Liang Mu Cheng (Ady An), a poor girl working at a school canteen to earn enough money for her college application fee, finds herself in a forced date with Ren Guang Xi (Vanness Wu) within days of starting her new job at the school. Guang Xi, the son of the school president, is a brash law student who has broken many girls' hearts and originally only agreed to date Mu Cheng out of a bet. When Guang Xi realizes that Mu Cheng is the first girl he has met to ever have a warm and kind personality instead of just outward appearances, Guang Xi falls in love with Mu Cheng, who in turn teaches Guang Xi how to love. Guang Xi and Mu Cheng share a similar past, both losing their fathers at a young age and connected by a love of piano and Bach's Air on the G String. After bravely defending Mu Cheng in a court case involving sexual harassment from Mu Cheng's stepfather, Guang Xi is diagnosed with brain cancer and undergoes surgery, losing his short-term memory in the process. As a result, he does not recognize Mu Cheng and goes on to live with He Yi Qian (Tiffany Xu), the doctor who took care of Guang Xi after his surgery. Mu Cheng is forced to leave Guang Xi and later realizes that she is pregnant with his child. Six years later, Guang Xi starts recovering his memory after hearing Bach's Air on the G String and he soon struggles to remember his love for Mu Cheng.
