I have been getting de ja vou (or what I thought was de ja vou) in the past year more frequently then I have in a long time.
When I say I thought it was de ja vou is that while I was researching it I found out that de ja vou is just a sense of familiarity about a place, thing, or person.
When I say de ja vou I mean that I have seen what is happening before in a dream. So since this is not (apparently) de ja vou, what is it really?
I've had these episodes all my life, and when it does happen I'm usually about my business when I realize that I've witnessed what is happening at the moment before in a dream.
Thanks, I'm just trying to sorta figure out why I'm getting it more frequently lately.

A deja vu is the sense that you have seen or done something before, even though you haven't. If you remember dreaming the scene then it could have been a precognitive dream. The feeling you got, the feeling of having been there before, is still a deja vu feeling.

Okay. It's not so much of a feeling of familiarity when it happens, it's more of a realization that I've seen this before and it takes me a moment to filter out what I have seen and where it stops. Is there any reason why people have precognitive dreams?
I don't find them annoying, but the realization that I'm seeing the same scenario happen again rattles me for a moment. It's a little distracting.

It's a little distracting. There's not any *one* reason. I'm sure every person has a different idea. Accessing the Akashic Records during sleep, "consciousness seeds" activating... whatever. I'm not sure the mechanism is as important as what it might show you.
