I am pretty new to this site and this song came out a while ago but just in case no one posted anything about it I thought I would mention it. It is called "Can I Live' by rapper Nick Cannon. I've hear it a million times and it still gives me chills every time. I will post the lyrics and you can go to www.nickcannon.com and there is a link to the video there.

I'm talking ma
I know the situation is personal
But its something that has to be told
As I was making this beat you was all I could think about
You heard my voice

Just think just think
What if you could just blink
Just blink yourself away
Just just wait just pause for a second, let me plead my case
Its the late 70s, huh, you 17, huh
And having me that will ruin everything, huh
Its a lot of angels waiting on their wings
You see me in your sleep so you can't kill your dreams
Three hundred dollars, thats the price of living, what?
Mommy I don't like this clinic
Hopefully you make the right decision
And don't go through with the knife decision
But it hard to make the right move when you in highschool
Now you got to work all day and take night school
Hopping on the bus and the rain is pouring
What you want morning sickness or the sickness of mourning
Can I live?

CHORUS
I'll always be a part of you
Trust your soul know its always true
If I could talk I'd say to you
Can I live? Can I live?
I'll always be a part of you
Trust your soul know its always true
If I could talk I'd say to you
Can I live? Can I live?

I'm a child of the king ain't no need to go fear me
And I see those flowing tears so I know that you hear me
When I move in the your womb thats me being scary
Cause who knows what my future holds
Yo the truth be told you ain't told a soul
Yo you ain't even showing, I'm just two months old
Through your clothes try to hide me deny me
Went up 3 sizes your pride got you lying
Saying it ain't nothing but a migrain
It ain't suprising
You not trying to be in WIC food lines
Your friends would look at you funny
But look at you mommy
Thats a life inside take a look at your tummy
And what is becoming ma I'm Oprah bound
You can tell he a star from the ultrasound
Our spirits connect the doors open now
Nothing but love and respect thanks for holding it down
She let me live

CHORUS

Its uplifting for real yall
Ain't passing no judgement
Ain't making no decisions
I'm just telling yall my story
I love life
I love my mother for giving me life
We all need to appreciate life
A strong woman who had to make a sacrifice
Thanks for listening
Thanks for listening
Mama, thanks for listening

I downloaded it.

It's kind of cute.

Not my kind of song, though.

you had to mention RENT
"525600 minutes, 525000 moments so dear. 525600 minutes. How do you measure, measure a year?"

Now THAT one I need to find the lyrics to and tape myself singing it. I'll be back.

If it's not in the play, it's still in the commercial for the movie that's coming out/out (I have no idea what's playing in theators right now. sweatdrop )

It's by one of the Beatles. I don't remember which though.

Oh and the song isn't a pro-life song. It's just what happened with his mother the guy himself is actually pro-choice from what I've read.

Sounds pretty pro-life to me. Nick just doesn't want to cause a controversy or loose any fans so he claims that he isn't "pro-life' but "pro-nick." And he says the song is just simply his story, which it is, so that it can't be labled as "propaganda" or anything like that.

For the record, Cannon says he is against abortion as a means of birth control. But, "whether you're pro-life or pro-choice, when it's happening to you what people say doesn't matter. It's a personal decision."

He's pro-choice. His song was talking about his story nothing more.

Too bad I hate rap ( can't get into it or really listen to it). I hate the pro-choice song and motto, did you read both? That not pro-choice it's pro-abortion and the song prasie abortion and insults people who choose to be pro-life and their motto says "we care, we abort" one, it's pro-abortion, not choice. Doesn't even mention anything about choice and not every pro-choicer supports abort.

So he's all about not being aborted himself but everyone else can go to hell? Wow, what an a*****e.

I listened to the music video once via a girl's myspace profile...
I'm personally against rap music, but I liked this song because of how almost horrible to see. sad
Took me a few days to actually watc h the whole think all the way through ><;

I've heard that he himself is Pro-choice, Rappers usually don't care so long as they make a profit....*sigh*
...He probably just wanted to get some pro-life allies

How bout another rap song by Fr.Stan Fortuna: Unborn victims of violence

I was at the airport-
Opened up the paper-
I was shocked at what I saw-
Talk about a new law coule it be a new rule
Or was it just another fool
I had to read it again-
Thought there was somethin I was missin-
Could it be it was the truth-
Comin from a politician-
Or was it just wishful thinking what I was readin
Or was it just an attempt to stop our national bleedin
A new kinda law-
To overturn Row v Wade
To get the nation back on track-
With how we use financial aid-
All the hotsy-totsy people getting worked up in a tirade
Republicans and Democrats
Under-worked and overpaid
The next time in the court-
Death presented opposition-
The demon started screamin-
About the truth of our position-
They saw their end comin destined for the grave
Ain't this the land of the free
And the home of the brave

Thou shall not kill
But not on Capital Hill
Ya let us do it with the doctor
Or we do it with the pill
Mommies ain't safe in the streets
But if a thug come and beats
Mommy over the head
And leaves the baby for dead
Ya say it's fine but it's tragic
We can't stop it with magic
It's politically bleak
It's cause we're spiritually weak
Y'all try to cover up the scam
With illegitimate silence
Check it "I'm here to defend
Unborn victims of violence"

Let's let freedom ring-
Bring it to the Senate-
These are the dogs-
Who gonna try to prevent it-
They will never admit it-
The government's the culprit-
There is silence in the clergy-
Some won't preach it from the pulpit-
Congress is afraid to speak-
They livin like a puppet-
You gotta watch ya never know
Who got their hand on a string
We'll never really find out
What happened to Kennedy and King
Too many educated lawyers-
Could the situation worsen-
Is it really true they don't believe-
It ain't a fetus but a person-
Governmental desecration
Multi-million lives been spent
What will it take for them to learn
The right to life is self-evident
Legislation makin bad laws-
Year to year case to case-
Destroying the culture-
Poison the market place-
This is the land of the free-
This is the home of the brave-
As we movin on we steppin back we livin like a slave
Livin in denial sleepin in a grave
The embryos are frozen the suicide's assisted
You call this freedom "wake up" this is seriously twisted

I can't find any links to listen to it. Sorry but if you like the sound of his lyrics look him up and buy his cd its pretty awsome! Hes a pretty amazing guy acually; great speaker!
