She was tired.

No, that was an understatement. Nyamana was exhausted.

No wonder, though. She was travelling back to the Amani'Kikundi, bitterly disappointed for having been unsuccessful in recruiting for the pack. She'd found a number of canines, but none had been interested. And so, defeated, she'd started heading back a few days ago. But it had seemed harder - she felt physically sick, and was tired all the time. Now, a week later, her belly had begun to swell, and it had become clear that that night she'd spent with Zuberi had left her with more than she'd bargained for.

In a way, she supposed, it meant she'd succeeded. There were no doubt a number of new members currently in her stomach. But she felt so terrible - Jua had trusted her. She'd convinced him to let her go. He was so naive, he'd never even considered the possibility. Nyamana herself hadn't even considered it, until she'd met Zuberi. She felt like a traitor. But she had to go back - she couldn't cope by herself. She'd never been good with children, and she didn't have a clue what to do. Maybe there was some instinct or something, but so far nothing had kicked in. Just the sickness, and pure, utter exhaustion sweeping over her body.

She had to rest.

Laying herself on a soft bed of leaves, the wild dog panted softly, trying to catch her breath back. Perhaps she'd rest here until the morning - it was getting late. The pack was nearby, she'd be there soon. Nya sighed - she hoped beyond hope that Jua would forgive her...

Somewhere nearby, a rather thick-jawed leopardess was lying on her back, eyes cast up to the canopy of trees that shielded her. She wasn't watching the trees, however. She was watching the strange bits of seed and pollen that drifted through the air every now and again...

...They were tiny leopards. With wings, like a GOD.

Gogo giggled to herself at the thought, paws shuddering up to smother her face. Her laughter subsided into soft breathing and the leopardess let her paws fall away from her presently sullen face. Idili'su didn't like to make pretend like her...he told her there was no such thing as tiny leopards with wings. Maybe Gogo didn't believe in them herself. It was never clear what was going on behind those amber eyes, besides. But everyone who knew Gogo knew that she liked to pretend--she lived for it. And right now, whether she believed it or not, the floating bits of pollen and seedlings were tiny, glowing leopards...with wings.

Oh, and tusks. Like an elephant. But only some.

"'cause the other ones have, um...branches. Coming out of their heads." she said knowledgeably.

Just then, a small sound met her ears, causing them to shudder. Gogo blinked her eyes and rolled over onto her white stomach, tail flicking wildly behind her, like it always did whenever she got excited. She jumped to her paws and eased her way out of the cluster of trees she had been settled under, eager to find the source of the soft sound she was hearing. It didn't take long for Gogo to see a pretty wild dog in the near distance. The quiet sound had been breathing.

"GOOD MORNING!" Gogo yelled cheerfully, grinning.

It was night time.

Nyamana lowered her head to her paws, likcing her lips slightly as her breathing became a little laboured, the female forced to lift her head again to let out a rather wheezing cough. She was barely able to hunt in this state - she was so slow. She'd caught a limp wildebeest the other day, but that had been lucky. She hoped she got back soon, so she could at least eat a decent meal. She didn't really care about the children's well-being - was that weird? - she just wanted to pull herself out of this horrible, sickly feeling. Sighing, she replaced her head on her paws again, eyelids fluttering shut as she attempted to fall into a nice, dreamless sleep...

Only to be awoken shortly afterwards by some creepy leopardess shouting at her. Good morning? What, was it morning already!? Nyamana cranked her head upwards, only to find the sky littered with stars, frowning as she looked back down to the dark feline. ...Was she alright? Perhaps she was merely confused. Exhausted, and really just wanting to sleep, Nyamana none-the-less tried to look friendly, smiling tiredly.

"Hello there."

Gogo smiled bashfully, head tucked to her chest as she made her way towards the wild dog. She seemed like such a motherly type, Gogo wasn't used to it. She shuffled closer and stopped, keeping a good distance between herself and the other female. Gogo was dangerous after all...a secret keeper of sorts...at least, that's what she was for the moment. But she wouldn't let the wild dog know that. It was a secret, after all!

The leopardess sat down, tail coiling around her front paws. The tip twitched gently, like a metronome to Gogo's mood. She observed the wild dog for a moment before soundly deciding the cream-colored creature was very sick. Maybeeee she was going to DIE?!

"Nonono," Gogo whispered to herself, ears folding sadly. She bobbed back up again immediately afterwords, a grin evident of lower-bite plastered on her adolescent face. "Are you sick?" she asked kindly, seeming eager to help.

Now the leopardess seemed bashful, shy almost. Nyamana blinked her eyes wearily, tilting her head. Well, she certainly hadn't seemed shy a few moments ago, when she'd been screaming nonsense and woken Nyamana from her much-needed nap. Oh why couldn't she just leave, so Nya could go back to sleep already? The leopardess came closer and stopped, and Nyamana yawned - maw stretching open wide, remaining there, before suddenly snapping shut again. She blinked tiredly, before finally looking to the stranger once more.

No? No what? Why did she look so upset? ...And now she was grinning. What kind of crazy feline was this!? Nyamana, whilst not outrageously opposed to them, had never had a particular liking for felines. They walked on the same soil, and she didn't want to kill them. That was about it. "Sick?" Nyamana repeated, frowning. She shrugged, "I guess you could put it that way. I'm fine though, thanks."

Just let me go back to sleep

Ohhh NOOOO!

Clearly the glowing leopards-with-wings-and-tusks-and-tree-branches had infested this poor creature. Gogo frowned, her jaw plainly showing her under-bite and her smooth brow creasing with worry. She always became very sad whenever someone wasn't feeling well. It made her stomach feel strange. It was always much, much worse whenever her bestest-friend Idili'su was sad or sick, too. So now, staring at the fatigued-looking wild dog, a strong sense of resolve washed over the leopardess, and she decided to HELP!

"Gogo can make you a potion!" she chimed seriously, upper-body leaning forward as she spoke. "Shishi showed Gogo how!" Shishi was, of course, Idili'su. It was in her cub-hood that she had dubbed the white and red lion that name, and she had never once called him anything but. He always talked real loud and made scary faces when she called him that, too! It was funny!

...She really loved him...

Regaining her thoughts, Gogo stared earnestly back at the wild dog again, awaiting an answer.

The leopardess seemed upset, and usually Nyamana would have been grateful of the sympathy. Company was nice as well, it was nice to not feel lonely. But not right now. Right now, there was only one thing she wanted to do, yet she was unable to because of this slightly strange feline sitting in front of her, refusing to budge.

A potion? Nyamana couldn't help herself, she snorted in amusement. She herself was a healer, and a talented one at that. If she needed healing, she could do it herself. She didn't care who Shishi was, nor who Gogo was. Although she assumed Gogo was the name of the leopard. "No, I'm fine, thank you." she insisted through gritted teeth, almost growling.

"All I need is some rest."

Maybe she got the hint?

Gogo couldn't help but giggle at the strange-sounding noise that game out of the wild dog's throat. It sounded like gurgling. How strange!

"You need rest?" Gogo echoed, head tilting like an owl. Her tail uncoiled and she leaned even closer, frowning, eyes showing her willingness to aid the female. "Gogo can make you a potion for sleep! So you don't die from wa...wake-ness..." she murmured, losing her train of thought. Then she bounded away towards a thick-trunked tree nearby, settling down near its base. She suddenly smashed her face down into the dirt at its base and remained still for several moments. When she stood back, there was an indent in the dirt where her face had been. Then she spit into the indent.

Head whipping over her shoulder and a crooked grin on her face, Gogo shouted, "Almost done~!" It was more than obvious that she had no idea what she was doing. But that was Gogo--always pretending. She scratched some bark away from the tree into the imprint, along with a few leaves. She smeared them about, scooped up the disgusting paw-full of stuff, and hobbled back towards the wild dog on three legs.

"It'scomingit'scomingit'scomingit'scoming," she chanted rapidly as she went. Finally she collapsed about ten feet from the wild dog, paw smacking the ground and causing her "potion" to fly through the air and land some distance away.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOhey, why are you sick?"

Yes, yes! The leopardess repeated what Nyamana had said and she nodded her head, hoping beyond hope that the feline got the message. All she had to do was turn around and leave, and Nyamana could have her much needed beauty sleep. ...And she groaned again. No, she didn't want a sleeping draft, she just wanted to go to sleep, like she normally did, without the infuriating presence of this crazy leopardess! Gritting her teeth, unable to stop the slight growl that crept through, she made as if to stop the leopardess...

But Gogo was already gone. Not from sight, but from her side. Nyamana considered making a run for it, but in her condition she wouldn't be able to run far. The leopardess would catch her within moments. And the canine didn't doubt that she'd chase her.

She was chanting nonsense and coming closer, and dropped whatever rubbish she'd been making. Nyamana didn't doubt for a moment that it was rubbish - spit was only good for open wounds, and only then to act as a mild antibiotic until something better could be found. A new conversation had been started, but Nya was growing weary, and with it snappish. "I just am! Now would you please leave me in peace! Just...just go away!"

Gogo shuffled to her feet and shook the length of her pelt, small clumps of dirt whirring in every direction. When she stopped shaking, she stumbled a bit, her head spinning around until she sat firmly on her bottom. She blinked a moment, licked dirt from her mouth, and then stared at the wild dog once more.

"Just am?" Gogo echoed confusedly, not understanding how such a thing was possible. Yes, she acted stupid at times. Yes, she acted child-like despite her age. Yes, some would consider her insane. But Gogo was perfectly sane, and quite smart, especially from being around the genius lion, Idili'su. She had learned hundreds of things from him. He was the smartest creature she knew. And she knew, because of him, that there was a scientific reason for everything...so you just weren't magically sick. There had to be...something causing it...somehow...

Then Gogo frowned. She swatted the ground gently with her tail a bit, head turning every which way slowly as she pondered the wild dog's words.

"...Okay!" she chirped after a moment, leaping to her feet. With a swish of her dark brown tail, Gogo turned and trotted off in the direction of Idili'su's lair. Well, at least she had tried to help....It was sad that not everyone would except such a kind gesture!

...Then again, she didn't have any medicine for curing the sickness of glowy-leopards-with-wings anyway.

Ugh, now she was covering her in nasty bits of dirt! Nyamana barked loudly, snarling a little more softly as she pushed herself to her feet, trying to look as menacing as she could with her swollen belly. flashing her teeth. The leopardess was choing her again, but Nyamana honestly couldn't be bothered with it. She just couldn't. She was tired, hormonal, hungry, and just wanted to sleep.

...Okay? She was just leaving? The leopardess was trotting off, in the direction away from Nyamana, and the Wild Dog was left confused as she watched the brown feline leave. She waited a few moments, to see if she was coming back, and it was just a trick. But she didn't. Sighing loudly, eternally grateful to whichever Gods had answered her plea, Nyamana flopped back on the ground again, asleep within moments of her head hitting the floor.
