Kafele was getting healither as time passed. Soon with his new charge's help he was able to travel. As soon as they were ready he nudged her from the hidden waterfall and out toward the world. True, neither of them had ever strayed from their prides before but he had faith they could easily make it in the savanah.
He glanced down at Akea everyone in a while to ensure she was following as he made his way stiffly across the plains. He was enjoying her company, a lot more then he had with any female. He gave her a warm smile as they crossed the short grasses.
He paused scenting the air after their third day of travel. He sensed something. Another pride's boarders. "...Wait." He whispered down to her, "Stay low to the ground. I think we're in another's territory. Let me find out if they're friendly."

Her violet eyes scanned the areas they'd walked. She'd never seen anything outside of her own pride, so this was both new and exciting. Aekea wasn't exactly sure where they were going or when they'd be getting there. She did know, however, that Kafele wanted to round up more for his small pride. She'd ask questions, he would answer, and most of the time she was to excited or nervous to sleep at night.
It was wearing on her, and it showed. Aekea let out a big yawn when he spoke, so she nearly missed it. However, she crouched low because of he face he had on. Something wasn't right. Sniffing the air, she smelled others, which wasn't unusual, but something about this territory made her uncomfortable. She would stay quiet and still, watching Kaf's every move.

Hitilafu was exhausted. Physically. Mentally. She had nothing left in her, or so it felt. She had no idea where she was or what she was doing, and it scared her in a way that she had never felt before. Running away from home had been the biggest decision she had ever been allowed to make, or not allowed as it were, but she had done it anyway. And now here she was, free of her father.
Essentially lost in a world she knew nothing about. He took care of her. She couldn't even hunt for herself very well, getting lucky so far in picking off a weakened animal. But she was starving, since that had been a few days ago now.
She had to sit down. Lay down. Take a nap, maybe. Something. She was too tired to keep wandering, though she was worried he might be following after her. She groaned and stretched out on the floor, covering her face with her tired paws.
If she was near a pride, or if there were others around her, she was oblivious to them.

The old man made his way forward after he was sure the young lioness was staying put. He gazed over his shoulder once or twice to ensure he could still see her. Once he was sure he'd be able see anything coming after he he relaxed enough to scent the area.
It didn't take him long to find yet another female. This one looked injured or sick considering how skinny she was. His initial instinct was to avoid her as he'd seen his fair share of illness in his pride to know how quickly it spread. Sniffing from a distance he didn't smell anything wrong. No blood, no impending death, or sickness.
He crept closer then nudged her with his paw. "... Excuse me, child?"

Hitilafu tensed, curling into herself when she felt a paw nudging her. She looked up from under her paws to see him, a lion she had never seen before, over her. Not that she had met many lions before, outside of her father, Nukta and Dunia. And that one when she was a cub, the one who had made her feel cold but had been nice. She couldn't remember him too well, though, since she had been so small.
Shaking her head, she tried to get to her feet, but she wobbled.
"I-I'm sorry," she said, keeping her head down as she whimpered, "I didn't know anyone was living here... I-I can keep walking. I'm sorry." She hated causing trouble, and just wanted to find a place to sleep and be okay. She was trembling, from fear and from exhaustion, and she didn't lift her eyes to look at him again lest it be taken as some kind of threat.

Aekea stayed where she was told, watching the older male carefully. Seeing how the other seemed to be a helpless lioness, the orange and yellow female came out of hiding and came up behind Kafele. Sniffing, she smelled that the lioness was scared and nervous before she even reached the two. So, instead of walking up to the two, Aekea hung back. Let Kafele take care of this female.
But it seemed she was leaving. So forward she stepped again. "Y-you... don't hav-v-ve t-to leave.." She said softly, slowly. "W-we... we don't-t live h-here.."

"Hush, young one." He murmurs, "She's right, we don't live here. You can rest here." He gazed to Aekea and lays down beside her. "What happened? You look as though you have been running for sometime. "
He glanced up to Aekea again with meaningful eyes. "I doubt she's eaten. Would you terribly mind hunting? She's in no condition and I don't want to leave her alone. I will make it up to you, later."

Hitilafu looked toward the lioness, surprised, and she nodded. She seemed surprised to see someone closer to her own age here, though she was still nervous about the big lion. She looked at him in surprise as he settled beside her, not shrinking away from him though her instincts told her she should.
She was so tired, she really wanted some friendly faces. So she would risk it, and hope they continued to prove to be nice.
"I... I ran away from my father..." she said, looking down. She felt guilty about it, but she knew she was right. "I've been running... I don't know how long. I couldn't catch any food..."
She shook her head, putting her paws over her face. She missed her father, though she knew he was a terrible lion. He had never hurt her. But that didn't make it okay for him to hurt others. Still, she knew he would be sad, upset, that she was gone, and that made her feel bad.

Without waiting for much of an explanation, Aekea grinned at the other girl and slinked away to go get something for her to eat. The whole time, her mind was preoccupied with other things; how her family was doing, if they noticed she was gone or missing yet. Things like that. But she also thought about her future, what it would bring with Kafele and the new pride. What if she didn't fit into that pride? She'd have left home for nothing. And once you leave, you can't go back.
A frown was on her lips as she continued to wander, not paying much attention to her surroundings. She'd bring something back eventually.

The story of her running from her father made the older lion frown. That's two lions he'd met in such a short time running from their families. Was the outside world so horrid that they parents would abuse their young? How many other lost young lions were trying to escape their parental tyranny?
Shaking his head the brown lion put his ears down. "You needn't worry about all that now. He won't get you. We'll get you some food and help you get your strength back. I am Kafele, of the Tete'boma. I've set out to find those in need and take them to our pride, our safe haven. You are more then welcome to join us once you are well again." He told her, his voice soft and soothing. "I can offer you protection and food if you wish to come."

Hit looked up at the lion, nodding slowly. She felt a bit light headed, and sick. Because she was hungry, she imagined. Her trembling seemed to lessen, though, in the company of these two lions.
Or at least, the one now. The other had seemed to go somewhere else, but Hitilafu hadn't seen where.
"Thank you... Kafele..." She said, when he said they would get her some food. Now she couldn't stop thinking about eating something, her stomach grumbling angrily. She did managed to hear the rest of what he said over it, however.
"Tete'boma... I've never been in a pride but... it will be safe?" She watched him timidly, willing to trust him because she was desperate for shelter and some kind of a home.

It wasn't to much longer when Aekea returned with a baby antelope. Rabbits would have taken much to long to catch, especially for a hungry girl like this one. She walked back to the scene with the antelope in her mouth, hanging by it's neck and she dropped it in front of them.
"Eat-t up-p... We can s-s-stay here unt-til you g-get your strength b-back." She had a very, very strong sense of deja vu. She'd said that to Kafele all those days ago; when she had just left her pride.
Since Aekea wasn't hungry, she laid down with a yawn, glad for the break of walking.

The male blinked in slight surprise. Never been in a pride! Well that was what being a lion was all about! He couldn't even fathom it! He watched her noting her ill completion. Its good they happened along when they did. The poor thing! He gave her a warm smile. "The safest. There are many old and very strong lions there to protect you. No one will harm you there. I will personally make sure of it."
He glanced up when his mate-to-be arrived with the food. Yes, her hunting skills were great to get such a prize. The tender meat would surely be soft on the lioness' stomach.
"There you are my dear. Now why don't you eat that. It should at the very least make you feel more like yourself, hm?" He moved next to Akea, placing his thick body next to hers so they were just touching. "It'll help."
