Look at the right side of the Library page, nearly ALL of them have "The Red Sorcerer" on it. I thought this was an active guild! ><

The Library is more or less for reference purposes. In other words, you may not see a lot of people posting, but that doesn't mean that it's not being used.

It comes down to the fact that classes take time (and like real life usually require a good bit of work). Not sure if it's because a lot of people don't take it seriously because it's on Gaia or what, but usually one of two things happen - you have a teacher who puts lots of energy into creating a great class... but for whatever reason the people who signed up for it, never post or do any of the work. Which causes the teacher to quit posting, because why should they do all this work for nothing. Or you have students who are really interested in a particular class, only to have the teacher stop posting.
It's a matter of commitment on both sides, one that isn't always taken very seriously. Every once in a while you get a class that goes the distance, but it's kind of rare. It's not just this guild either, almost any guild that has classes seems to have the same problem.
At this point though I think they've gone to a different system in the Academy (more of a 1 on 1 mentoring type thing), which is why there aren't as many posts.

We do have a mentoring scheme, but we still have classes.
You basically hit the nail on the head with summing up why classes are often times so unsuccessful. It's a shame really. I also think that there are a lot of people who could be teachers, and know enough to be good teachers, that we could have more classes. With more classes I feel that people will respect the academy more, and by that, post more. But that is just my hypothesis. Unfortunately, we will probably never have the attendance necessary to prove or disprove it.
