Rudivi stood in a clearing in front of her home - a small cave. A slim tree branch roughly carved into a pole was stuck in the ground several meters away. A relatively flat wooden board hung from it, concentric circles painted in red turned the board into a target. Yet, though the purple wolftaur's quiver was almost empty, the board had not even a scratch.
Instead, arrows were scattered everywhere around the board, where they had hit tree trunks, bushes, the ground, and pretty much any place that wasn't the target. Rudi was frustrated with her lack of aim, but pride would not allow her to give up, so she took yet another arrow from the quiver and nocked it on the bow, letting it fly once more - hoping this time she had improved, even though she really hadn't. The arrow flew over the target and into the forest behind.

Leon didn't mean to spy. He was just on his way to grab some food, really, the last thing he expected was to find himself standing next to a big tree (only partially for cover) to watch this stranger attempt archery.
She had potential. She hadn't hit the mark at all yet, but she had the right kind of drive, and she knew what she was doing... she just wasn't doing it right.
As the final arrow soared over the target, he decided to make himself known. The sandy brunette stepped out of the treeline and took a few steps towards the stranger.
"You're not too bad," he started with a smile. "You need a little fine tuning, but you've got the right stuff to be good at this."

"Eeep!" Rudivi exclaimed, the newcomer startling her as she nocked another arrow. In her surprise she let it loose, and it hit a tree a few feet away from the male wolftaur.
"Hmph!" she muttered in reply to his words, trying to cover up her embarrassment. "Of course I'm not too bad, I've been practicing for years, on and off. I suppose you're good at archery?" She raised a disdainful eyebrow. "Not that it matters to me. I'm much better with a sword. Or a spear. Besides, my father was around to teach me how to use those. Nobody's been here to teach me what to do with a bow and arrows." Scrunching her nose in annoyance, she threw the bow to the side as she realized it sounded like she was making excuses.
"What are you doing on my property, anyway?" she said in an accusing tone, turning her frustration on the guy who probably hadn't meant to provoke her in such a way, but he had happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. "You're not here to sell me something, are you? You should know, I don't care how big or strong you are, I'll throw you out just like I did all the others."

Leon held his hands up in defeat as the girl in front of him continued to rant on in his general direction.
"Whoa there miss, I have no intention of selling you things. Don't you worry about that. Nor am I here to trespass, I was simply gong for a walk to gather my bearings. I'm new here, y'see?"
A soft smile graced his lips. "It's mighty good that you're skilled in the ways of weapons, it'll be a lot of help to you sometime, I'm sure." He paused, "Not that I mean someone's planning to attack you, but just that you never really know."
"I'm not as good with a sword as I am with bow and arrows, but I'm not too shabby either." He tilted his head to the side slightly as he looked at the pretty purple girl in front of him. The flowers on her arm were definitely no indication that she was a pushover by any means.
"I could, perhaps, give you some pointers on the bow? Only if you'd like, of course." Honey-sap sweetness ad sincerity dripped over his words as his tone changed with the offer. It wasn't his fault, just his nature when he was around such a pretty lady.

Rudivi's eyes narrowed. She now had a choice to make: let him stay or get him to leave. Normally with visitors it wasn't too hard - she had never really known anyone but her father, and after he passed away she didn't let anyone loiter around her home. Also, after she treated them harshly enough, they tended to either leave or stay and be annoying by trying to get her money or trying to attack her, both types of which she defeated one way or another and got them to leave.
But niceness? They rarely tried that, and she could always tell how much they didn't mean it. And yet this guy seemed sincere, and even though she was suspicious of him, no one had ever gone so far as to pretend to be this nice... not to her.
"Well... if you're really not used to the area... then I suppose I won't get rid of you for trespassing." She shrugged nonchalantly, trying not to show that his sweetness was getting to her. "And I've got nothing better to do at the moment, so I guess you could show me what you know." She raised an eyebrow and smirked. "I'll be the judge of how shabby you are."
