You make environmental activism look bad.

You should say something more like this:

Every day, human beings in the United States consume x tons (I don't know the exact amount) of paper products. x% (same deal) is recycled...the rest is thrown away, to be either burned, or to be put into a landfill, where it will most likely never help the planet by decomposing. If 100% of all paper disposed of by all people on the planet were recycled, and if all uniportant documents were disposed of, it would only take x (again, same thing) trees EVERY YEAR to supply the world with paper.

It is a common misconception that, because Algae provides 95% of the oxygen in our atmosphere, trees are unimportant, but this is far from true. For one thing, trees support billions of animals that would be unable to exist without them. Another important role trees play is lessening the Carbon Dioxide and Nitrogen levels in our atmosphere, as well as absorb light and heat from the sun, which decreases deaths from skin cancer and rising ocean temperatures (which is one of the biggest killers of fish in the modern world).

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
-Plant a tree...if a new tree was planted for every human, every cat, every dog, and every politician, we could return the environment to how it was 500 years ago in just 50 years.
-Visit the Sahara Desert and shoot a goat with a musket...they are the biggest killers of forests...even worse than us.
-Don't screw with nature. Let the spiders eat the flies, and let the Coyotes eat your housecats.

SAVE THE TREES YOU LOSERS OF DOOM!!!!

In the modern first world, paper is nearly obselete and fire is a thing of tradition more than necessity.

And the best houses have always been made from stones and bricks since humans have been making houses.

A tree's purpose in this world is to prevent global warming and decrease pollution in the air.

A rock's purpose? Housing. Holes and rocks exist for the purpose of shelter and comfort.

!! I must agree. Well I'm in Australia and similar things are happening- logging of the Daintree forest, and ah, this other one of which I can't remember the name. Pathetic. I often wonder, how awesome would it be if the world was just one big hippie commune. But we all know communism doens't really work as a practice since quite often the governments are corrupted, and lets face it, there are a lot of capitalist pricks out there. Oh yes, business and money, cut down all the trees, pollute everything, kill all the native animals through overpopulation... not saying they are all like that but it feels great to rant! Plus Australia didn't sign that greenhouse emissions thingy that almost every other country signed. Tah.

If you don't like the idea of a stone house, there are other alternatives, such as mud-daubbed hay bale houses.

The reduction of trees in this world is indeed suicide. The death of nature as a result can philosophically be compared to the death of God, for those who believe in higher a power(s). We would also be losing much of the intrinsic beauty of this planet. So very sad..

Trees are essential to life. Without them, we all die since they create oxygen for us. I say move somewhere in the Central Candian mountains where there is always trees. I also think about trees when I first wake up most of the time which leads me to beleive I love my life...and people are killing it!
