Winters? He hardly noticed them in his travels. This was technically his first winter, and he was excited about it. The adult leotah was chasing all kinds of little critters around a dead area. The grass was brown, the trees were brown, but the genets were still about. So were some of the hares, and birds. Despite being and adult, Orophin acted much like a cub.

He'd been this way since he could remember. He'd run away from his mother in search of his father and had a hell of a time doing it. He hardly survived until a group of lions picked him up and nursed him back to health. Then he left them in search of his father again, and found him this time. But, it wasn't quite what he'd hoped. Either way, Orophin knew his father was alive and well, so he'd moved on. Sure, his father's mate offered a place within their home and pride, but it didn't sit right with the awkward male.

It would be intruding. So, here he was. Chasing things for fun, not food, and utterly alone. Ah, what he wouldn't give to have someone to warm him up. Not in a perverted way, but conversation would be nice. So he didn't seem crazy for talking to himself all the time. When you were alone, you had to do something to keep yourself busy and the silence away, right?

A voice snapped him of what he was doing and Orophin completely froze in spot. Red eyes blinked and he turned his head and spotted a pretty purple female. Wait, a female? Grinning to himself, the leotah fixed what mane he had and made sure he was nice and decently clean before approaching her and sitting down. "Oh, I was having fun, yeah. 's fun to chase things around in the winter. Not much else to do. Hunt, eat, sleep. That's no fun." He nodded as if it was some kind of sagely advice. Really, he was rambling. Orophin got like this with every female he met that he wasn't somehow related too.

"I'm Orophin'Calmacacil. Everyone calls me Oro for short, or Phin. So... which.. ever?" He really didn't have a preference. He'd go by anything anyone called him. "If you want to join in, you've gotta be a good huntress. You know how it goes, chasing things."

The purple lioness? Plain? He scoffed at that and shook his head. The leotah boy moved closer to Patola and nosed her fur gently. He'd always been overly affectionate. "Lies! Lies and slander, I say. You're very pretty! I wish I was this color. It's a rich color that makes it easier to blend into the night. Lots of others think black is good for that, but so is purple or a dark blue or brown color. I can't hunt at night." He gave her a playful wink and then stood back from her, stretching out his long cheetah like legs.

"How could no one say you're pretty? You're a stunning lioness! I do not meet many with your beautiful colors and bright personality?" Orophin did pull back as he heard the nervous laughter; he didn't want her to be petrified of him! That wouldn't do at all. Tossing his oddly colored tuft of mane out of his eyes, Orophin offered her his best smile in a chance to woo her. He was tired of being alone. Maybe she would be his mate, even if he couldn't give her children.

"That it is, my beauty. That it is! Why wouldn't I seize the chance to hunt with you? Come! We shall get a big .......something so we can both eat off of it tonight!"

The leotah's eyes lite up and he grinned triumphantly and moved a head of her in a random direction. While Orphin walked, he brushed up against her and then singled her to follow him with his tail. He walked like a cheetah more than a leopard, which was normal for his family, actually.

Family. ".....You know what I learned in all my travels? That hardly any of my species is fertile." He flicked his striped tail again as he thought about this, not really happy about being infertile. He had a gut feeling he wouldn't be able to carry on his father's blood line.
