Mimi sat on the fire escape, she held a cigarette in one hand, and the other lay on the back of her head as she kicked the metal tapping out a beat to herself. She thought about going up to see Roger, but only took another drag of her cigarette.
"Its cold." She said to herself, watching the smoke rise above her. "But I'm too numb to feel it."

Mark was on his way home from another unsucessful day of filming. He had tried to film everywhere he could think of. He hadn't even seen any police brutality that day! He finally reached the door to the loft when he noticed a sign taped to the door.
"Is Maureen having another protest?" He sighed.

Roger sat at the table in the kitchen with a pen and a notebook in hand. He sighed as he stared at the blank piece of paper in front of him, and just as he was writting the title "brainstorming" at the top of the page, his internal clock went off, and he unconsciously reached for his bottle of AZT on the table. He looked at the lable for a minute or two...everytime he picked up that bottle, it reminded him of April, the fact that he had AIDS and the fact that in the end, he was going to die early, and it also reminded him that he could have prevented this whole mess. "Life sucks." Roger said to himself as he opened the bottle.

Mimi stood up, and looked down at Mark, who was absorbed in a sign someone put on the door. She climbed up the steps, the cold air seeming to pick up her mood and when she reached Mark and Roger's loft she had a smile on her face. She peered in at Roger, who was staring at a piece of paper tapping a pen against the paper thinking. She sat and watched him, waiting.

Mark walked up the steps to the loft. Not noticing Mimi, he went in and plopped down on the couch without a word.

Mimi watched as Mark walked in, and moved closer to try and see what Roger was writing, her nose against the glass.

Mark sat on the couch, trying to figure out why he can never find anything to film. "Hey Roger, what are you writing?"

Roger stood up from the table and stretched, "Well, I'm trying to brainstorm some new ideas for a song...but I got nothing. What about you? did you find anything interesting to film?" he asked Mark as he glanced over at the wondow, only noticing Mimi now, "what the?"

"No, do I ever?" He noticed Roger and followed his gaze. "Is that the girl From the Cat Scratch Club?" Mark stood up and walked over to Roger.

Mimi smiles at Roger's expression and taps at the window weakly, waiting for someone to let her in.
"C'mon, its cold out here." She winked.

"Well, we can't just leave her standing out there in the cold like that." Roger said walking over to the window and openning it. "Uh...hi." is all Roger could think to say.
