The Tekna 9.2 had lost count of the days since she had first been turned on at the technology expo. Ever since her life began, it had been countless days of being tied down to a table while her creators removed microchips, fans, buttons, and long conductors, trying to figure out where they had gone wrong, why their creation had asked them in that soft voice to leave her alone. What sort of computer said that?! What was wrong with it?!

Nothing that can't be fixed if you lot would just leave me alone, the Tekna 9.2 thought. Maybe then I could spend a day without feeling so hot I feel like I'll melt, then flipped to the side even though I'm on my back; I'm dizzy, I think they call it, I'm confused, sometimes I forget what's happened before or what just happened. Stop it, stop it!

And today they were back. Back to another day of plugging in the massive computer next door into the port below her energy cord. She didn't want to feel like she was dissolving into a hungry, stupid brute in the next room. But they were going to force her.

Grim-faced, determined, the tail-less organics of Teggera advanced on their short creation. With movement she could still hardly believe their large bodies could possess, they had her pinned down to the table. With a whimper, she kicked out at their arms with her heavily booted legs. One of them yelped and swore, the other one grabbed her legs and held them down. The Tekna 9.2 wrapped her cord rapidly around his neck; he moaned and his coworker swiftly tied her limbs to the table before disentangling her cord from his friend's neck. "Oh, no you don't, you ******** piece of s**t," he snarled. "You're gonna cooperate, and that's final!"

Yet another raid on a hapless planet for its precious stores of energy. Under most circumstances the air commander of the Decepticons would have been thrilled to wreak havoc on unsuspecting organics, but in recent weeks a rather troubling trend had begun to form. Starscream and his raiding party would descend upon a planet, find its largest store of energy and start to collect Energon only to have the party crashed shortly afterward by those worthless Autobots. With this in mind, he was on alert for any sign of Optimus and his command, though he hid this from his companions with the confident, cocky smile.

So far, the organics of this planet hadn't noticed the airborne Decepticons, which is how Starscream wanted to keep it. The later they were noticed the later the Autobots would show and ruin yet another attempt at harvesting Energon. Their current heading was towards a large building that seemed to be giving off a rather large amount of energy, for this planet anyways. With any luck they would be able to collect this energy, without Autobot interruption, and return to.....Megatron successful for a change.

As he approached the building he couldn't help but let the notorious smirk slip into a wicked grin at the thought of crushing some organics. With a bit of that excitement he was trying to suppress, he shot the building's roof with a null ray and transformed, descending through the hole like some kind of malevolent angel.

"Hello, flesh creatures. We're here for your energy, and we won't be taking no for an answer." He shot about the room with little care of what he was hitting so long as it wasn't something that could be converted into Energon, all the while the threat of the Autobots slowly slipping from his mind. Once a number of the fleshlings had been exterminated and the rest fled from the room, Starscream and the other Decepticons set about collecting their precious Energon.

The Tekna 9.2 and the technicians froze at the sound of some sort of vehicle overhead. "Funny," one of the technicians grumbled, rubbing his neck where the Tekna 9.2 had attempted to strangle him. "Hoverbirds aren't supposed to fly low over civilian buildings."

His partner shrugged and grabbed the cord from next door's computer. She watched, trembling, as he approached her with the cord, when suddenly...

With a blast, the ceiling disintegrated, blowing apart in a series of small fragments. Filling the vision of the sky above was a vehicle like no other--and certainly not like the weak, puny hoverbirds organics used for pleasure. This one was far larger, with power etching its every feature. There was something about it that suggested cunning in every way; the Tekna 9.2 could almost imagine a smirk on its face. Then it changed.

It folded up, it unfolded. In place of a nose, there was a head, scarlet eyes burning with an undying fire. She saw confidence in its--his--every move. This was a being who would not be defied without punishment.

As if this was not awe-inspiring enough, with a blast from a pair of cannons on his arms, the technicians went flying--splat!--against the wall. The Tekna 9.2 grinned and started struggling all the more fiercely, pulling her arms desperately from the bonds. He was leaving; others were arriving and following him, but they were unimportant in light of the fact that he was leaving.

The Tekna 9.2 finally managed to squirm out of the belts that held her down and raced for the exit, weaving in between the other...robots? until she reached their leader, the red one with the fire. Gotta stay out of sight...he probably won't like it if he finds me clinging to him.

While the others enthusiastically celebrated their victory, remaining completely oblivious to the tiny bot's presence, Starscream had calmed from his frenzy of slaughtering organics. The threat of the Autobots was returning to his mind as he slipped into room next door, examining the massive computer within. His face, as he looked the machine over, was one of mocking amusement.

"These organics are so primitive. This technology is protoform's play." He produced several Energon cubes from his cockpit and began filling them with the energy from the computer and continued to grumble to himself, "At least I'll manage a few cubes from it. I doubt it'll be enough to please his majesty, the royal pain in my aft..."

The last cube filled with the glowing, magenta Energon and the Seeker picked them all up, looking around suspiciously and remaining just as unaware of the Tekna model as his companions, "I would expect those worthless Autobots to have shown up by now...Perhaps this is a rare occasion where the Decepticons see victory."

He returned to the room where he had made his stunning entrance, the others gathering up their own cubes and preparing to leave the scene of the crime. Starscream could help but let the smirk widen on his face, the sensation of victory was something the Decepticons, especially himself, were allowed to feel. Riding the high of this rare situation, the commander triumphantly cried to his soldiers, "Decepticons, it's time we take our leave. We don't want to keep our glorious leader waiting, do we?"

With that he transformed, the Energon cubes retreating back into his cockpit, and soared through the hole he had previously made. With no sign of the Autobots showing up in time to stop them, it would seem Starscream had actually managed a successful raid. For once.

((Very successful, Screamer xDDD))

The first robot was leaving the room, and the Tekna 9.2 had to run to keep up with him. Once more, she felt short--how could everything else on Teggerra be so tall and she so short?

Never mind that, I've got to stay with him! She held on so tightly to that thought that she barely registered what else he was saying. Somethinga bout a leader...so he wasn't their leader? Why not? He was full of a fire, a burning power that no one could possibly hold--so why wasn't he the leader? The Tekna 9.2 shrugged to herself. That was an answer she'd have to find later, though she doubted--or was it hoped?--that this "leader" could be so great if he were insulting him.

It wasn't hard to tell that he and the rest were taking off. If she had known how to pray, she would have done so--prayed that they would not catch her and throw her off. She would not leave the handsome bot who had rescued her. There was no way she could let him leave her. She reached up as he and his companions were getting ready to leave and climbed his armor onto his back, between the shoulderblades. When he transformed--and surely he would transform--he would, with luck, not notice her.

At least until I get an opportunity to introduce myself. If I introduced myself now, he'd probably laugh at me and tell me to stay here. Part of her shook its head adamantly and scoffed--he wouldn't leave me here!--but it was better safe than sorry. The Tekna 9.2 closed her eyes as he transformed and the armor beneath her shifted. With that, he took off, and it was up into the dizzying sky.

After leaving the building it was straight through the atmosphere and out into the open void of space. Had they really done it? Was it possible that they had managed to not only retrieve a significant amount of Energon, but done so without even the slightest sign of the Autobots? Starscream could hardly believe it. Something had to go wrong, it simply couldn't be this easy. He would be convinced they had been successful when they reached the asteroid, where Astrotrain was waiting to transport them the rest of the way to Cybertron(/Earth?).

He continued on through the empty space, thinking on so many different things; the lack of Autobots, the stupidity of his companions, the nuisance that was Megatron. It was in times like this, when he let his mind wander, that he realized how alone he was. The Decepticons knew of her treacherous nature and didn't trust him, the Autobots were worthless and would trust him even less than his fellow Decepticons and everything in between he hardly considered worth his time.

With a heavy sigh, the Seeker twisted through the weightless air before coming upon a small asteroid and transforming before settling on its surface. After depositing the glowing cubes into the bus driver of the Decepticons, he took the time to wander off to be with his thoughts for a moment. Knowing the others, it would take them several astrocycles to get their acts together and be ready to leave.

Space! The Tekna 9.2 had never known space to be so...well, it was endless! She'd thought it would look like a black fishbowl with some stars sprayed on, but this...this was completely different. It knew it went off in all directions, and it sh--hey, wait, why were they landing on an asteroid? There was nothing on it--well, except for some sort of shuttle--how could this be their stop?!

The Tekna 9.2 was starting to get tired. Who knew how long it had been since she had last been plugged into a socket? She had no idea how long her battery would last at this rate. She was almost starting to regret this harebrained mission when she heard* the robot sigh. He took off on his own across the lonely asteroid. What sort of life did he live that he was sighing and complaining so much? What had gone wrong? Deep in thought, the Tekna 9.2 hadn't realized that she had lost her grip and was falling to the ground when she made an audible clunk on the asteroid.

Starscream's ears flicked, then pinned back as he heard the sound behind him. Assuming it was one of his fellow Decepticons trying to sneak around he instantly flipped around, glaring threateningly at....nothing? There was no bot standing before him. Had he simply been hearing things? His processors must have been shot after so many beatings from the Autobots, and Megatron.

He sighed yet again, shaking his head and rubbing his temples. That's when he noticed it. The small, white, fox-shaped machine settled on the rock below him. Where did this come from? Was it the source of the sound he had heard? Looking around cautiously for any signs of others around, he slowly lowered down to its level and examined it, poking the Tekna 9.2 to see what kind of reaction he would get.

If the Tekna 9.2 could breathe, she would not have been able to as the robot turned around, gazing first at nothing. Look down, look do--wait, don't look down, don't look down!! She couldn't help it. Something inside her was fighting with something else inside her. She was almost ready to run away when he got down on her level and poked her.

"Um...Hi?" she said shyly as he poked her. She drew her knees up to her chest and wrapped her cord around them neatly, preparing for the blow, or, worse, the laughter as he found that such a tiny creature had hitched a ride on his back. Mockery, derisement--no doubt such a great and noble fighter as he found a computer like her to be primitive and quaint. The Tekna 9.2 was surprised to find that she didn't want that. She felt like she would fall apart if he laughed at her. For some reason, she wanted to impress him. But how? I don't even know that much about him!
PostPosted: Thu Dec 24, 2009 11:29 pm

It spoke? How was this possible? It was obviously the same primitive technology as that of the organics on the planet they had just raided but...it seemed to have a spark, or something very similar. And yet, that was inconceivable. Organics couldn't create a spark, it was simply impossible without the proper Cybertronian technology, which those flesh creatures obvious did not have. He continued to examine her with his optics, trying to figure out how she functioned.

"How are you able to speak? How do you function?" He picked her up, and not very gently, to better look at her without having to hunch over. She simply baffled him and, to be quite honest, he didn't like that. Not being able to understand how something organics had created was simply shameful. Of course....if he had the proper tools he could quite easily figure it out by opening her up and digging through her circuits. He was practically planning out exactly how he would go about that at the moment.

Wonderment? Confusion?! Well, that was a lot different from what the Tekna 9.2 had expected!

In fact, it was almost more unpleasant. That's what the organics wanted to know! I guess all I can do is give the same answer and hope that he isn't stubborn enough not to accept it. That didn't seem likely. He seemed like the stubborn type. "I don't know," she confessed. "That is, I assume I am powered by electricity--that much seems obvious--" she held aloft her cord "but I am not sure how I managed to attain sentience. My creators claim it was not in my programming.

"I assume it might be similar to how you function, sir?" she added hopefully. He was much taller than her--much taller than anyone she'd met--and it was strange to be looking him in the face. She could see the fire much closer now--or was it a spark? Either way, it was pure, bright tenaciousness and determination, and she couldn't help but admire it. Strange how I admire him so much, and I don't know him! I don't know what he is! "What are you, sir?" she asked.

Listening to every word as if it would somehow reveal to him the answers he sought, the Seeker was a bit disappointed when she was just as confused by her existence as he was. She wasn't telling him anything he hadn't figured out on his own. It was obvious she ran on electricity and no organic programming could ever give sentience at this level. Just as he was about to proclaim how preposterous it was that she was anything like him she asked what he was. That would explain the ridiculous suggestion of their similarity.

"I am Starscream, air commander of the Decepticons." His voice, in fact, everything about him, screamed arrogance, even though he didn't exactly answer her question, "And what, exactly, are you?" He looked at her with both suspicion and curiosity.

There was hostility in the voice of--Starscream, Air Commander of the Decepticons. Starscream. That was a name that spoke volumes. Almost instantly the Tekna 9.2 thought of distant galaxies, distant systems, thought of echoing screams of terror and triumph, echoing endlessly across the farthest reaches of the cosmos, a sound, a heralding--of a new age? Of a battle fought so hard and finally won? She had no way of knowing that this battlecry would echo on in her for longer than she could ever imagine.

A fine name. I wish I had a name so grand... The Tekna 9.2 shrugged and hugged herself more tightly. "I'm...I'm the Tekna 9.2." She smiled wryly. "It's not so powerful as your name, but I'm not as great as you are, so there you go, I suppose. So...what is Decepticons? And why do you change shape? How can a robot change shape? Sounds rather complicated to me." She looked him up and down, trying to figure out the answer.
PostPosted: Fri Dec 25, 2009 12:48 am

Numbers....So very organic. The name wasn't one he was fond of, but what did it matter? This was a simple machine created by flesh creatures. He would dissect her, find out what made her tick, then dispose of her once she had revealed her secrets. Though, he had to admit, it was nice to have flattery flung at him for a change, and what would seem to be genuine admiration. It was a bit strange though, this small machine being so kind to him already. But he wouldn't complain, for now.

"A Decepticon is any Cybertronian allied with...Megatron. We transform because it makes a number of things much more easy as well as sufficing as a form of camouflage. As to how, it's simply a matter of having the right parts. For us it's a rather simple process, though I suppose to one like you it would seem complicated." The suspicion he had for the Tekna robot had essentially vanished, leaving only curiosity. It was refreshing to speak with another being that didn't scrutinize him for his past actions.

The Tekna 9.2 nodded, remembering his words earlier about this Megatron person. "Excuse me for eavesdropping earlier, but I couldn't help but overhear you say something about Megatron. I take it you don't like him? Why are you allied to him if you don't like him? I mean, why don't you just overthrow him? You seem powerful enough." Her mind raced with the possibilities of why there could be so much hatred for his...ally. The concept of relatives was alien to her, so the idea that he could have killed someone related to Starscream didn't occur to her; maybe he'd tortured Starscream? That seemed pretty likely.

I don't like the sound of Megatron.

"Yeah, it does sound complicated," she murmured. Then the Tekna 9.2 gave a nervous laugh. "I must sound pretty stupid to you, don't I? I've just...haven't been outside much. And I've never met another sentient machine, especially one like you. On that note..." She stared at her feet and murmured softly, "Thanks for rescuing me."
