When few members feud and storyline ideas always revolve around them winning all the matches that are supposed to happen in the feud. Then they get upset when it's shot down! Well duh!
General note here being that a feud doesn't automatically mean you win and your opponent gets nothing. If both members are going to have fun and enjoy a storyline then you need to have a bit of give-and-take, 50-50, not have it all one way etc.
Yes winning matches will help you progress but equally so will the quality of the storyline, promos etc. I see both match and storyline as equally important, so simply winning matches but not putting any effort into any feuds or other areas of HLPW will hinder you!
That's all! Of course it applies to the few, everyone else is doing brilliantly and I look forward to seeing how the current and future storylines and feuds unfold!
One of the things I know will start a good feud is an open challenge promo. You come out, cutting a promo stating that you are looking for a challenger, and 9 times out of 10, someone will come out and face you. This strategy is good for someone who comes in mid-cycle and wants a match right away.
NOTE: you do not need to ask permission to extend an open challenge, thats why it's an open challenge.
Another thing about developing a feud is to bare in mind your current alignment. If you are a face, in a feud with a heel, you are not going to want to use dirty tactics, as that is going to create a following for the heel character. Same thing goes for a heel, if you are a heel character, you don't want to come running to ring-side to bail someone out of trouble, as that is viewed as a heroic act which is something normally displayed by a face.
But don't be a d**k and keep involving yourself in EVERY match.
It's really not cool.
