Sunday December 20, 2009 my uncle died. He had been battling leukemia for a while and what actually killed him was the double pneumonia he had got over the past few weeks. So we buried him Wednesday December 23. During the funeral my Papaw was put in ICU. He has mesothelioma, lung and bone cancers, and now double pneumonia. They hooked him up to life support today and he is non responsive. They say if he makes it through the night that he will become responsive in about a week.
I'm so scared. I don't want to lose him too. I've already lost the man I wanted to marry, and my most favorite uncle in the world...I can't lose the only man who has ever acted as my father. This is all happening too fast and too horribly.
I'm begging all of you who pray to please pray for my grandfather's recovery. And please keep my family in your prayers.
Oh yeah...and this is also the first white Christmas I've had in 15 years, and it doesn't even feel like Christmas to me.
I'll try to keep this updated.

Thanks darlin'.
UPDATE
My Papaw is still in ICU, they took him off the life support on Christmas Day because he seemed to have gotten better. But they did it too soon, and now they are wanting to put him back on it. By the way, the life support they had him on was only to make him breathe. Because of the pneumonia and other lung problems, he can't breathe well enough on his own right now. His lungs have hardened and won't expand and contract to work properly, plus he has COPD and lung cancer. He can't even open his mouth, or lift his hand. Everytime he tries to, his stats go way down. So the nurses have him strapped to the bed and have denied any more visitors to see him, so he won't try to talk.

That's rather rough. Though to have all that and still be holding on like he is, I admire his strong will. I don't pray, but he will be on my mind. It's said that when someone is sick, missing, or what have you, keeping them in your mind and thinking about them helps. I hope a late christmas present will come in the means of him getting better for you Rose.

I appreciate you keeping him in your thoughts. I hope he gets better too, it would be the sweetest gift for us. He is the backbone of our family. *hugs*
