Words rang after her as her pace picked up, echoing through the narrow streets of this part of Destiny City. Words she didn't understand and didn't want to. In an effort to evade the block headed Senshi that had just wasted half an hour of her life, she dodged down a side alley. She'd avoid the rooftops for now if that meant staying out of sight of Castor.

A few more turns, down this alley, and there. She drew a deep breath as she stared up at the rooftops stretching overhead, the clicking of her heels coming to a halt. This back alley was dark and secluded and perfect for hiding for just a little while. There was no light except what little came down from above - the general glow of city lights that bathed everything.

Alkaid sighed as she leaned back against the wall, the sound of water dripping somewhere nearby reaching her ears. If she had been a normal eighteen year old girl this alley would have scared her to death. It was sad to think she was taking shelter in it just to hide from someone that irritated her. She brought a hand up to her face and brushed her fingers gently against the bruise on her cheek, her eyes fluttering shut as she let the minutes tick by.

"What a night," she muttered softly to herself, "what a night."

He had just barely caught sight of her golden bow from her behind. It was a lucky break really, him having almost turned a corner to go in a completely different direction. With the knowledge she was trying to get rid of him, Castor decided to circle around and cut her off.

The challenge had been making sure to avoid stepping in slush puddles of icy water and snow, and to not make noise in general. But, after a few hops, Castor had managed to get from point A to point B. Peering around the corner, he watched as Alkaid relaxed, her guard dropping.

"What a night indeed." Stepping into the mouth of the ally he reached out. "Hold up, I just want to talk." He looked serious...ish. "Just talk. Honest." He didn't say he would stop making bad comes ons though. He probably should have.

Alkaid's eyes flashed open at the sound of Castor's voice, her body tensing. Had this creep actually followed her? Okay, maybe a dark alley wasn't the safest place for her to be right now. She was perfectly safe from regular muggers but she was fairly certain she was no match for a Super Senshi. She wasn't even a match for a regular Senshi, what was she thinking?

She brought up an accusatory finger and stepped away from the wall, opening her mouth to lay the reprimands on him when he spoke up again. She faltered, her words dying on her lips, and stared at him in silence for a few moments. She didn't know if he was being serious or not. He certainly looked serious (in comparison to what she'd seen before anyway).

"Fine," she sighed, her pointed finger relaxing and both arms crossing over her chest. "We'll talk, but no funny business or I'm out of here." Not that her attempt at escape had really been that successful before. "What do you want.. to talk about?" The last bit was tacked onto the end of her sentence quickly after a moment's pause, an obvious attempt to keep him from making a crude remark. But like with Uranophane, she had a funny feeling she was ill-equipped to play this game.

"All work and no play makes Alkaid a dull girl." He grined before wincing. "s**t, that's not what I wanted to say. What I mean is," he waved a hand in the air, "lighten up. We're not under attack or anything right now. I'm certainly not going to attack you." This was true, he didn't attack with out provocation. He also tried not to attack girls as a general rule. "Okay. Back up. We got off on the wrong foot."

Taking a deep breath, he held out his hand. "Castor, super senshi of hail." This was completed by "Ignore any come ons I make. I don't mean them half the time." Castor, now with disclaimer!

"You should think before you speak," she said dryly, her eyes attempting to shoot daggers at him for his stupid comment.

Then he started to back peddle and for the first time since she'd met him tonight, Alkaid actually felt like she didn't want to tape his mouth shut. Well, maybe a little less, anyway. She did realize however that if her Gran had been there she would have been smacking the backs of her hands with a ruler for how rude she was being. The poor guy was trying to be nice, at least, and if he was willing to admit that he was an idiot for the things he said then that was at least a small step right?

"I'm sorry," she said suddenly, dropping her hand and rubbing her palms against the skirt of her Fuku, "I'm a little tightly wound these days. Not without reason, but I guess it's making me a bit more judgmental than usual." Her reasons were pretty clearly printed on her face and arms (and other places Castor would never see) in the forms of fading bruises. She felt it gave her a right to be hesitant around Negaversers, but he was obviously not one of those. They were on the same side here.

As he extended his hand, she hesitated for a moment, before mentally kicking herself and doing the same. He was being nice, have a little more faith. She took his hand and offered him a smile much more befitting her golden outfit than her cross demeanor had been. "Alkaid, Senshi of Guidance. And.. I'll try, but I don't make any promises in that regard." It was hard to keep her temper when he was making such rude remarks towards her, but as long as he at least tried to keep a handle on it she might as well try not to go into b***h mode.

It was going to be a test or patience on Alkaid's part, and a test of self control for Castor. And with his track record, he'd make them both fail. But, there was a first for everything. Wasn't there?

For Castor, it was time to put the cliche saying to the test. "Just promise you won't attack me. Nemesis already did that and I'd not like a repeat of that particular event." he was till bitter about it. But, he didn't hate Nemesis, just the fact she beat him, (even if it was kind of deserved).
Speaking of beatings. "Not to pry but...how did you end up like that? And don't give me any 'I fell down the stairs' crap." Had her even heard that before? Wait, yes he had. he'd used it to explain some of his old wounds and bruises from fights. sadly, the excuse got used up fast. You could only fall down so many stairs so many times before some one got suspicious.
"You may not ever like me, but, we're still senshi. At the very least we've got to look out for each other...Or something like that."

This, coming from one of the worst team players to ever exist.

Alkaid dropped her hand from his and crossed her arms back over her chest - apparently a defensive stance. At this point it was probably just because she found the situation to be a little awkward, especially with the subjects he was beginning to breach.

"I don't think you'd have to worry even if I did attack you," she tried to laugh it off, but her smile was a little weak, "but for what it's worth, I promise I won't. I had to deal with Nemesis the night that Chloe found me." She would have liked to remember the night fondly if it weren't for the girl that had been screaming at herself, Chloe and the youma every five seconds.

At his question about her wounds (which were really nothing much at this point, aside from her nose), she scuffed her foot against the ground and pretended to take a long time examining her heels. She hadn't told anyone besides Saiph the truth, but that was because she didn't know any other Senshi besides Nemesis. Her story thus far had simply been that she'd been in a bicycle accident in the park, but that was because she couldn't tell anyone she was a Senshi. He already knew that, didn't he?

"It was a Negaverser, a purple-haired witch with jumper cables." She grimaced slightly as Tanzanite's face surfaced in her mind, her eyes shutting. She actually looked like she might faint or be sick - it had been the scariest moment of her life. "I never got her name, but luckily Saiph found me." She blew out a long breath and opened her eyes, offering him a half smile that betrayed her feelings on the subject. Everything had turned out fine in the end, but she was suffering some serious long-term issues because of it.

He laughed. "Don't be so modest. We're senshi. Pretty dangerous in general. I haven't run into many senshi that weren't a threat on some level." Then again, Flora had been kind of lacking. But she was spring. It was winter. That had to do with her powers or something. Not to mention the fact he'd not run into THAT many senshi. At least not wimpy ones, (this was subjective).

"Chloe? Cat Chloe with a star on her head and is pretty awesome for a talking cat? Lucky." This was said in full sincerity. "I got pissed of pussycat Astraea. She's...cool in her own way," she had saved his life after all, "but she's a b***h." This was true, sadly. "Chloe is much more...sweet." Sweet was a good word for it. Then again, he'd only seen her with Lyra aka Liz.

But, purple hair, jumper cables? "Tanzanite? Tanz? Tannypoo?" he looked a bit shocked, despite how they had first met and fought. "No way." Well, actually. "Okay. Well. I guess she could have done that." he looked at the bruises. "Yeah, she probably did." Moving on. he didn't really want the world to know he'd kind of had a party with a supposed enemy, if they hadn't seen the graffiti yet. "Saiph?"

"I'm not being modest," she shook her head as she said it, sending her long pale braid swinging behind her. "I kind of wish I was, but I'm really not. I could show you if you want? You might actually understand what I mean, then." She probably could have hit him with it and he never would have known it was an actual attack apart from the typical magical glowing that seemed to accompany most attacks, but she had promised not to attack him, so she simply shrugged.

"Yeah, that one." She thought it should be pretty obvious, but didn't remark. What other Chloe would have found her? "I've never actually met Astraea though, only heard about her." And if she was anything like Castor was describing, well, she wasn't sure she wanted to meet her any time soon. "I'll agree that Chloe is definitely sweet, though. Anyone that can put up with Nemesis deserves a badge."

Tannypoo? Nicknames implied familiarity - and usually that the involved parties were on friendly terms. She didn't know how Castor knew the purple-haired witch (Tanzanite, was it? at least she had a name for her nightmares now) but he was lucky that she was resisting the urge to stomp on his foot again. "Yes, she most certainly did, I assure you," and that pissy tone was back, "she nearly killed me." She narrowed her eyes a fraction before mentally reprimanding herself. Dropping her arms and trying to relax her defensive stance as a sign of good faith, she made a dismissive motion with her hand, "Saiph is my partner, Senshi of the Primordial."

"....s**t." Castor realized his mistake a bit too late. Tanzanite did do this. hell, he knew that she was a fighter. they had fought after all. And she could have beaten him. Thankfully, all they had done was party. Party hard, (he would never look at Coors Light ever again). "Uh...Well...that is to say..." He rubbed the back of his head and forced out a weak laugh. "You see, we started fighting...but then...things...got better?" Another weak laugh.
"We kind of stopped fighting and well..we hung out." Waving his hand, he was trying to dismiss it as irrelevant. "Anyway, long story short, we're not best friends or anything just...good acquaintances." The way he said it seemed like there was more then he let on.

"Anyway, Saiph. Primordial. She, (I assume it's a chick), a good fighter? Know anything about this whole senshi gig?" A smirk. "Is she hott?" Then he frowned. "You can ignore the last part if you want."

For what it was worth, Alkaid listened to what he was saying. She gave him her full attention, didn't interrupt, and simply stared at him in silence. Of course, one eyebrow was raised in a rather disapproving manner and she had put her hands on her hips in the typical 'b***h' motion that seemed to be universal with almost all women. "Well, suffice to say things did not get between the two of us, unless you call a broken nose, concussion, and hospital visit a party." Okay, well, that was a little harsh, but she wasn't the one living it up with the Negaverse. Besides, his tone of voice implied there was more to the story.

If it had involved anyone besides the girl she now considered to be her mortal enemy, she probably would have pried. Luckily for Castor, she just didn't think she could stomach anything else.

"Right, Saiph," her tone was a little irritable, and it was obvious that by now she just wanted to drop that conversation. "Yes, she is a girl," she purposefully corrected his slang, because something about 'chick' just seemed demeaning, "and she's an excellent fighter. The last I saw of Tanzanite after Saiph's attack, she was dragging herself out of a pile of rubble." Well, she had wanted to drop the talk of Tanzanite, but that was really the only battle the pair of them had been in. "Then she piggybacked me all the way to the hospital."

She cut her eyes up at him sharply at his last comment, but surprisingly zipped her lips before he even (sort of) apologized for saying it. "I intend to," was all she remarked. She was being patient, really.

And he was back on her bad side, (He considered she must have a good side, but then again...it might all be bad). "Uh....yeah." He was so smooth. The idea od Tanz pulling herself out of rubble made his visibly wince. He liked Tanz. Just not what she stood for. Or the fact she liked to beat s**t up, (he could sort of remember her beat on a guy in a bar...sort of. beer made things hazy). He also didn't like that fact she was beat on senshi, even if it was her job.

But he still liked her.

"Well, if she's a good fighter, and you say you're not, is it just due to magic or...can you not defend yourself?" He raised a brow at the piggybacking. He tended to read way to much into things. A grin broke out. He just couldn't hold back. "I can teach you a few tricks if you like."

At least he didn't say anything else. She didn't care what his thoughts on Tanzanite were because nothing anyone said would ever convince her that she had one redeeming quality. That tended to happen when someone threatened to kill you, and she for one was not going to apologize for it. At least he wasn't making it into an argument like she might have expected and for that he got a few brownie points, which meant he was only slightly in the negatives at this point.

"Both," she said with a sigh, reaching up to rub the back of her neck. It was a little embarrassing to admit to, but she supposed he would find out anyway should he ever be lucky enough to find her in a battle. "My magic isn't really offensive - it's not even defensive. It's just support. It tracks." Which was kind of weak, but she was the Senshi of Guidance after all. "And, well, the defending thing? I wasn't much of a fighter before this. I'm still not." She saw the grin, even narrowed her eyes at it, but chose not to comment. At least he hadn't verbalized whatever he was thinking - that was a few more brownie points.

"Tricks?" She was skeptical, of course she was, but give her a break. He had been hitting on her all night. "Alright, I'll bite, but remember - no funny business." That grin wasn't exactly reassuring, and her expression showed exactly what she thought about it.

As Alkaid explained her powers, or lack of, Castor folded his arms. If she couldn't do anything magically, all that was left was just relying on your physical power...which she probably lacked. "Tracking kinda sucks." There, he said it. "But at least you'll never loose your house keys!" And he said that too. Well, laughed it out really.

"Look, take a self defense class. You'll need it." He walked over and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Like, you need to know how to fight me off. Let along a negaverse agent, at the very least." He gave her shoulder a light squeeze. "Like right now, I could push you down and potentially steal your star seed easy." He gave her shoulder a light push, yet castor's grip remained firm. "You need to be able to react. As in, push my arm down with enough force to break it...but not really. Just push down." He smiled, oddly, it wasn't lecherous.

"Thanks for reminding me," she said dryly. She didn't really need to be reminded that her power sucked - she was well aware of it. After all, she was reminded every time she tried to use it. She did manage a small smile at his joke, though, so maybe that was a good sign.

"I'm thinking about taking them, actually," and she was. She just had to figure out the best way to do it. Classes meant money and money she didn't exactly have. If she asked Gran, well then she'd have to tell her and what excuse would she have for suddenly wanting defense classes? Gran wasn't a stupid lady, she'd make the connection with those bruises.

She was still contemplating this when he reached out to put an hand on her shoulder and her eyes immediately turned up to stare at him sharply. "I know what I need to do, I just don't know how." She wasn't exactly comfortable with him being in her personal space but until he stepped over the line, she supposed she'd tolerate it. He was still making her a bit nervous, though.
