew that she'd kill him (or, you know, be terribly disappointed, either way) if he didn't show her soon after she came back to Hytech.
He'd been cryptic when calling her, just asking her to come over to Hytech and not giving much of a reason. He was already there himself, having had to ascertain the guest of honor was there already. He was pretty sure Wayne thought he was insane, but...he figured Kamiko's reaction would be worth it.
"I know I probably seem really crazy, but...uh, thanks for sticking around anyway," the kuppy said, half apologizing to the bat teen.

Wayne had given poor Eli several odd looks while they waited for... Whomever they were waiting for. The magic... 'Kuppy', was it? The Magical Kuppy boy was rather odd, but seemed to be largely harmless. While Wayne didn't particularly enjoy magic, he couldn't dislike him simply because he used it. So far, Eli hadn't hugged him or called him cute. That made him all right. At least for now.
"Everyone is crazy around here." The Bat grumbled, crossing his arms and hunching up his shoulders. His wings were starting to get long enough that they could hide part of his person, and he rather enjoyed that. "You've actually acted almost normal. It's almost refreshing."
Wayne tried to have social skills. He did. He just... Really didn't see the point sometimes.

Kamiko hummed softly to herself as she walked to the main building. She had gotten a call from her best friend and fellow do-gooder Eli. She smiled a bit to herself as she thought of him and their battles in the past. She had missed him so but his message seemed so cryptic. Had she missed something important? Surely they would have sent word to her if she was needed. She pushed the door opened.
"Hello? Eli-san? Mena-sama? Is anyone here?"
At her side was also a new face, her dear little ward Krypto. He had been given to her as a gift and she adored the little deer. He had become her constant companion and, consequently, her sidekick. He rolled a snowball around in his hooves and looked up to her, "M-m-maybe they got bored and l-l-left?"
"I don't think so, Eli's not the type to leave without a note."

"Uh...thanks," Eli said, with a self conscious shrug. He wasn't used to be called the normal one. He had to admit Wayne had a point, though...everyone was crazy around here.
"Aah, Kamiko-chan, over here!" Eli said, standing and waving the shiba inu over from the door. "There was someone I wanted you to meet. This is Wayne. Wayne, this is my friend Kamiko. She's a super hero." It seemed a little silly, stating it like that, but that was how it was, wasn't it? "Kamiko's been gone for awhile, but I thought you two would have a lot in common~"

Wayne's narrowed slightly when the girl entered with her Lyte. He stayed quiet until there was an introduction, though one of his brows raised at the designation of the girl. Super Hero? What had she done to warrant such a title? He was curious.
"It's a pleasure to meet you." Wayne said gravely, extending a hand towards the young woman. "As Eli said, I'm Wayne."

Kamiko smiled brightly as Eli called to her. She walked over and gave him a big hug. "Oh I missed you Eli! I have missed so much!"
She looked to the teen that Eli was introducing her to. He seemed to be a bat from the looks of him. Oh how interesting! She giggled a bit but stood proudly in her tank top and shorts. She reached out to shake his hand with an obviously strong grip. This girl worked out. "Ah yes, I am Kamiko! I fight crime and thwart the villians of the city! Lately I've been out of town training in another city but I am back to protect the citizens again! And I have help!"
She motioned for the small deer boy to approach, which he did hesitantly. He waved a hoof while Kamiko made the introductions, "This is Krypto, my sidekick! He can magically made snowballs and throw them at people!" Finally something registered in her brain, "Wait. Your name is Wayne? And you are a bat?"
....
....
....
"Oh my gosh that's so awesome!! Just like Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman! Oh Wayne do you wish to fight crime and keep the streets safe from villians?" she looked kinda sparkle-eyed at him but kept her distance. After all the real batman (if he was real) was kinda grumpy and didn't like being touched so she would hold back from hugs for now.

A faint blush spread across the kuppy's face as he returned the hug, and somewhere in the back of his mind he was bemused to see that not even the winter could keep Kamiko from her usual tank top and shorts. And he grinned as Kamiko 'got it', though was surprised the shiba inu didn't leap upon Wayne--it wouldn't have ended well, but it was rare to see Kamiko exercise restraint with this kind of thing.
Wayne was as solemn as ever, it seemed, but maybe given another Hyte (or two, Eli supposed, if one counted mahou-ko as roughly equivalent to super heroes, which he personally did) with a similar disposition towards justice and the like, maybe the bat would open up a little.

Indeed, Wayne was like his namesake in some ways. His personal bubble was huge.
"That is my plan, Miss Kamiko." Wayne said seriously. "Though, right now I'd be more of a liability rather than an asset. I have to train myself. One is not born trained." He was still a teenager, still not good enough to fight crime.
"Yes, like the Wayne." Wayne mentioned with a slight eye roll. "With my eyes and species, I was named as such because, as I was told, 'I would get to grow up to be Batman.'"

"Fabulous! A whole team of crime fighting heros!" she clapped happily. It was like a dream come true for the Shiba Inu. She had dreams, mostly as a pup, of being in a super hero league like in the comic books she always read. She looked like a kid in a candy store now.
She nodded sagely to him as he spoke of training, "Ah yes. Training is very important and never ending. Always must practice. If you like I can train you in martial arts and such. But only if you feel it would help. Every hero has their own unique way."
Kamiko then smiled somewhat warmly, "Well if you do not wish to be The Batman then you shouldn't be. I think you should be the kind of hero you think will be best for you. After all Krypto said he just wanted to aid me, not be a hero out in front."
Krypto nodded to the bat and took a seat on the floor as he built a small snowman out of his magic snowballs. "Y-y-yeah. I just wanted t-t-to be helpful"

"I was pretty much raised from birth to be a 'magical boy'," Eli offered, lacing his fingers behind him. "Mahou-ko don't pick their designated names; 'Knight Camellia' is not necessarily what I would have chosen myself...but the senshi titles have more to do with tradition and ritual than one's preference. Whether you choose to take the name with tradition behind it or to forge your own path, I'm sure you will be successful~"
"I also have some skill in hand-to-hand combat, if you would like the practice," Eli said, with a shrug. "And my sister keeps asking me to help her train so she'll have experience against magic using opponents, so I can certainly extend the same offer if you'd like. For you as well, Kamiko-chan." Kamiko especially needed to train against magic users--she'd done well, very well, against the advance guard of the Praetorate, but facing a Contractor wasn't something she did every day.
