Wish I could help, but I think animals are my biggest weak point. I don't have a cat anymore, but I was at my dad's house on Christmas Eve and he does have cats... One thing I noticed is that they seem to have a pear-like shape on a top view.

I know one huge problem I've had with animals is that I often draw them pretty straight/flat. Keep in mind that the cat has this sort of shape and that should help with other angles, too.
Though that isn't really what you were asking for. I guess one relevant tip regards the nose... At least I think that's the nose, not just some spot. Anyhow, the noses should just be around the surface of their "snout", not riding up it. If you remember Lion King 2 or something, I think two lions pressed their noses together and it made a heart-like shape... So basically put a half heart shape at the end of their "snout". You can make it a bit more triangular than a heart, though. The top of the nose should be pretty flat, not bumpy like a heart, and a real cat's nose kinda caves in from the "heart shape" like so...
