Erik: -Sits casually outside the house, relaxing in the silence and cool weather dancing around-
Thor: *Lost in thought as he wanders, unaware that his feet are taking him to parent's place.*
Erik: -His ears flick upon hearing the sound of someone coming towards the house. Rising to his feet, he looks around for whomever it could be, his eyes picking up a faint yet familiar figure- ..Hello?
Thor: *Lifts his head at the sound of his dad's voice. Blinks in surprise* Hey Dad
Erik: -Tilts his head and smiles- Hello Thor. What are you doing here?
Thor: I don't know *Looks around before moving to sit beside his father* Guess I got lost in thought
Erik: -Takes his seat again while keeping his gaze on his son- Has something been bothering you lately?
Thor: You could say that *Frowns as he wonders if this is the kind of thing he should talk about with his dad.* Hey Dad, how did you feel when you realized you were attracted to men?
Erik: -Blinks at the question and rubs the back of his head while thinking it over.- It was kind of, no, was, shocking and confusing when I realized it. The whole thing bothered me for some time, but after a while I learned to accept it since it isn't something you can just ignore and change.
Thor: When was it that you first realized it?
Erik: -Shrugs- It started with little things like staring at a guy in a different light, noticing little things, getting strange off feelings while looking at certain ones, strange thoughts, ect. Anyway, why do you ask?
Thor: *Looks away* What if someone's not attracted to all men, finds most men disgusting even. What does that say if he finds himself interested in one, and only one?
Erik: Hm.. -strokes his chin as he thinks- I would say that the person finds something special about them then, and has mad them an exception to their views.
Thor: *Flicks his tails* I thought he was a girl
Erik: Oh.. -Ear flicks- ..Do you still accept him as a guy?
Thor: I don't know, it's confusing. *Flicks an ear, his tails sparking in agitation* I thought he was someone that needed my protection. But guys can take care of themselves
Erik: -Frowns and shakes his head- That is not true Thor. Everyone needs some form of protection, some more than others. True, some are good on their own, but like I said, others need a hand to keep them standing. For example..your mom. He is a guy, but at times he needs my help, and in my own way I need his.
Thor: Mom's different, he's a special case. He's to gentle to hurt anyone, like a girl *Tilts his head back to look up at Erik, not really believing that he needs Yarrow for any kind of help that involves protection.*
Erik: If your mom can be a special case then why can't someone else, hm? You said it yourself that you mistook him for a girl, so he must be like one like you mom, right?
Thor: *Weakly argues* Because Mom's...Mom *Sighs since he knows that his Dad is right. Looks at the ground* It just feels.... weird now.
Erik: -Reaches out to pet his son and rest a hand on his shoulder- I know Thor, but it will slowly start to sink and feel right after a while.
Thor: But what if it never sinks in? Or if it's to late when it does? I think I scared him off, or offended him.
Erik: If you really like him, then you shouldn't let that get in your way. Maybe when you feel you can you should go try to find him and fix things.
Thor: But... what if he doesn't like me back?
Erik: You never know; he could grow to like you. If not..you will just have to accept it and move on.
Thor: Sounds easier if I just let it go... *Shakes his head* How have you been?
Erik: -Frowns at his son's comment- If you let go of something like this you may regret it in the future. -Shakes his head- I've been alright. You have an adopted sibling now.
Thor: *Looks confused* You're not talking about that cat of Mom's, are you?
Erik: No, it is a strange egg that was left at the door. We decided to take it in.
Thor: *Flicks his ears as he goes on alert* Boy or girl? Please say boy, I don't want to worry about more boys slobbering on my sisters.
Erik: -Chuckles and shakes his head- We don't know yet. This egg is different from the normal ones so we will have to wait and see.
Thor: How's it different?
Erik: It is just..an egg. There are no spikes or a tail or anything.
Thor: You sure it's not a kind of bird?
Erik: It could be, but it is too big to be a bird egg.
Thor: *Looks around* ...Can I see?
Erik: Sure, come on. -Rises to his feet and opens the front door where he waits for Thor to head in first-
Thor: *Heads into the house and looks around, noticing the lack of toys scattered about*
Yarrow: *Curled up in bed since he wasn't feeling well*
Meriadoc: *Wiggling in his crib*
Erik: -Nods towards the kids' old room, whispers- Come on, we don't want to wake your mom. -Heads to the room with the wiggling bed and walks over to the crib to pick Meriadoc up-
Thor: *Wonders why his Mom is in bed so early but shakes his head and follows Erik. Tilts his head and eyes the egg*
Meriadoc: *Stops wiggling when he's picked and instead tries to snuggle into the warmth*
Erik: -Settles on to the floor while holding Mer close- Here he..she..it, is.
Thor: *Pads over to sniff at the egg* Certainly looks different
Meriadoc: *Tenses at the strange presence*
Erik: I told you. -Lightly strokes the egg's shell- Don't worry. He is family, so he won't hurt you.
Thor: *Pulls back and sits* Guess I make him uncomfortable. Makes sense since I'm a stranger
Meriadoc: *Calms once Thor has moved away*
Erik: I'm sure things will be better once it has hatched and has had a chance to get to know you. It will be your sibling after all.
Thor: Maybe. Or he'll be like Airen and be afraid of me.
Erik: Airen isn't..that afraid. He is just..shy? You two never really spent too much time together, and when you did find yourself near each other something always happened, like you fighting with Kia or exploding in a sense.
Thor: *Grunts* ...I should go
Erik: Alright, but Thor...just, don't over think or ignore whatever is going on, alright?
Thor: Yeah yeah *Sighs* I'll keep it in mind *Pushes to his feet to head out* It was nice to see you Dad.
Erik: -Gets to his feet and follows Thor to the door- It was nice seeing you too. I'll tell your mom you came by.
Thor: *Nods* Alright *Steps outside and starts heading home*
Meriadoc: *Wiggles in Erik's arms*
Erik: -Sighs as he closes the door and then returns to stroking Mer's shell- I guess parenting really doesn't end after they have all left...
Meriadoc: *Has no idea what Erik is talking about. His shell vibrates from happiness*
Erik: Lets go check on your mom then... -Locks the door before heading to the bedroom and peaking in to see if everything is alright, whispers- Yarrow?
Yarrow: *Rolls over* Mm? *Squints his eyes open in that state of wakefulness that's still asleep*
Erik: -Quietly slips in to the room and takes a seat on the edge of the bed, sits Mer in his lap- How are you feeling?
Yarrow: *Mumbles* Better *Holds a hand out to Erik*
Erik: -Smiles softly as he scoots on to the bed and lies down next to Yarrow, sitting Mer between them and wrapping an arm around the other male- That's good. Go back to sleep, you need it.
Meriadoc: *Happy with the warmth*
Yarrow: *Yawns* Okay... *Snuggles closer to Erik and slips back off to sleep*
