__________
The refugees refer to the vast area below Kumokagure (mainly Crystals of Hope) as 'The Under Area'
The Under Area is a beautiful sight indeed, a mass of land at the base of the village surrounded by naturally occurring warm water. Many villagers come to bathe in the wonderful waters in the morning. However, this area mainly serves as a training ground for Kumo.
Shinobi of all ranks train in the middle, Jounin-sensei bring their own Gennin here for various water-based endurance exercises. Many lately simply prefer to exercise and teach here. The area is the warmest part of the village due to the immediate warm-water surrounding.

(( Ok so I just messed up on the chuunin thing, whatevs P: is the timeskip really 3 years? I thought it was undecided ))
[FROM ENTRANCE BRIDGE]
Xoren was intrigued as Kiego told him of the Raiken's abilities, it sounded much like his own clan, Nara, except instead of manipulating shadows, the Raiken manipulated lightning instead. He found the idea interesting, if not amazing. Kiego proceeded to give for probably the 5th time, a pat on Xoren's back. He took it, and felt the abrupt stop in the hit. *Does he think I can't take a single tap?* Xoren pondered over it, but then went back to more logical thinking. *Perhaps the Raiken's physicaly disadvantages go further than I thought..*
Continuing with his silent thoughts, he heard Kiego talk about his abilities and going to the under area, and Xoren turned around just in time to see him do a few handseals and almost vanish in a crack of light. Observing the lack of wood or objects used in the jutsu, Xoren knew that it wasn't something as simple as a Kawarimi no Jutsu.
*Manipulating electricity... maybe he went faster? But how does one speed themselves up to a speed where they almost vanish...*
Without a better explanation, he attributed the vanishing to a lightning/speed related jutsu, and he started his own slow way down from the entrance bridge, one of the top parts of Kumo, and walked his way down the various parts to the bottom, the under area, the area beneath the massive crystalline structures where most of the shinobi enjoyed training. He himself had not yet gone so many times, but he had seen the people there training. *Guess it's my turn, and with a chuunin, maybe I can learn something useful.*
[ARRIVING IN TRAINING AREA]
Xoren was slightly breathing hard as he jogged into the under area, Kiego nowhere to be seen. He himself started stretching his arms and fingers in preparation of some jutsu training, he wouldn't let a chuunin's flashy jutsu be better than his mysterious shadow jutsu that nobody knew the secrets to.
*I wonder how powerful this Kiego is.. chuunin at 12, and the ability to use a jutsu that makes him go almost twice as fast as a normal person... I should observe how he does his next few jutsu, so that I can learn how to counter it, if any other Raiken ever go rogue...*
Just as he was thinking of how to counter one of his moves, Kiego had just appeared from behind a rock formation and walked towards Xoren.
"Well I can see that you take your time" Xoren remarked sarcastically as he regretted his own weak physical disposition.

(Zentos, if you could change you post, Kiego isn't really the person to be ready to go for a fight. Just say that he couldn't see Kiego anywhere so Xoren decided to stretch.)
Today's Theme is Battle Ignition
Kiego laid lazily back on a stone stalagmite, hidden behind a rock precipice. The travel between the Entrance Bridge and the Training Grounds had taken only seconds; traveling through the rock floor between the Crystals of Hope and the Training Grounds had slowed him down. Over the years, Kiego had perfected his Lightning jutsus, on a level that no other could compare. Kiego had started out only being able to travel a few meters, and it took almost as long as if he had just ran. Over time, the distance increased, and the time it took to get there decreased. Now, even complex Lightning jutsus that he couldn't even perform Kiego had full understanding of.
So when he arrived, obviously, Kiego had a few minutes to kill before Xoren would get to the Training Grounds. He felt a little bad that he had left Xoren out on the Entrance Bridge out of the blue. Then again, a little sleep, and everything would be right with the world again. So Kiego crawled through the forest of stalagmites and stalactites, which he had explored much of during his first few months coming out of his coma. He found a nice little opening between stalagmites, leaned back on one of them, and drifted of to sleep. His deep and slow breathing was perhaps the only thing that could be heard in the Training Grounds besides the occasional drop of water falling from a stalactite, at least for a few minutes. It wasn't until the footsteps of the new Gennin echoed down the long corridor that lead to the Training Grounds, that Keigo's ears adjusted to the incoming sound and he opened his eyes.
Kiego's eyes slowly opened, closing again a few times before his brain finally jumpstarted and he woke up. After looking around for a minute with half-opened eyes, Kiego stretched out his limbs in all directions, pushed himself off of the cave floor, and walked past the rocky pillars before him to reach the clearing in which Xoren was waiting. Kiego wondered if he had made the child wait too long, as Xoren was already stretching. As the child caught sight of Kiego, he remarked as to Kiego's arrival, to which he yawned and responded, "Ah, I like a good, pre-fight nap. Don't get your Gennin headband is a twist".
Kiego was joking as to he comment on Xoren's headband, but he didn't want the Gennin to accidentally misinterpret his remark, so Keigo gave the child a reassuring smile while slightly leaning his head to one side. "Now then," Keigo began. "I got a feeling about you that you wanted to get a taste of the Raiken's abilities. If you don't have any objections, I'll start."
As Kiego finished, a mischievous smile grew upon his face, as he formed several hand signs. "Raikou Sao no Justu," he said, and began to charge electricity within his body. Within moments, several sparks could be seen coming off of Kiego, and electrical charges could be seen making their way down from his head to his feet and into the ground. This lasted for about three seconds, until the charge had built up enough to be released. As per the jutsu, Kiego released an EMP that not only coated his body in electricity, but charged the surrounding floor, ceiling, and cave walls. As the pulse headed Xoren's way, his only option might have been to create some kind of obstacle between him and the EMP.
Raikou Sao no Jutsu - Lightning Rod Technique This is the technique that is used so that the person can first start conducting electricity in the first place. With it, they're basically making the battlefield considerably more lethal, along with preparing their future techniques. The user makes it so his entire body is wrapped up in lightning, making it so that whenever an opponent touches them, they'll get zapped. However, the amount of damaged from the zap varies from stage to stage. Also, it's only defense. When a person attacks, they're forced to drop the jutsu to do so. You have to be standing still in order to use this technique in defense. Cp Cost: 10 + 5 per holding post Damage: 5 to 10 + Chakra + 1 per 10 ranks Ninjutsu

(( ninja I actually wasn't looking forward to a FIGHT, more like, TRAINING. P: )) Just as Xoren had finished stretching, Kiego had turned to him and offered to show Xoren some of his clan's abilities. Without waiting for his response, Kiego grinned wide and started forming hand seals. Surprised, Xoren was on the defense now, and he shuffled a few steps back while Kiego started his jutsu. He heard the words "Raikou Sao no Jutsu" and was immediately worried.
*Raikou Sao no jutsu.... Lightning Rod technique?*
Xoren was startled as Kiego started to seemingly shoot off lightning from his body. After a few seconds of the lightning coming from Kiego's body, it started to expand, all across the floor, the ceiling, and in every direction. The light emanating from it was dazzling, the very ground in front of him sparking and full of electricity. Immediately thinking of how to counter the technique, and only having seconds to do so, Xoren's mind worked rapidly.
*Lightning rod technique, the energy is being conducted through him as if he was the lightning rod, and if a lightning rod is moved from the place of conductivity the lightning will stop until re-channeled through the conductor. If I can move him somehow, I might be able to stop the jutsu.*
Xoren realized that as he finished thinking, the electricity was coming closer, in fact it was still moving forward, inching towards him. He looked around the cavern for anything he could use, and noticed something that was of the utmost importance, that might just save him from the shocking surprise waiting for him.
The lightning in the cavern was dazzlingly bright, and the whole cave was filled with light and energy. Realizing that this could just be the thing he was looking for, he hopped onto a nearby stalagmite and jumped into the air so that Kiego's electricity couldn't touch him for a few moments, and he had calculated that the area where he was to land wouldn't be touched by the electricity for another 6.2 seconds.
*I really hope this works.*
"Kagemane no Jutsu!" Xoren yelled as he made the traditional Rat hand seal, and focused in on the shadow that was now so big because of his altitude in the air, and the light above him coming from Kiego's own electricity. His shadow and Kiego's touched for just a moment, but that was long enough. Now connected, their movements would be mirrored. As Xoren landed on the ground, the electricity was coming faster than he expected, taking 5.6 seconds instead of the 6.2 he had predicted, and Xoren had to take a step back to avoid getting shocked. As he took a step back, his shadow, along with Kiego's shadow, moved Kiego as well, and the jutsu was almost immediately stopped as the conductor moved out of place. Thinking he was successful, he held the jutsu to see Kiego's next move, and if he was powerful enough to break out of the jutsu.
Quote: Kagemane no Jutsu (Shadow Bind) A skill that originally was used as a delaying tactic, the user is able to control an opponent's movement by connecting his shadow to theirs. The user's shadow is able to move, extend and change shape, but it must maintain the same surface area as the original. Any shadows between the user and opponent can be used to increase the total surface area, thus allowing the user's shadow to extend further than normal. The technique is also known as the Shadow Bind Skill (Kage Shibari no Jutsu). This jutsu does not harm the ninja using it when their opponent is harmed, unless they're harmed by an outside force and the movement made could hurt the user, such as an arm breaking or a quick neck jerk. (Sorry man, I don't mean to be annoying and call you out on everything, but you do realize that an EMP would fill the cavern within a 1-2 seconds, so there is no time to dodge? For that, I have to do damage roll since you didn't dodge. As far as the lightning making the room bright, since the EMP takes only about three seconds tops, the room would again be filled with shadows, and the Kagemane is an auto-hit. ^_^
Also, you might want to post your Hp and Cp. The Kagemane takes up 20 Cp)

*s**t, my chakra's running out pretty fast.*
Xoren was getting nervous, he could feel his chakra slowly draining out of him while Kiego had plenty left. Fearful of his newfound friend, but for now enemy, Xoren lifted his shadow jutsu and pulled his katana out of his sheath. He knew that this would end pretty badly, as he was a genin going up against a prodigy chuunin, but his pride didn't let him back down. He took a stance and stalked closer to Kiego, very, oh so very aware that he could use any number of lightning jutsu and Xoren could do nothing about it.
Hopeful that he wouldn't be too obviously outmatched, he got even closer and attempted a high strike aimed at Kiego's shoulders. His katana felt heavy in his hand as he swung, but he ignored his physical weakness and hoped the surprise release of his shadow jutsu and using his sword to attack would confuse Kiego enough that his strike would hit. A thousand thoughts ran through his head at once, a thousand scenarios of how the fight would turn out. None of them good. Everything that played on in his head ended up in his loss, and he didn't like that. Xoren had even calculated the miniscule .02% chance a stalactite would fall from the ceiling and struck Kiego, but still his lightning jutsu would prevail over Xoren.
All these thoughts and percentages struck Xoren in a tenth of a second, and knowing it was completely futile, he still had to try and prove himself in this chuunin's eyes. He put all his force behind his sword and tried to finish the battle as soon as possible.

Today's Theme is Battle Ignition
Kiego barely had any time to get his head on straight. One second he had used the Raikou Sao no Jutsu to send an EMP at the Gennin, the next second, he was leaping at Kiego with a sword raised high. Kiego took a brief second to close his eyes and figure out what had just happened. In his mind, he saw the EMP heading towards the child, and was pretty sure that it hit Xoren, as he flinched as the electromagnetic pulse passed over him. The electricity in the cave and briefly filled the cave with light, obliterating any shadows for the Nara to use. That was Kiego's initial target. Unfortunately, by passing through the EMP, Xoren had taken advantage of Kiego's temporary paralysis, and was successful in getting him within the hold of the Kagamane no Jutsu, one of the Nara's signature techniques.
Once he was in the hold of the Kagemane, Kiego was sure that the Gennin had him exactly where he wanted him. Kiego lacked the physical strength to break free of such a jutsu; it was one of his fatal flaws. However, it seemed that the child lacked sufficient chakra to sustain the jutsu for long enough, as Kiego felt the shadowy hand pull away from restricting his body. Out of chakra, it seemed to Kiego that the child had decided to go on the physical offensive, taking advantage of another one of Kiego's fatal flaws: physical combat. The Raiken's weak physical prowess would make fighting hand to hand combat difficult, which is why he always carried his katana with him at all times, though he left his Staff in his small apartment.
Now, Xoren was charging at the Chunnin, his personalized Kumo sword raised high. Kiego though fast and reached behind his back to pull out his own katana: Denkou Yaiba. As he pulled the sword from its wood sheath, he could hear the metal on metal scrap of the sword edge against the metal lip of the sheath. It was strangely comfortable to Kiego, which somewhat worried him. But his mind was on the training battle, so he pushed these thoguhts from his mind, and focused on his sword which he now held in his right hand.
Kiego looked at the sword before him. It was a beautiful example of the craftsmanship of the Kumo blacksmiths. It was a double edged sword, unlike most other katanas, which had a single bladed side. Down the middle of the blade, was a single clear crystal grove, which he could channel his Lightning chakra into. As Xoren grew closer, though it had barely been more than two seconds of thought, Kiego turned his hand to the side, so that the blade was parallel to the ground, placed his left hand over the end of the blade, and as he slide his hand from right to left to the end of the blade, Kiego uttered the words, "Raidendou". As his hand passed over the clear crystal in the middle, it lit right up with a bright yellow light, as the blade became charged with Lightning chakra. The blade began to vibrate in his hand to an extremely high frequency. Now he was ready to block the boy, who was now right in front of Kiego. As Xoren's katana came down to slice Kiego, he parried with a double-handed horizontal side swipe. Now with the child held at bay, Kiego could go on the offensive, but he didn't want to be too tough on the Gennin, sohe let go of his sword with his left hand, drew it back, and attempted to punch the Gennin square in the stomach.
Denkou Yaiba (Lightning Blade) Every member of Kumogakure is given a specially crafted blade, made to amplify his or her Lightning chakra. Kiego Raiken has named his blade Denkou Yaiba, because of its abilities. The katana has a clear grove down the middle of the blade that glows a bright yellow when the user pours chakra into the blade. This activates ability to effortlessly convert chakra into Lightning chakra. So when Kiego puts his chakra into the blade, it can automatically change it into electricity, ready for use.
Instead of using one’s strength to swing the sword and hit the opponent as hard as possible, the damage it inflicts is based on the chakra one has put into the blade. The blade then vibrates at an extremely high frequency, which gives the blade its extremely sharp edge. Even if the sword misses its target, if the opponent gets within 3 feet of the blade, they may receive 5 Hp damage from a bolt of electricity connecting with their person. Cp: 10 per round Damage: 12 – 24 + Chakra Mod Range: Melee + 3 feet Special: If you miss the DC for the opponent by 2 or less, they receive -5 Hp damage from a bolt of lightning hitting them from close proximity

Cp cost: 10 per attack Damage: See Special. Reflex DC: N/A Requirements: Lightning Affinity, Kumo steel weapon/Chakra Control: 10, Ninjutsu: 6 Training: 25 posts Special: Add chakra mod. to damage. It almost seemed that the fight would end right then and there as Xoren's charge seemed to catch the chuunin off guard. His hopes high, he flung his whole weight into the strike, hoping to end the fight early. Before he knew it, Kiego had drawn his own katana and conducted lightning chakra through it. Xoren could already tell what was about to happen as he felt the blades clash, and the lightning chakra passed through the swords into Xoren's body, and he felt his nerves almost fry as the shocking feeling entered and exited within a few seconds. Directly after the lightning parry, he saw Kiego's fist lift up and rush into his face. At such close quarters Xoren knew that he couldn't defeat the blow, but he tried to roll his face into the strike, not allowing it to bruise later on.
He knew that his situation was precarious, but he refused to quit. He realized that his chakra level was still pretty low, so his only refuge would either be to use taijutsu or depend on his swordsmanship. Either choice was bad for Xoren as his physical state was probably worse than Kiego's. Nevertheless, he had to try. Lifting his fist to return the blow that Kiego had just given him, he swung his right arm in an attempt to knock the wind out of him.
Starting to analyze the situation, Xoren had to think fast if he didn't want to end up knocked out by the end of the fight.
*Well, his ninjutsu and chakra levels are obviously higher than mine, and I don't even have enough to start another kagemane jutsu, so I can rule out using ninjutsu. He alluded to his physical condition, but I doubt mine could be any better than his. He already successfully blocked my sword attack, which means that his dexterity or reflexes should already be better than mine. I'll be impressed if this fist attack works out well. At the very least, I'll probably just have to play on his physical weakness and continue to throw punches out.*
As he realized that there was no positive way out of his situation, he strengthened his resolve for the onslaught of attacks that were inevitably about to come his way. His mind still whirring to try and find a way out of this, he knew that the fight would end badly, most likely him on the floor unconscious, and in the future he decided that he should probably work on his chakra levels.
Withdrawing from his mind and focusing on the battle at hand, he put all his force into the right hand that was flying towards Kiego's chest. All that he could hope for was that it either hit, or Kiego didn't counter it. He didn't want any unnecessary bruises that would remind him of this painful battle.

(( ^^Forgot to roll ))
Xoren was hopeful that his punch would hit home, but knew that even if it did his chances in this battle were extremely slim. He tried to think of another possible way to get out of the fight, but knew that he had to try, if not to protect his pride, then to not be shown up. He didn't want his lack of skill to be too evident against this chuunin. Knowing that it was completely irrational that the chuunin would ever brag about beating him, he knew that he still had to try to win.

The figure of a young girl entered the training area. With her palish colored eyes she observed her surroundings. Nature was such an amazing and beautiful thing, creating master pieces over and over again for hundreds of centuries if not more. Crouching down quietly near the body of warm water Hitomi glanced at her reflection then gently brushed the tips of her figures of the crystal like surface. Such an act stirred the the peaceful water sending ripples one after another.
She hadn't been in the area long when the sound of clashing metal suddenly rang through the air. From the sound of it it seemed to be coming from the other end from where she was. Curious to know who were the ones training the girl got up and headed towards the noise. After a while she was able to completely distinguish who they were, one she knew as another genin. Unfortunately Hitomi could not recall his name, she only knew he was from the Nara clan. The other she knew as Kiego, a village chuunin.
Keeping her distance so she wouldn't disturb the match or get in the middle of it she watched silently. Post brought to you by

Satsuki slowly walked down the man-made steps as the steam slowly began to take a hold of him soothe his gentle skin. He sighed as the sight of the underground caverns. A sight he thought that would never grow old. The teal and green eyes slowly shifted down the population of shinobi training. Closest to him stood the pretty girl he had known about all too well, Hitomi. He walked behind her, a compassionate smile coming over his normally apathetic visage.
"Hitomi, you've grown. I don't think getting to see your face in the chats is enough.", S. B. Yuria noted, smiling down at her, his eyes shifting, watching Kiego and Xoren train. His hands were now behind him. Satsuki was referring to the fireside chats he held in the mornings, however he always took the time he had to connect with his villagers. Hitomi's father had let the Raikage know much about the girl.

Hearing footsteps approach from behind Hitomi slightly shifted her head to glance at the person coming. Smiling softly she bowed polity and thanked him for his comment. "Hello and thank you, Raikage-sama. She paused a bit to resume watching Xoren and Kiego's fight. "Who is the Nara fighting with Keigo? I can't seem to recall his name.... it was true she had been trying to remember but to no avail. What bothered her the most was it was on the tip of her tongue. She disliked that sensation.
Never shifting her gaze from the two males she waited patiently for the Raikage's reply and answer. She didn't bother asking what he was doing done here for such a thing was normal for their Raikage. He liked interacting with the villagers, each and every one. It didn't matter their status or age. The people of the village loved him for this aspect, it helped them feel closer to a leader and not only that but strengthen the bonds in the village.

"Xoren. He's a Nara indeed, who we found later. An elderly couple showed him through the caves... he's a bright, and shows promise.", Satsuki reiterated the thoughts that moved through his head. "He lost everyone.", his dreamy voice continued as the teal and green eyes shifted focus to Hitomi.
Satsuki paused, wincing his eyes, as if also hurt for a moment. "We do what we can for the orphans, be the guidance they so tragically lost."

Hitmoi stayed silent as she listened to the man speak. There was a hint of pain in his voice and if she had been looking in his eyes she would've seen it there too. It was a sad truth her spoke of, many lost everything during that tragedy. Parents lost children, children lost parents. Everything that had been was gone, buried underneath a cold white blanket. Hitomi had been fortunate, she at least still had her father.
"Its sad that such a thing every occurred," she replied with a soft voice. "There is nothing we can do to change the past. The only thing left is to continue moving forward hoping for the best." She paused for a moment. "Yes Xoren does seem to show promise."
