Chumani was out and about the pack again doing his rounds. Okay so he wasn't a guard, yet, but he had his eye on the prize and was getting started on his 'duties' early. On he marched like he was already a full fledged guard. Each paw step was carefully placed as he went on as if he was part of a very strict army.
But then a toad hopped in his path and the pup soon forgot what he was doing. Chumani chased the toad all about squealing with laughter as he went.
He was still a pup after all.
"Im gonna get you invader!" He shouted after the frantic toad.

Lugia was for once was away from his pack. Away from everyone else. While it wasn't unusual for him to be on his own, he was normally attached to the hip to his twin brother.
No, today he was testing his powers. The powers he knew were so dangerous. Stepping toward the water he inhaled deeply, eyes focused on the water head of him. He could control it. He knew it. He felt it. His father could purify water so what could he do?
He lowered his head, moving forward. A deep hum in his throat as he the water lapped against his paws.
A few minutes later a startled, screaming yelp echoed across the land.

Chumani had almost had the invader. Almost. That was until a few frantic yelps had come into ear shot. The 'guard' lifted his head and rushed toward the sound.
It got louder and louder as he carried on. What could be yelping? He really hoped it was a pretty lady in distress. The voice got more and more boy like though as he got closer. Damn.
"I'm coming!" He cried as he ran. "Don't worry humble citizen! I'm coming!"

The yelps did continue, sounding terrified and pained. When his brother was finally close enough to see the trouble. And it was serious danger.
It was his brother and was pushed into a grove of tree roots but it was hardly stopping the large crocadile thrashing his way through. The sudden voice made the animal give pause and look up, tilting a reptilian eye up. It opened its jaws snapping down with a warning.
Lugia looked up digging and trying to force his way up the bank to get away. His leg was cut, rather deeply. "Daddy! Daddy!" He shouted, yelping and crying.

Chumani looked from the croc to his brother. Time seemed to freeze for a moment. The wild dog had heard tales about these scale belled yellowed eyed razor toothed terrors but he never thought hed see one.
His brows lowered. Chumani let out a war cry of a howl and charged toward the water.
"GET AWAY FROM MY BROTHER!" He splashed about on the shallow end of the pull trying to get the creatures attention. It seemed he'd also gotten other yellowed eyed creatures attentions.
The water was moving toward him.

Lugia jerked his head up at the voice and looked over, maw open. "Chumani...? CHUMANI! Move!" He shouted still trying to get up the steep muddy embankment.
The croc who'd been so focused on Lugia was tired of trying to break through the roots and hissed to go after the new meat.
Lugia finally got purchase on the bank and pulled himself up, grasping at the grass and pulling himself out. "Move!"
Back in the pack, Adeto's ears lifted as he realized two of his sons were missing. But that's hardly what caught his attention. There was screaming. His eyes widened and he pushed himself off the ground, dashing toward the river. "Chumani?! Lugia!" He shouted as he bolted toward the noise.

Chumani who had no fear earlier was feeling the cold breath of death down his back. Those yellow eyes were all focused on him and moving in fast. The pup wasn't sure what to do.
He heard the word "MOVE" but for some reason his legs weren't responding. He was frozen with fear. The crocs were getting closer and closer now. Chumani finally found him self and started back for the shore.
His legs felt like jello though.

"CHUMANI!" The yell broke through the trees but it wasn't Lugia. The older male snatched his son up by the scruff and jerked him out of the way of the large gaping jaws. He tossed his son onto the shore, he bristled snarling at them and giving them a warning while backing up to protect his two sons.
Lugia limped to Chumani sniffing him and making sure was alright. "Chmani...?" He asked then glanced to the dangerous form of his father.

Chumani laid their looking up at his brother. Things still seemed very surreal and odd. He could hear snarling and his brothers voice but the two seemed to merge together. The pup wasn't sure what was going on anymore.
"Huh?" He blinked , things slowly started to make sense again. "Lugia.. you're safe."

LLugia curled up beside his older brother. He leg hurt really badly from where the crocodile had first pulled him out into the water. He was glad when he started to talk and the distant wild dog for the first time, nuzzled up to one of his siblings. "Thank you, Chani... I was ... really scared."
Adeto snorted as he sent the crocodiles moving away. Their easy meal was gone and while they could easily take the wild dog, something told them it was more trouble then it was worth.
He growled at them one more time before returning to sniff at his children. He sniffed at them and gave Lugia's leg a lick before nuzzling Chmani's head. "Are you two alright...? What were you doing near the water? You know better!"

Chumani licked at his younger brothers wounds. He was glad he had been there to help.
The moment of peace was broken by their fathers concerned voice. s**t, they were gonna get it now. Chumani felt his head lower some.
"It was my fault dad," He sighed, "I wanted to show Lugia how brave I was. I wanted to show him I had what it took to scare a croc... but .." He sniffled some , "there were so many.."

Lugia closed his eyes, wincing at the licks. His leg hurt badly. He put his ears back then lifted them again, staring at his brother. "NO! No he didn't, dad! I was trying to practice my powers and the croc got me! He came to help!" Sounding upset.
The larger form of the adult loomed over the two of them as Adeto narrowed his eyes. Lugia was never known to make up stories. He was quiet and reserved, hardly ever passionate about anything.
On the other hand, Chumani was a wild adventurer. It wasn't too far fetched to think he might challenge a crocodile. Either way, it wasn't good for either of them. But at least they were trying to protect each other.
"You're both grounded to the den until I sort this out. Chmani can you walk?" He asked picking up Lugia by the scruff and lifting him off the ground. "We need to hurry to the den before they come back."

Chumani was fine he hadn't gotten pulled in by the crocs. He had gotten luck that their father had come just in the nick of time. Other wise Chumani might not be standing here.
The pup nodded, "I can walk." His voice was quieted and humbled by what had just happened. He was shook, he was so terribly shook.
The white and blue wild dog followed after his father and brother. Chumani didn't spare a glance back. He wouldn't be going near water for a while. Not after that.

Their father growled slightly and began the trek back to their den. "Relax... They're gone and they won't get you." It wasn't made clear which of his puppies he was ensuring but it was probably both. He sighed through his nose and made sure they weren't being followed.
He moved into the den and laid Lugia down gently on grass in the den. He nuzzled him and backed up before glancing at Chumani. "... Keep an eye on him. I need to find your mother..."

Chumani nodded and hurried to his brothers side. The crocs were gone but now they were in trouble. It was worth it though, Lugia was safe.
"You feeling okay?" He whispered to his brother. His eyes never left Lugias leg.
