 __________
Kumokagure specializes in making sword. Many of the greatest sword-smith were produced by Kumo and as a result, their methods and procedures were passed down in oral tradition from mentor to student. As a result of the avalanche, many great black-smiths were lost.
However.
Some survived and carry the proud tradition with their chins high. The Armory of Kumokagure flourishes, making and selling weapons not only to it's people, but manages to produce enough to export and earn the village income.
The Armory is situated near the highest part of the massive cave, keeping the black-smith cool during the 24/7 work. It can be reached from the resident housing.

Xoren looked down from the entrance to the master swordsmith's cave where the swords and various weaponry of Kumogakure were made and distributed.
From the high point he was on, Xoren could see the whole village bustling with animation. Below him, many of the small village's inhabitants were in their own residential cave. Although most of them were small and could only take in one or two people at a time, nobody complained, because they knew it was a miracle to be alive at all.
Looking on, he could see the amazingly bright crystalline towers that now represented the new Kumogakure, and he saw the hospital, the ninja academy, and almost every part of Kumogakure, except the under area of course, directly below him, and Xoren felt perfect. He was in a place and position filled with oppurtunity, where, in a few years, he could be one of the village's great ninja.
Taking his attention away from the bottom of Kumogakure and his daydreaming, he turned more to the area directly in front of him. Straight across was the Raikage's office, where the most important village officials were most likely meeting as he was staring to decide the fate of the village.
He was about to turn back into the armory and look at the fine weaponry that he would soon be buying and using, but he saw a male boy, around his height, but a little chubbier, sitting on the entrance bridge, gazing out along the village and seemingly spacing out, just as Xoren was now. Intrigued, he carefully started the walk down towards the bridge to introduce himself to this new, unmet ninja.

Hitomi walked silently shortly behind the Raikage. Every so often she would wave to some of her fellow villagers but she rarely spoke along the way. Raiden in the office had semed quite excited about the idea of his own sword, or hammer as she had heard him say. The second he said hammer she thought of how it was such a bad idea, having to keep herself from laughing at the image she got from him using one. One of the reasons she was so silent was due to the fact she was too busy wondering what kind of blade the Kumo's greatest of smiths would make for her. What ever he choose to make she trusted his decision, after all he was the best they had and many spoke highly of him.
Entering the armory Hitomi smiled in greeting at the man who when hearing them enter lefted his head up to see who it was. She stayed silent letting the Raikage explain the situation.

Along the way to the armory many people called out his name or gave him a menacing look. A lot of people liked Raiden and just as many didn't appreciate having him around their home. He was known to break things or mess up a tidy house through his high energy antics. As Raiden walked he talked the Hokage about his father's sword. "hmm, I don't think olzai did. Do you see the kanji on the blade? I think my grandfather made it as a wedding gift to go with his daughter to the old Kumo." It was a strange sword since it bore the symbol for hyouton but it was made for a ranton user.
When they walked inside the armory Raiden immediately started looking around at all of the weapons and armor on display. They were all so cool and Raiden hoped that one of them was for him, he really wanted a sword or scythe, or anything really. "Hey, these are all amazing! When can I get one?!"

The Raikage walked in slowly, looking at Olzai as the large, gruff man beat away at a sword on the anvil. It was hot in the room, with the furnace roaring as wildly as it could. This was the reason that many kids liked to spend time near the armory, during the winter, it was a great heater. Satsuki leaned on his katana, "Olzai, how are you."
The large man suddenly looked, his jaw hanging a bit. He seemed surprised, clearly, he'd been distracted by his forging. With surprise came a smile as the large man put down the burning metal and rubbed his darkened hands against his torn pants. "Raikage-sama. It's a pleasure... please sit down.", Olzai panted, sighing heavily as he heaved a large metal ore off a stone chair.
Juugodaime returned the smile and sat down, resting his chin on the edge of his katana. His teal and jade eyes glimmered in contrast to the fire's orange as he eyed Hitomi and Raiden. "I've brought these two here today... to receive their blades.", started the man, glancing to Olzai. "Have you made any progress on them?"
Olzai quickly clapped in reply, and looked around. He laughed heavily, walking past the two gennin. "Ya, Ya. I looked over Raiden's repoats, he's a, he's a strong boy. Chuunin say he's focused, smart, tries to be nace and fit in. I been spendin' time on an Uchigatana to fit right his size..."
Olzai walked towards a rack, reaching up towards a sword with a pure black scabbard. It was very long, nearly five or so feet. Uchigatana were used by ninja who were extremely fit, and mastered offensive combat. The sword's sheer length made it slow to slash, but quick-minded users often made use of the range, not needing to slash constantly. The large man lazily pulled the blade from a scabbard. It was pure black, with the blacksmith's initials in it.
Suddenly, and without notice, he slashed at the air, looking at it. He slashed again vertically, grasping it with his second hand. The master of kenjutsu moved the blade as if it was a blade of grass, and weighed like nothing.
Satsuki simply smiled and tilted his head. "Raiden fits a uchigatana... really?"
The blacksmith eyed the kage with humor, raising a brow. "Dun trust my judgement?", he replied with a snicker. He threw the heavy blade to Raiden, forgetting that he was about three times the size of the poor gennin.
Without seeing if he even caught it, the man moved to Hitomi. "Youa.. different.", he sighed. "Fubuki have had lotsa troubles conveyating theya styles to kenjutsu from taijutsu."

Hitomi's eyes did the same thing as Raiden's observe the various weapons on the wall the only difference was she didn't do it so energetically. I wonder what kind of weapon Olzai made for him, she couldn't help but think to herself. I wonder what he'll make for me.... She had her doubts on if he would be could enough to make something for her which she could still use her Fubuki techniques. The transition was quite complicated, her father had been trying to figure out a way of converting their taijutsu to kenjutsu for years but with the avelanche incident it had to be put on hold.
Her thoughts shattered when the blacksmith brought out Raiden's sword, the work was like art. She couldn't help but awe at the black blade, it was beautiful and teh way the fire's light reflected off of it only inhanced such beauty. Noticing him literally toss it to Raiden she opened her mouth to speak giving warning to Raiden but quickly closed it again when Olzai quickly shifted his attention onto her.
"Yes we do," Hitomi replied calmly. "My fathers tried working on it for years but hasn't finished. It may be hard but its not impossible, I'm sure we'll find a way soon."

Raiden gazed at the sword the Olzai had removed from the wall. The pure black blade gave off it's own sort of strange glow as it reflected light from the forge fire. Olzai was right about it being hard to swing, as Raiden knew first hand from his father's sword. How ever a thinner katana like blade could be used for repeated stabbing motions, or the scabbard could be used to knock cats out of trees. Raiden barely had to time to think between the time he noticed that Olzai had thrown the sword and the point at which he would miss the catch. Raiden quickly through out his hands and caught the sword. It was quite heavy and as Olzai had said, nearly as long as Raiden was tall. Raiden hugged the sword to his chest like it was a precious person,"I can't wait to try you out, Uchi!" he said excitedly.
Barely paying attention to Olzai's conversation with Hitomi Raiden said "Have you tried something small? like a sai?"

((( Ahhhh! Tairu! Sorry, you are holding a nodachi, not an uchigatana. Nodachi is longer, uchigatana is just a katana meant for horseback riding. xD)))
Satsuki's heterochromic eyes slowly surveyed the kid's reactions as they watched the large blacksmith hand Raiden his sword. It was quite beautiful. It was always clear that it was Olzai's work. He took hours upon hours working his best to make these swords. If it wasn't his natural commitment to his creed that made his swords so desirable, it was his sheer obsession with the perfections of blades. Although it didn't show in his mannerisms, the man loved what he did.
Olzai then looked to the pretty Hitomi, he raised a brow, and placed his hands on his hips. "It cannot be done agaiinnah.", he finished with a large sigh. "Any sai is not equal to that swoad your fatha helped me forge.", he started, almost frustrated.
"Olzai, what are you saying?", Juugodaime said, his eyes closing in a tired manner.
"Fubuki has been trying to perfect kenjutsu with their clan's techniques, which requires special swords. They lake to use two, but I only have one. The otha, I'm afraid, is in the avalanche.", he stopped, walking to a corner. It was rolled in an old cloth. The sword had a rather angelic and serene look to it. "I spent too long on em, and had to go around askin' from help with all soats of expaats. Looks like an angel spat on it.", he laughed.
The large man walked over to the girl, and unsheathed the perfectly crafted blade. The sword was very smooth in all aspects, covered in jewels and the scabbard was laced with silk. The end of the hilt had various trinkets tied to it, which were symbols of each of the blacksmiths that helped forge it. "I got everyone I know to work on it, hopefully it'll help with your ice kenjutsu."
He let Hitomi hold the short-sword. "It's meant to be dual wielded.", Olzai trailed off, a bit disappointment. He eyed Satsuki then.
Satsuki looked at the blade and smiled widely. "It looks about as angelic as mine does demonic.", joked the kage, looking down at his katana. The Yagura was the sword of the demons, with a blade that gave of a dark, rich climson glint. The kage had found it in the ruins of the keepers. Satsuki slowly glanced up, and caught the blacksmith's eye. "I know, I caught the stare Olzai. I'll take her to the sight."

Hitomi listened in quietly as the two adults spoke. Olzai had already made her a sword, no he had made her two but the other one was lost in the avalanche, pity, but that got her thinking. ”…mmm I wonder…” she mumbled to herself, everyone in the room was probably too busy to bother hearing what she was muttering under her breath. Noticing the blacksmith reach for the blade he had for her she pushed her thoughts to the back of her mind and began to pay better attention. When she saw the sword she couldn’t help but stare at its beauty. How could such a thing be used for a weapon? Slowly she extended her hands and grabbed it, feeling its weight, surprisingly it didn’t seem to be as heavy as she thought. It was quite light. She couldn’t help but smile a little as she thought how must look like a twig compared to Raiden’s.
Hearing the Raikage’s comment she smiled but stayed silent as he continued speaking. ”Sight? What sight?”

The Raikage turned his attention toward Hitomi, his eyes moving to her. He sat ever so still in his sit, his hands still gripping his katana while his chin rested against the tip of the hilt. "The sight of the avalanche dear.", he replied in his usual patient and serene tone. With that, he slowly moved to his feet, leaning on his sword as a cane. "Don't worry, I think the only danger there would be the cold..", the leader continued with a bit of a smile.
He walked closer to the group, finally noting Yokori's presence as he bowed to him. "What a great time to come my dear Nara.", he stopped, bowing his head. "I do believe you'll be the final addition to this team..."
It was true. Yokori was one of the top candidates for the team consisting of Hitomi and Raiden. Seeing the Nara only reminded the Juugodaime of the support abilities a Nara could posses. Satsuki slowly glanced to the blacksmith, "Although I'm sure he's here for his sword, Olzai."
Olzai glanced back at the Raikage, looking over the scroll. "Oh.. Yokori. Your uncle lef you summin here... this katana is a work of art.", he smiled widely as he walked to the rack, reaching up to grab a katana wrapped in old black cloth. He handed the katana to Yokori. "He wanted me to keep it till you graduated."
With that, Satsuki slowly turned and started walking away. "I'm sorry if I seem a bit rushed, however I have a few matters I must attend to soon, so let us move to the sight quickly."

(( warning posting at 2 am >.> ))
"Ah yes that sight," Hitomi muttered when the raikage answered her question. "We'll just have to go and find it then." Turning to Olzai she spoke to him respectfully. "The blade is beautiful I can only imagine what the other one looks like." Smiling she decided to play around with him a bit. "I do hope you at least made it could enough to last being burried by snow for years." She was teasing of course. Hitomi knew that he was more then capable of making a blade with that sort of durability.
Turning to Yokori she simply smiled in greating and waited for things to get a move on.

From the door, making sure he couldn't be see, Akati watched the new genin, like himself, receive their swords from the Raikage. He saw they all were unique, he liked that. I wonder if there is one for me. But he just stayed, and kept on watching. He didn't think a sword would suit him much after a few minutes, he knew he would be better off with a very long stick. He was not going in, he thought he would just sneak away now. Don't need a sword! Why stick around spying?

As the other's talked Raiden only half listened as he unsheathed his new sword which he had dubbed Noda-chi which while it is indeed just the spelling of the sword type with a hyphen inserted in it Raiden found it amusing. Essentially he was calling his sword Noda with the fake honorific chi. Raiden was admiring the length of the smooth black blade which would be excellent for keeping his opponents at a range. There was one thing that he dieing to know though; could this sword channel ranton chakra through the blade? Raiden still couldn't actually perform any ranton jutsu but that was a small detail that hardly mattered to a fourteen year old. It was during his deep fascination with the shiny new blade that Raiden saw the reflection of someone new shimmering on the blades surface.
"Hey, you with the purple! Why are you spying on us?" said in a raised voice that some might of said was yelling while others projecting.
